'Life-Threatening' Flooding Submerges Pensacola, Florida, as the killer nationwide storm continues to roll

Wednesday night hell in the city as more than 2 feet in 26 hours fell..

2 feet of water in a day.. that is unbelievable and amazing — and obviously become a disaster situation.

For this city and area being hit with this massive nationwide killer storm, this water drop may have been worse than hurricanes slamming this part of Florida..

It’s the worst flooding in 30 years.
A state of emergency has been declared..

And the storm is not over yet. The threat today is for disaster and death along the East Coast, especially the I-95 Corridor..

Heads up for the Mid-Mississippi & Ohio Valleys and southern Great Lakes Region: Today may be filled with violent, severe weather

It’s mid November. It will feel like mid-spring—and the skies above will be just as confused.. it’s not severe weather season but today will be severe in some places.

The threats in this area today include:

-Several intense tornadoes likely
-Several large hail events likely with a few very large hail events to 2” in diameter possible
-Several damaging wind gusts with a few significant gusts to 80mph possible.

That is strong wind.. and that severe weather.. And it is a dangerous situation brewing—hopefully one that will not happen as the NOAA predicts.

Here are the latest warnings nationwide.

And keep in mind that major areas like Chicago and Indianapolis are facing tornado threats today.

Accuweather is running an up to the minute live blog on the weather conditions.

Stay tuned. Be safe.

Be alert.

And as always, be prepared as best you can..

This is an extremely significant and dangerous weather situation developing for Thursday.. (Warnings like this are not common for the area where the purple shaded color on the map is) .. big thunderstorms with high winds are likely.. In the purple: Tornadoes are not only possible but likely—and there will be massive power outages if storms truly knock these areas..

The threat is Baltimore/DC/Philly.. a lesser threat but still potent exists back to Harrisburg PA and the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania..

Places like New York City, New Jersey, and other areas along the coast line could see wind gusts topping 50mph.. 37 million people are in the area where the most dangerous weather could occur Thursday..

Tomorrow is Tornado Thursday for someone, and maybe more than one city.

As I wrote here on Coal Speaker only yesterday *(about this upcoming threat as a matter of fact)*, we see now that tornadoes don’t care if you’re a populated area or a trailer park.

Pay attention to your favorite source of weather today and especially tomorrow. This could be a very bad day for millions of people, let’s hope it’s not.

Something strange in the air

Tremendous storms have rocked the nation from coast to coast over the past several days.. There is a strange feeling in the air, too. Something very heavy, very humid.. very intense.. And almost very unstable. It seems that you can almost feel the conditions as they develop.. uneasy atmosphere above, storms descending to the ground below.. Texas saw tornadoes on top of wild fires.. An entire town in Arkansas gone.. St. Louis still recovering from their airport damage.. And now the storms rolling into the Ohio Valley and the I95 Corridor in coming hours and days.. The wild rocky weather will end.. But not before a record setting April occurs—with a record for tornadoes being more than likely..

Saturday night mayhem

Severe weather hit Saturday in many states, with the most severe being in 6 where 35 people (at least) lost their lives from storms..

In North Carolina alone, 62 tornadoes have been reported—this may be one of the worst early spring storms in at least two decades for the state.

The AP dispatches report it this way:

"In Virginia, disaster officials said one apparent tornado ripped across more than 12 miles through Gloucester County, uprooting trees and pounding homes to rubble while claiming three lives. Another person was confirmed dead and another remained missing early Sunday after flash flooding elsewhere in Virginia.
Scenes of destruction across the South looked eerily similar in many areas.
In North Carolina, rooftops were ripped off stores, trees were plucked from the ground and scores of homes were damaged, Hoell said.”

Thunderstorms were felt in the Northeast, including Coal Speaker home base, by late in the night Saturday.. but the severe killing storms were confined to the South.. A horrid day in weather history.. A terrible day for so many.. My empathy is with them all..
