TODAY’S NEW YORK POST
ABC News’ Sunlen Miller reports: Large crowd of people, about 200 by my estimate and growing, has gathered outside the White House gates on Pennsylvania Avenue, waving flags and dancing.
They sang, in unison, the Star Bangled Banner.
They are celebrating and chanting “USA USA USA.”
They…“A small team of Americans carried out the operation with extraordinary courage and capability. No Americans were harmed,” President has just said in his speech.
Osama bin Laden: Dead or alive
But in the end, it solves no problem, just closes an old book we never quite finished.. But that’s not saying it’s not a historic night
God Bless America
The Star Spangled Banner…
What an interesting night in the history of America..

Can I hear “Morale booster for a Church marred by sex scandals!?”

Did last night’s mockery put him over the edge? Can he win a nomination? … will he allow wind to move his hair?
All of these questions to be answered in time.

The rundown of the clash: The White House said that a San Fransisco CHRONICLE reporter broke the rules when he filmed a protest at a private dinner—you know, the one where the person paid thousands of bucks just to sing out a protest song
The White House said the reporter broke the rules of typical pool reporting by using film and not text..
But the San Fran CHRONICLE is upping the fight a bit more today: They said that the White House is very wrong....
This is a fascinating story to me.. I’ll be interested in seeing where it goes. It also shows that no matter the party or president, there is inevitably a war between those who want to report information and those who’d rather keep it secret.
Fogal said a charge of third-degree murder is appropriate for the girl, who was two weeks shy of her 10th birthday when her “violent acts” caused abusive head trauma to the baby and ultimately his death.
It was determined during a hearing Friday that girl will be tried in juvenile court rather than in adult criminal court. Fogal said she will be tried as a delinquent, however, meaning if convicted she could face time in a juvenile detention center.
A very bad weekend for many..
The website parapolitical with a great example in the form of an image of our modern day news media:
… we expect the press to provide transparency and accountability to the people to whom governments are ultimately accountable so people are well-informed …
- Barack Obama extols the enlightened role the press play in American civic discourse (2006)
Freedom of Press: the founding myth of financial democratic politics?
How true this all is.. One day in the life of media coverage of events.. and this occurs.
The big websites all following to the minute the updates from the Royal wedding—I got a few news alerts yesterday that the news alert writers should be ashamed of. Even more, I got an breaking news alert on my phone that the Royal palace last night ordered dozens of pizzas, delivered to the privileged few by London police.
I respect Brian Williams and NBC NIGHTLY NEWS a bit more, though.. at least he turned the jet around and they became the only news network to do on the ground and all-around good reporting on the calamity in the South..
But this CNN snippet—of a real screenshot of a day in the news—is very telling of how far our celebrity culture has been intertwined with news of the day..
Once again, tip of the coal rake to parapoliticalfor some good image for thought.
It’s a jungle out there. Welcome. You’re here.
He tweeted tonight:
I love London, but Brits drink 2 much. In 20 min I just saw 25 drunks, 3 vomiters, 5 public pee-ers, and 4 passed out people. Yuck
The Royal wedding day ends with bacon butties and fry ups at a late night party of 300.. drinks on Harry. He best hope no one has a camera for the embarrassing moments ..
But since once real news reporters are now gossiping about it, so too does this site: it’s true, David Cameron’s wife did not wear a hat.. and it looked like she didn’t care a bit.. The Queen might.
Mrs. Obama offended the Queen once too.. As I’m sure so did Lt. Frank Drebin .. Things happen. Hats sometimes don’t.
And by that I mean.. does she get her own personal Groom of the Stool? It would certainly be unfair were she to not.
Just got an AP NEWS ALERT that William and Kate exchanged a short kiss… An AP alert?! A kiss is breaking news worthy?! The news has become this shallow… As the tornadoes roll on
IT’S ROYAL WEDDING TIME!
And that, my friends, is what really matter.
Royalty marrying.. The kings and queens—with some added flavor of dictators thrown in—all watching the pomp and circumstance of the Royals. Don’t drink beer in front of the queen, though. My God, how ‘common’ do ARE YOU anyway!? Wine.. that’s the ticket. Just wine.
Wining and dining with the rich and famous—and many not famous but still mega-rich.
By the way… what exactly is Prince William’s last name? The question has surged by 1200% this week. He is in the line of the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha family.
And just in time for the Royal wedding here is some pretty interesting reading to say the least.
Raise a glass!! Toast! But just not, I suppose, to history…?

A comic book spoiler site reporting that SUPERMAN is going to renounce his US citizenship over geo-political events.
But that’s ok. We still have BATMAN. That is unless he moved his assets offshore due to the financial crisis and invested heavily in different nations.
Can’t trust any superhero these days.
WOW..
JUST WOW.

Worst in Alabama History..
A few days ago, Accuweather forecaster Henry Margusity was right when he predicted that this week would be deadly..And now today he is forecasting that the last day of storms *until Sunday* may bring tornado threats to New York City through North Carolina..
Prayers today for a nation seemingly devastated by the wrath of Mother Nature at her most brutal and uncaring time..
Can we just get a sunny day, please?
TOTAL DISASTER

The New York TIMES is now the latest of many to fall for a spoof of real news as presented by the always hilarious ONION.. The New York Times’ April 17 mini-retrospective on the “original teen-girl tabloid,” Tiger Beat, included a sampling of the magazine’s covers throughout the years..
The TIMES peeled the onion back though and issued this statement:
A series of pictures last Sunday of covers of the magazine Tiger Beat, with an article about how the original teen-girl tabloid has remained virtually unchanged since its inception in 1965, erroneously included a parody cover, produced by the satiric newspaper The Onion, that featured a picture of President Obama

Changed it.. For the better .. stick to Coal Speaker, though.. no worries on that other site.
Tremendous storms have rocked the nation from coast to coast over the past several days.. There is a strange feeling in the air, too. Something very heavy, very humid.. very intense.. And almost very unstable. It seems that you can almost feel the conditions as they develop.. uneasy atmosphere above, storms descending to the ground below.. Texas saw tornadoes on top of wild fires.. An entire town in Arkansas gone.. St. Louis still recovering from their airport damage.. And now the storms rolling into the Ohio Valley and the I95 Corridor in coming hours and days.. The wild rocky weather will end.. But not before a record setting April occurs—with a record for tornadoes being more than likely..
Maybe the force is with you.
Or is it the dark side?
Either way it’s time to go bed. Goodnight all..

So are we bad parents for using LIGHT MY FIRE to put Ayden to sleep? It works.. I still contend he is an old-soul from the 70s.
Money quote:
What the would-be sleuths won’t find is Obama’s “long-form birth certificate,” a confidential one-page document containing his original birth records kept on file in the first floor of the Department of Health.
Those original birth records typically include additional birth details, such as the hospital and delivering doctor, said Dr. Chiyome Fukino, the state’s former health director who twice looked at and publicly confirmed Obama’s original long-form birth records.
My wife and I have Ayden’s birth records—including his birth certificate—safely locked away.
And hopefully it will still be available when he decides to run for president.
Otherwise, why would a 8-minute DOORS song put him to sleep—every time?
Thousands flocked to see Elton John in Wilkes Barre, PA, last night.. From friends of mine who went, it was apparently a decidedly great show. And now.. the Rocket Man, Sir Elton, goes from the coal region of Luzerne County to the Royal Wedding. What a difference that will be.
This is London today, along with many other places in the UK, where thick smog has descended on the continent.. Health officials have said those with asthma or breathing problems should avoid the air and stay indoors.. Also: Don’t exercise outdoors.. This as the thick layer of pre-Easter heat and smog descends on London.
An epic failure of TV programming, or perhaps the network giving up on advertising before it even began?
Either way, Paul Reiser’s newest show now has the dubious distinction of a stinker.. only two episodes in, NBC chose to cancel his program from their schedule..
3.3 million viewers in the 18-49 demos.. low ratings..
The second episode bled viewers, coming in with only 2.5 million..
What will take its place? The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER reports: OFFICE reruns..
Mad about you// over and out for Reiser..
