I love Toynbee tiles!
I have loved them ever since I first started reading about them a decade ago.. And just this week, I was reminded of how cool they were when I read an ONLY IN YOUR STATE story about them in the city of Philadelphia, in my state of Pennsylvania.. You, too, can read that here.
The author writes this:
You may have spotted them before, or stepped over them without even noticing. About the size of a license plate, they can easily blend in with the storm drains and manhole covers in the streets. These bizarre tiles have been appearing on streets, not only in Pennsylvania, but throughout 26 major American cities and some cities in South America since the first one was spotted in Philadelphia in 1982.

Others have political messages.
They are also in Boston, Kansas City, and Washington DC. Some reports indicate Baltimore is included with that.. I have even heard there is one hidden one under some brush in the city of Harrisburg PA. I will feverishly look for that one during my daily grind..
There was a story back in 2013 from a FOX affiliate in Salt Lake City freaked lots of people out with a “mysterious message” appears story.. However the story from FOX 13 also offered up some good history on the Toynbee tiles:
In 2011, a documentary titled “Resurrect Dead” followed the efforts of a group from Philadelphia who attempted to uncover the mystery surrounding the tiles. According to their research, the original Toynbee Tile may have come from a man who believed in the theories of a historian named Arthur Toynbee, who wrote that life could be resurrected.
The first tile that appeared carried a message reading, “Toynbee Idea Movie 2001 Resurrect Dead Plan Jupiter.” The image then began to spread to other states and countries, including Brazil, Argentina and Chile. In many instances, it took on different slogans, as copycat artists began to emerge, much like the one in Salt Lake City.
In 2006, WPVI in Philadelphia had a special report on the Toynbee tiles in that city.. From reporter Matt O’Donnell, a fascinating report that goes into some good detail..
The three filmmakers are Justin Duerr, Colin Smith, and Jon Foy. They run a website called resurrectdead.com, and have been investigating the strange case of the Toynbee tiles for several years now. You may discredit them as true investigators by their looks and youth, but they seem to have done a thorough job so far, and claim they have a prime suspect for the tile-doer.
Duerr says the tiles began appearing sometime between 1983 and 1987. He believes they are constructed out of true linoleum, asphalt, crack filler, glue and tar paper. While there has never been an instance where a tile-maker has been caught, Duerr claims he missed seeing one being placed on a West Philadelphia street by about five minutes (he crossed an intersection, went into a convenience store, and came back out to find a fresh Toynbee tile at the same intersection that wasn’t there before; he says the tile was already affixed to the pavement).

The amazing time: As time goes on the popularity of these tiles have staying power. They are appearing in more places.. their strange and obscure message is constantly being debated..
Because they are really, really mysterious. Fun. Creepy. Weird. And interesting.
Those descriptions of Toynbee Tiles will never go away..

CNET reporting “There’s a camera permanently strapped in the middle of your head. It’s on a headband. The camera has got autofocus and is high-definition.
Whenever you want to take a picture, you tap the headband. You can even post directly to your favorite social medium.”
Someone needs to watch BLACK MIRROR to get a cautionary tale on his before proceeding.. Can’t we see what could go wrong?
In the same light, it’s only natural that this would be the next step in the progression and technological development of humanity.
Now when it gets implanted in your head? Perhaps that’s the moment it gets creepy.

“We were amazed when we found this new type of disease — tapeworms growing inside a person essentially getting cancer that spreads to the person, causing tumors,” said Dr. Atis Muehlenbachs, a pathologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who helped figure out what happened.
“In January 2013, a 41-year-old man in Medellín, Colombia, presented with fatigue, fever, cough, and weight loss of several months’ duration. He had received a diagnosis of HIV infection in 2006,” Muehlenbachs and colleagues reported in the New England Journal of Medicine.

A MAJOR SOLAR FLARE CAUSING LOW NORTHERN LIGHTS.. AND A PLAN FROM OBAMA?
I have been paying a lot of attention over all of my years on this site blogging and clogging up the networks about solar flares and the like.. See evidence here (http://coalspeaker.com/tagged/solar-flare) ..
Tonight, there is a chance that northern lights will be as low as my state of Pennsylvania.. that’s a big deal. Far down here. It was a major solar flare and storm that obviously caused such an event.
And such an event could be a catastrophe.. And now timing from the Obama Administration couldn’t be more impeccable. A solar flare awareness is evident.. hopefully cool non-flared heads will prevail and this nation will advance beyond 20th century technology and insulate our grid. It would be a stunning achievement for the President–call it a new Dwight Eisenhower interstate system.. it could create jobs and maintain future economy might and security.
A failure?
That could be awful.
As FOX news reports, about the White House plan and obvious dangers:
“The efforts undertaken to achieve the objectives of this strategy will establish a national approach to the security and resilience in the face of our improved understanding of the seriousness of the space-weather risk, and the steps we must take to prepare for it,” Suzanne Spaulding, undersecretary for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s National Protection and Programs Directorate, said Thursday during an event hosted by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) that discussed the new documents.
That risk is indeed serious, many experts say. High-energy solar flares aimed at Earth can affect the operation of orbiting satellites, and the most powerful emissions can even pose a risk to astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
Of even larger concern are coronal mass ejections (CMEs), huge eruptions that send clouds of solar plasma streaking through space at millions of miles per hour. CMEs that hit Earth can spawn intense geomagnetic storms, with the potential to disrupt power grids, satellite navigation and radio communications temporarily.
In March 1989, for example, a strong CME caused a blackout that left 6 million people in the Canadian province of Quebec without power for 9 hours, OSTP Director John Holdren said during Thursday’s event, which was webcast live.
The news just so happens to coincide with a major solar storm.
All of earth should take notice.
Study MAY have found evidence of alternate and parallel universes
It’s all theoretical at this point.. BUT..

While mapping the so-called “cosmic microwave background,” which is the light left over from the early universe, scientist Ranga-Ram Chary found what he called a mysterious glow, the International Business Timesreported.
Chary, a researcher at the European Space Agency’s Planck Space Telescope data center at CalTech, said the glow could be due to matter from a neighboring universe “leaking” into ours, according to New Scientist magazine.
“Our universe may simply be a region within an eternally inflating super-region,” scientist Chary wrote in a recent study in the Astrophysical Journal.
“Many other regions beyond our observable universe would exist with each such region governed by a different set of physical parameters than the ones we have measured for our universe,” Chary wrote in the study.
USA TODAY has a perfect way of dumbing the news down a bit so the average American can read about it.. which in this case is fine to me. It’s beyond my current comprehension. But I promised myself to learn as much about physics as I could before I die. Maybe it’s time now to start learning.

3 earthquakes hit Phoenix area; other Arizona cities shaken
More:
The first, a magnitude 3.2 quake, struck at 8:59 p.m. (10:59 p.m. ET), the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The second, a magnitude 4.1 tremor, happened at 11:29 p.m.
The third, a magnitude 4.0 quake, took place at 11:49 p.m.
Several cities in the area felt shaking.
“Ground, walls and bed shook here in South Scottsdale…twice!” Deborah Groseclose tweeted.
More reports across Facebook and Twitter indicated a widespread swath of shaking as a result of the swarm..
There is another swarm still occurring around he west coast .. And with that, my favorite earthquake predictor Dutchsinse is calling for a larger shake in the next 2-6 days..
Be alert and have a plan.

KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. – Police in suburban Philadelphia are investigating Halloween candy reportedly found with “a needle-type item” inside.
The Kennett Square police department said Sunday that such items were reportedly found inside five wrapped Twix bars given to four different children on Halloween night in the Stenning Hills area of the Chester County borough.
Police said the candy and packaging have been submitted for processing and examination and their investigation continues.
Authorities have urged parents to check all candy children are given, and people with candy left over that wasn’t handed out should also check it for possible tampering.
You may not believe it to be true, but movies of the future will feature no acting.. Only robotic performances. Imagine an Oscar award given to the ‘best android’ in cinema? …The future is coming.

This would appear, in my humble opinion, to simply be a natural progression of how film will evolve.. There will be no stuntmen injured.. there will be no need to re-do a scene, no human emotions that will involve egos or emotions that stop filming.. No tears, only when programmed. And yes, budgets will be adhered to and deadlines met.
We have gone to a CGI world when it comes to movies. I think it’s only natural that we will also progress to a no-acting robotic formula for film..
Androids of tomorrow will not look like androids. They will look a lot like people. And we, as the humans that are left, will most likely buy it all up in the entertainment realm..

NY POST REPORTS: On Oct. 24, Fallon was stitched up at a hospital in Cambridge, Mass., after falling — and dropping a bottle of Jägermeister — while receiving the Harvard Lampoon’s Elmer Award for Excellence in Humor. “I threw the bottle and then I landed on broken glass,” a bandaged Fallon recapped on his show the following Monday. “There [were] pools of blood everywhere.”
THE NEW YORK POST is hitting at Fallon today with rumors of his impending train wreck.

Call this a sacrilege, but I am somewhat glad Halloween is over. I am a bit ‘paranormaled’ out .. Perhaps of my own doing.
Perhaps it was that awful DESTINATION AMERICA exorcism show that really got me..

You know zombies well.. But where did the idea of them come from?

After the Haitian Revolution in 1804 and the end of French colonialism, the zombie became a part of Haiti’s folklore. The myth evolved slightly and was folded into the Voodoo religion, with Haitians believing zombies were corpses reanimated by shamans and voodoo priests. Sorcerers, known as bokor, used their bewitched undead as free labor or to carry out nefarious tasks. This was the post-colonialism zombie, the emblem of a nation haunted by the legacy of slavery and ever wary of its reinstitution. As the UC Irvine professor Amy Wilentz has pointed out in her writing on zombies, on several occasions after the revolution Haiti teetered on the brink of reinstating slavery. The zombies of the Haitian Voodoo religion were a more fractured representation of the anxieties of slavery, mixed as they were with occult trappings of sorcerers and necromancy. Even then, the zombie’s roots in the horrors of slavery were already facing dilution.

It was in this form—Voodoo bokor and black magic—that the Haitian myth first crossed paths with American culture, in the aforementioned White Zombie.Although the film doesn’t begin to transform the undead in the way that Romero’s films and the subsequent zombie industrial complex would, it’s notable for its introduction of white people as interlopers in the zombie legend. It would take another few decades or so, but eventually the memory of Haiti’s colonialist history and the suffering it wrought—millions of Africans worked into the grave—would be excised from the zombie myth for good.
