The witching hour deal: 3am agreement signed to freeze key parts of Iran nuclear program

There are some historic developments taking place in Geneva today/tonight/now:

From the WASHINGTON POST report file this hour by Anne Gearan and Joby Warrick:

Iran and six major powers agreed early Sunday on an historic deal that freezes key parts of Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for temporary relief on some economic sanctions, diplomats confirmed.

The deal was reached after four days of marathon bargaining and an 11th-hour intervention by U.S. Secretary of State John F. Kerry and other foreign ministers from Europe, Russia and China. the sources said.

The agreement, sealed at 3 a.m. signing ceremony in Geneva’s Palace of Nations, requires Iran to halt or scale back parts of it nuclear infrastructure, the first such pause in more than a decade.

The report goes on to say that this deal with make it virtually impossible for Tehran to build a nuclear weapon.. so we are told.

Box Office: 'Catching Fire' Ablaze Friday With $70.5 Million

The good, the bad, and the ugly.

HUNGER GAMES is setting some box office theaters on proverbial fire with a pre-Thanksgiving weekend romp.. It’s going to be a big movie when final numbers come out.

Just in my little neck of the woods, the theater at the Schuylkill Mall in Frackville PA actually devoted all of its theaters to this film on Friday due to the demand for ticket sales. And even my quiet and reserved brother, who seldom takes part in such affairs, went to the movies with his family to see this film. If Lionsgate got my brother, well hell they could get anyone.

The other part of this weekend’s box office is just how bad Vince Vaughn is doing. According to the DEADLINE breakdown from Friday night’s box office, the DELIVERY MAN is a big bust.. But next to HUNGER GAMES, nothing really can compete.

We are told that experts are predicting $150 mil plus for HUNGER GAMES. That’s big. And it will be the biggest November film ever. And maybe some other records, too…

Box Office: 'Catching Fire' Ablaze Friday With $70.5 Million

It’s been a long day for the Mut and the Spud

A Saturday in autumn under a cold November sky.. Hard to believe this is thanksgiving week already. Get some spirits ready and hope for a safe drive no matter where your weekend travels take you.

Good evening everyone.

Photographer wins $1.2 million from companies that took pictures off Twitter

This is a big deal—especially with how often people swipe photos and steal with attribution or permission ..

The internet is evolving to formulate a legal future. Perhaps rulings like this will create some sort of code of ethics…

And in a sense it’s a victory for independent journalists too, those who are doing the reporters’ work for them.
Think of it: how often when breaking news occurs, the networks just start following citizens’ Twitters and blogs.

Now there is a new ground rules. There is fair use—now a court decided to chart a course on legal use.

I think I agree with this decision and wonder secretly of I have ever violated it…

Pretty horrendous … You are what you eat.
I have happily not eaten pork for a while now and I am completely ok with that.

Tyson Foods dumps pig farm after NBC shows company video of alleged abuse

This is an artist’s concept of a gamma ray burst.

I just read this new article about how a recent gamma ray burst completely made 30 years of scientific work go down the toilet.

It amazes me how little we actually know—but equally astounds me when people claim to have answers to things that they don’t. They may have theories.. observations. Hunches.

Pete Spotts with the Christian Science Monitor wrote it up this way:

In October, a team led by Dong Xu, an astrophysicist at the University of Copehagen, found evidence for a stellar explosion, or supernova, at GRB 130427A’s location. The evidence pointed to a type of supernova that involves a star with at least 20 to 30 times the sun’s mass.

Such stars are so large than when they finally collapse, they form black holes. In the process of collapsing, the black hole sends jets of electrons and ionized gas spiraling out along along magnetic fields forming near the black hole’s poles.

These jets punch their way through the turbulent, expanding layers of material the star shed in the explosion and its prelude. And they collide with the interstellar medium – the dust and gas between stars. Collisions inside and outside the expanding layer can generate gamma rays, which tend to be focused in the direction the jets point. This makes the object an extremely bright gamma-ray beacon, if briefly, when the viewing angle is just right.

Indeed, GRB 130427A “topped the charts” in the amount of gamma-ray photons it released, the energy levels some of those photons achieved, total explosion energy, and its gamma-ray brilliance, added Paul Hertz, who heads NASA’s astrophysics division in Washington. At visible wavelengths, the burst was the second brightest GRB researchers have seen.

That made possible the detailed measurements that have left researchers scratching their chins.

For instance, ordinarily, one might expect the gamma-ray photons with the highest energy to appear immediately following the star’s explosion, researchers say. But with GRB 130427A, some of the highest energy photons, including the new record-holder, appeared hours after the blast.

“This is hard to explain with our current models,” Dermer said.

In addition, gamma rays and emissions at visible wavelengths brightened and dimmed in tandem, quite unexpected because theory suggested they come from different regions of the expanding shells of material and thus should have peaked and dimmed at different times.

Finally, theorists had posited different mechanisms for generating gamma rays and X-rays that are part of the light show a long-duration gamma-ray burst puts on. The result should have been a fadeout for the two forms of light punctuated by periods where emissions were interrupted. Instead, the two dimmed smoothly.

So what we thought isn’t the case.

It really never is.

I do not profess to know much about gamma ray busts besides how to sometimes spell the words correctly, but I will say this:  There is a whole lot of shaking going on out there in this massive universe. While we do our daily drives to work, we complain about nonsense, and chow down on fatty fast food, a vast and immense universe is growing, expanding, and bursting at the seems.

Gamma ray bursts.. multiple universes.. Endless possibilities.

Finally.. there’s something me and science agree on: We are left scratching our heads in confusion at the magnificent universe that we’re in, on this small dot planet earth.

Thanks for the jfk links. were you alive 50 years ago?

I was not alive, but love history.

Also, I was 21 during 9/11. So I believe that I—and others who lived through that event—understand what national trauma is..

Ison: The comet of the century?

I place a question mark on the end of that headline because we just don’t know yet if it will be. Lots of stuff has to go right. And it still could go wrong.

If it does go right, though, there will be an amazing spectacle in our dark skies at night.. and maybe day.

Ison will rule the entire Northern Hemisphere ..
Maybe.

Scenes of chaos today in Dallas Texas.

The TV version of the events to honor the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination featured no word of protesters. But they were there, as this video shows. Scuffles between police and protesters were common. As was Alex Jones walking the scene with a bullhorn while he broadcasted live…

Will a 100th anniversary of the JFK murder feature such hard core believers that it was more than one lone gunman, or will history finally re-re-re-write all that we know of that fateful day in Dallas.

After all, even ADMITTED conspiracies get mis-taught. Lincoln was killed by a truly well conceived conspiracy. But schoolkids only know the name of Booth.

And a very interesting story from the NEWS ITEM…

It’s been a long day of grief remembering an assassination that changed America.

End it with some humor.

Inside the Warren Commission and the JFK assassination

The NATIONAL CONSTITUTION CENTER’S article fails to mention a few other snippets of history. Such as the fact that the Warren Commission failed to include testimony of Secret Service agents who swore that the shots came from the Grassy Knoll. Also not mentioned: Powder tests for Oswald were inconclusive as to whether he fired the gun recently..

But we can glorify their distinguished mission and service to America, solving that whole JFK mystery once and for all.

*I hope my sarcasm is evident.*

President Kennedy and Governor Connally were shot in Texas on November 22, 1963. And so was James Tague. He may not have been invited to the November 22 50th anniversary events, but his compelling account may add some doubt to the Warren Commission final result.

Breaking news, 1963 style.

This is ABC news coverage—as it happened—on November 22, 1963.

Chilling.. history relived—even for those who weren’t alive yet to live it.

It’s November 22, 2013. You are about to be doused with and endless barrage of JFK affiliated news today. Endless array of images from that fateful day. You’ll no doubt hear Walter Cronkite tear up as he announces the death of John F. Kennedy.. you’ll also see a scene here and there of President Kennedy’s head exploding in Dallas Texas..
And the conspiracies abound. Or at least the theories did.

Johnson did it.
The limo driver did it.
Oswald acted alone. And then he did not.
A second shooter, double snipers..
Three shots.
Four shots. Five shots. Six shots. Aliens did it. Russia did it. The CIA did it. Connally was the target. Jackie saved the brain. Robert stole the brain.

We have been through a grand fifty years of conspiracy theory—and often conspiracy fact. There are millions of people who did not live through the Kennedy assassination—me included—but have lived with the aftermath. And in a sense, regardless of whether we were born by 1963 or not, we all have seemed to live the assassination over and over, and over and over, and over and over again. Like the endless loop of the “back and to the left” scene in Oliver Stone’s JFK..

All of them claim something different, all of them shed a little more light—sometimes a little less—on the events that took place 50 years ago this Friday in Dallas.

Everything is murky when it comes to this story..

Three shots, with multiple entry wounds and exit wounds—and three people being shot? Possible. Probable? Magic Bullet Arlen is gone to his grave, but he said it was a lone assassin with a lone miracle bullet, twisting and turning in the wind and the bones of a deceased President..

There are times during these anniversaries that we glorify an exhausted leader. But Kennedy was flawed, may have at least attempted to steal an election in 1960—then again, Nixon did, too. His now praised actions in the Bay of Pigs affair really didn’t go the way history tells it exactly did....
There is so much allure of Kennedy—so much grandiose praise.. so many conspiracy theories.

But Stephen King perhaps summed up best, perhaps, in his book 11/22/63. A section went:

For a moment everything was clear, and when that happens you see that the world is barely there at all. Don’t we all secretly know this? It’s a perfectly balanced mechanism of shouts and echoes pretending to be wheels and cogs, a dream clock chiming beneath a mystery glass we call life. Behind it? Below it and around it? Chaos, storms. . A universe of horror and loss surrounding a single lighted stage where mortals dance in defiance of the dark."

How true..
How very true.

On to the news of the day—normally worse no matter how much better we want it to be.

Sirius business: The Bell tolls for Art. It's over.

There is a major update in the fight between Art Bell and Sirius radio over his non compete clause. It’s not what Bell’s fans wanted to hear..

Art Bell wrote this on BELLGAB tonight, in total:

Hi there everybody. Well it is a sad day for me indeed. I got a call from the Manager I have been working
with since the start of all this and the answer was NO. The further answer was they do intend to hold me
to a NC. This Manager is a good guy and what decisions that were made, were made above his head.

I did contact a Lawyer who I will not identify unless he wants to be known but I can proudly tell you he is
one of you! He was willing to proceed and felt we had a good chance to win BUT it is expensive and as any
of you know who have ever gone down that road know, it takes a long time. So if my health holds I will see you in less than two Years.

Below is a copy of my last email to Sirius/XM minus the name of the Manager to who it was sent:

First, you may recall I said to you that I thought you would not get much of a bump from putting Coast on, was I right?
Have you actually listened to that show? Have you REALLY listened? You put him on 104 which was I guess a nice way to get back at me, but that guy is a joke. How many people rushed to put any money down to listen to Coast on 104? I  bet nobody, all this plus they are doing what I asked for and more!

1. I said what I would like is to be back on but wanted to stream for free, but leave the value added stuff to Sirius/XM    you said no. As it stands now I presume the streaming still does not work properly and will not, till at best August or    so. You said this was a good idea for me but not Sirius. I disagree, if we develop millions of listener’s, in what World    is that bad for Sirius in any way? If you can charge BIG bucks per commercial minute…..Broadcasting 101, it’s a good thing.

2. We talked about one day with streaming, I asked about other days, you said we could talk about that, we never did.

3. As it stands now people MUST pay about $180.00 a Year if they want to hear Art Bell, why not allow listeners the option of JUST     streaming my show for a lesser fee? It could be pro rated, IF it just worked properly.

4. I said I would be willing to buy the Studio gear for whatever you paid if I could be released from my Non Compete, I have not yet    heard a answer to that one, though you did once say you would not let me go, you sent me a reply saying you would consider it.

5. I can wait out the remaining time, then stream, which it looks like I will be doing at 70 Years of age.

I just for the life of me can not see why everything with Sirius/XM has to be lumped together in a Business model that works for non
commercial music just fine, but lumps Talk Radio in with it. I understand why it works for Howard, he had little choice unless he
wanted to keep paying fines. I don’t know about Dr. Laura.

Two things I can tell you about me, every time I crack the mike I put 110% into it, it takes a lot of work and I am willing to give my time
and energy happily but not if I have no way to grow the audience. I have millions of people waiting for a way to hear me and they would pay
something to do so, but asking them to become subs for $180.00 bucks a Year with a service that does not work well will not get them there.

The other thing is Coast, I will not share time with them. I thought hard about that, and there is no way I would rejoin under any conditions
while you carry them. The reason I came back on is because that show is a insult to the entire field, not to mention at least 45% of it is
commercial or breaks of some sort while the rest is just plain bad Radio.

I truly enjoyed working with you and everybody else at Sirius/XM and wish there was a way to work this out. I understand you think the way
forward is exclusive content and perhaps you are right but in my opinion the World will pass you very shortly while trying to hold on to this
model. It really already is. Nobody tried to stop all the Pirates, every one of my shows was and is available for download the next day, great
for the guy who doesn’t want to pay but not so great for the Talk Host who wants the live calls, how does this make sense???

                                                                                                                                              Art

So, there it is. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank all of you for so much support. I wish it had worked out
in some way but there were forces at work that I never thought about, I am just a talking head……..

SO it is over.
Perhaps a final goodbye in text from the great Art Bell?
Could he really hold a desire at the age of 70 to return after a brutal fight with Sirius radio over a non compete clause?

His words about Coast to Coast AM echo true.. It’s a blatantly awful show when compared to what it once was. The bumper music and the sounds of thunder hold vacant hope that you’ll hear Art Bell’s mysterious voice in the still of the night.. but instead a loud bellow of John Wells or a lucid thoughtless George Noory puff their way into the morning.
That’s what has now happened.

Six weeks of Bell and he saw his shadow—we all did.

We now have a litany of past programs.. things from ‘then.’ But that was then. This is now.
And the now has no Art Bell.

This final serenade on Sirius may be it. 70 is the new 50 .. but 70 is still 70.

The #FreeArtBell campaign appears to be over. So much for that woman who bought the domain name. What will she do now?
That’s besides the point.
The point is we just lost a pioneer in radio, a voice of reason at midnight, and a powerful force in a lot of people’s collective lives.
Good show(s) Art.
We will miss you.
And if we hear you in two years, that’s great.
But that’s an if…

MARY, PARAMOUNT WANTS ITS MOVIE BACK

It’s not such a wonderful life.. A sequel is planned to the classic Christmas movie. And Paramount may take legal action!

They are attempting to block the sequel to IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE because they own the rights to the 1946 classic..

Star Partners and Hummingbird Prods already was lining up a cast and crew.

Hopefully their life stays wonderful—but actually I also anticipate this movie may not get made. And should it? I say no.
It never really was a wonderful life anyway.

Another stake in the heart of the 1990s and Internet infancy: AOL is now officially going to shut down Winamp.

Blockbuster closing killed the 1980s, Winamp’s death kills the 1990s once and for all (with Geocities gone, it was already on life support).

I get new technology comes and old goes.. but pause in a brief moment of silence for Winamp.

It served us well when the days of the net were new..

It did good.

A lot of weather models are predicting THIS for Thanksgiving. The blue isn’t rain. As you’d expect when arctic air invades. This particular run is the European Model.

As for the chances of this happening? I’d still go with maybe..oh..a 20% likelihood.

Too much has to come together in a perfect manner to  make it snow big.

And to be honest, I’m not a kid anymore, so I really don’t care for snow when millions of people are traveling..

One thing so far this soon to be winter I have noticed: The 7 to 10 day forecasts have been completely misguided and inaccurate. Weather model runs are going nuts with the wrong forecasts..

Shame shame we know your game: BP is now paying online trolls to harass critics.

TIME magazine hits this week with a ‘broken promise’ Obamacare cover. At least on American newsstands. It shows that, in the medical industry when someone tells you it won’t hurt a bit, it’s going to hurt like hell.

On an completely unrelated note: I thought the juxtoposition of headers on the top of the cover had some unintended humor: What boys want followed by the Yellen Fed made me chuckle. Yellen knows what boys want.

And don’t even get me started on a major once respected news magazine covering ‘Candy Crush’ ..

This entire idea makes me sick.. The Slaying of Sandy Hook is a new game you’re sure to hear about. The game allows you to reenact Adam Lanza’s murderous rampage of innocent children .. A timer ticks down while you shoot the stick figures—the time representing the moment police arrive. You also get compared to the actual kill amount from Sandy Hook.. And to make the game even more insulting to humanity: You can play the game in ‘gun control mode’ ..

I contend that you should be free to make whatever kind of game you see fit. And the public, the marketplace, should see fit to buy it or not.

However, when sick games like this come around, I fear the market will enable it to continue too long.

The biggest insult of all: It’s a gun control game.

So you take a few moments to kill as many children as possible—all then to be lectured that gun control would have stopped Lanza from doing it? Guns that his mother purchased legally? Guns he stole from her to do the crime?

We are coming up to a one year anniversary already of the Sandy Hook massacre. I still think about the horrible event and the ruined Christmas season of 2012. It was the nightmare that stole Christmas.

For those who were deeply affected by the nightmare, this game now exists … downloadable and playable. There’s no faces on the stick figures. But family members know who they are.

And it’s great. It sums up this year perfect, and makes our holiday season more realistic, it actually made ME stressed out just listening to it. Good ballad.

Technology has finally passed the 'creepy' line territory. And it won't stop there

Google has applied for a patent, #20130297301 that may be creepier than a horror movie. They have the grand idea for a tattoo on your neck that can perceive when you are lying..

If you don’t believe the words you’re reading, you can go directly to the US PATENT and TRADEMARK office website and read the November 7, 2013, entry for yourself right here.

To better understand what they are asking for, TRUTHSTREAMMEDIA has put together some of the money quotes to describe the nanotechnology that is coming. The richest of the money quotes chosen here:

A system and method provides auxiliary voice input to a mobile communication device (MCD). The system comprises an electronic skin tattoo capable of being applied to a throat region of a body. The electronic skin tattoo can include an embedded microphone; a transceiver for enabling wireless communication with the MCD; and a power supply configured to receive energizing signals from a personal area network associated with the MCD. A controller is communicatively coupled to the power supply. The controller can be configured to receive a signal from the MCD to initiate reception of an audio stream picked up from the throat region of the body for subsequent audio detection by the MCD under an improved signal-to-noise ratio than without the employment of the electronic skin tattoo.

The patent request goes on:

Optionally, the electronic skin tattoo 200 can further include a galvanic skin response detector to detect skin resistance of a user. It is contemplated that a user that may be nervous or engaging in speaking falsehoods may exhibit different galvanic skin response than a more confident, truth telling individual.

A major hat tip is necessary for DAILY SHEEPLE on uncovering this story—though really it is a truth hidden in plain sight before our very eyes.

I don’t think it’s going to just stop here, either.

Nanotechnology is the beginning of something wonderful and amazing. Grand possibilities.. Beautiful inventions. Creative futures..and healing powers that can rid the world of disease and devils.

Or it can create devils and heartache, evil and wretchedness. This Google invention has some amazing possibilities. And some horrible consequential possibilities.

Truth be told—or behold—we are in for something big with this, and other, forms of nanotechnology.

This morning I read the story that computers have now gained an edge, thinking and solving problems without their masters making them. This new story of a lie detector on the throat is even more amazing—and pervasive.

Just because one can does not mean one should.
But we will anyway.

Are we ready for this future? Are we prepared to reap what we sow? You better be honest. Santa Claus is watching, and so will the Google throat truth detector. For better or worse.

THE WHOLE TRUTH—the TWILIGHT ZONE

US and UK struck secret deal to allow NSA to 'unmask' Britons' personal data

It all happened in 2007—Bush was president.

I have often said no supporters of Bush that the Patriot Act and other surveillance policies would end up coming back to hurt someone or harm something. It did.

George W. Bush was on Jay Leno last night. He made lots of people miss him. But regardless of his personal or Africa policies, it did much to change the nation forever.

An example is this, a 2007 agreement to not only continue the surveillance of Americans, but also British citizens who also committed no crimes.

Teen 'knockout game' continues to harm innocent people

There have been lots of weird trends over the years. I actually remember a few years back, videos surfaced showing people randomly beating up homeless people. There was sadly little outrage because—no matter how many people profess to love all no matter their conditions—may don’t want to have anything to do with the homeless, impoverished, sick, or downtrodden.

But the new weird fetish that some teens have now developed involves ganging up on innocent people and just, well, knocking them down to cause harm.

Today the DRUDGE REPORT linked to a story about it, and I noticed immediately afterwards, several other news sources wrote their own stories on it. So expect it to spread in popularity…

The purpose of the game, at least to be victorious, is to have the ONE HITTER QUITTER. That’s right. A solid hit that will take down an unsuspecting person.

A human being.

Call me a romantic, but say what you want about war, and battles, and fights, at least in the ‘old days’ you can argue that a good street fight carried a purpose. Misguided purpose maybe.. But a random hit to an innocent report? That is not a purpose..

That’s a mental sickness. It’s a worm of evil crawling in the collective consciousness of humanity.

The kids may be bored, but they sure aren’t alright.

Watch you back, everyone..

This is shocking, sickening, and disturbing..

This truly gruesome assault did not stop until one of the woman’s minor children walked in, the child heard her screaming in agony.

ARTBELL.COM is live streaming a test show right now

It’s called the SPEC SHEET, a show hosted by Michael Vandeven—the man who also runs the fan site BELLGAB.COM .. The audio quality is loud and clear.. Some on the FACEBOOK page are confused as to why Art Bell is not on the DARK MATTER network .. but there’s a pesky non compete clause that I assume he’s working to get out of first.

In the mean time if you’re free right now, tune into the SPEC SHEET on the live stream. It’s a pretty good show, and a truly great achievement for Vandeven .. congrats to him.

Oh boy.

COULD THIS BE THE GIF OF THE YEAR?

…it will be, unless Rob Ford decides to do something even crazier than knocking down an elderly woman at a Toronto council meeting.

And he just may.

Are there any public relations firms in Canada? Moreover..any that would want to help Rob Ford?

More insanity in Canada as the Toronto mayor could lose more council votes..

Ford says he is quitting drinking and turning to Jesus. But before he did that, he also pushed over an elderly council member..

This guy is worse than the SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE impersonation of him..He has become a parody of himself..

HEADS UP!

The amazing failure: SPIDERMAN the Broadway musical to conclude this year.

It never could have worked, in my opinion..

Fan boys aren’t going to go to a Broadway musical—and not everything should be a musical.

Of course BUFFY fans may still say the musical episode was the best of the show, but I will say that the same fans who liked BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER are not the fans who like Spiderman.. This musical was simply doomed by the onset.

And what made the likelihood of it failing even more clear: Regardless of the risky gamble that that Jeremiah Harris took, it still ended up being the most expensive musical to produce.

People go to Broadway for RENT, and CATS. Not spiders.

Rumors continue to persist that Brittany Murphy was poisoned..

Father of Murphy claims that spies took revenge..

I don’t know why she died, or how she died, but every time I see a movie from the past in which she appeared or starred, I am reminded of how much the acting world lost with her untimely passing.. Her talent was always present..

I am really behind the times on the bagel in the head surgery

My sister and I discuss world events on a regular basis.. Tonight she referenced the ‘bagel in the head’ operation that people in Japan are getting. I was stunned, aghast..confused. Amazed.

Yes, and I realized, I am about a year behind the times. Hell, even Anderson Cooper put this on his Ridiculist in 2012.. I missed it all.

Here is the predication: A new trend in Japan is to have a bagel head surgery. And people are so dedicated to the trend that they get a two-hour saline drip to implant the bagel-shaped welts on their foreheads.. It was pioneered in Canada but made popular in Japan—at least that is what Wikipedia taught me tonight.

But it’s not a permanent wheat-like appearance. A day after the process, your head does in fact go back to normal.

Some people get one bagel. Some get two.

I have been perusing Google images for a bit this evening and I realize that I completely missed this inane trend.

But it did slightly make me hungry for Panera Bread.

So is this still a trend? Or have the bagels soured?

Inquiring bagel heads want to know.

If you can walk 3000 miles, Karl Bushby could walk 36,000 more.

Karl Bushby is not an ordinary hiker..

He is an ex-British paratrooper..he’s an adventurer.

He’s an explorer. That is everything his Twitter description says — but follow him for a few minutes and you’ll see he is much, much more than just those brief words.

Karl Bushby began walking at age 29—that was in 1998. His hike began in Chile, and as his own website describes, he only had $300 in his pocket..He continued his trek to North America.. he also completed the first ever recording crossing on foot of the Bering Strait. It was then on to Siberia.. And Asia. And Europe.

20,000 miles strong so far— and his goal for the 15-stretch is 36,000.

He’s almost there..At least more than halfway home, in a sense..

As all things go in modern times, social media is the way to find information about Bushby.. He is followed by almost 2,000 people at this time on Twitter.. he is updating in real time—an amazing thing if you compare his first journey in 1998 to now. Just a little over a decade later, there is so much that has changed in the world—and for Bushby, who can now stay in contact with the world even though he is meeting just one person at a time..

Bushby’s website says he has met lots of people—and stated “99.9%” of them are good.

At this point in the walk, Karl Bushby is making a 3,000 mile hike from Los Angeles to the Russian embassy in Washington D.C. He has a plan—and a hope—to get a visa and be permitted to complete the longest continuous walk in modern history..

I was alerted to this journey by a faithful reader—hat tip to JoyL for alerting me to something I wish I would have been following prior to this..

This week, Las Vegas WEEKLY featured a good write-up about Bushby’s journey, reporting that he has defied odds and had an ‘unbroken path that would make history’.. Just today, MOTHER NATURE NETWORK repotrted on his walk..

There is something very amazing about this man’s voyage..

It began last century.

Since then we have sped up in our lives ..

We zoom through our earthly vessel like a fireball in the sky.

But not Bushby.. He takes his time.

He walk.

He discovers.

He takes the time to see his surroundings—become salt of the earth and at the same time depend on it..

It’s very poetic what he is doing..

Your attention to his passage on earth is truly recommended.

An AP photo taken today by Alex Kareotes shows the extent of damages from a tornado outbreak in Washington, ILL.

This may be one of the strongest (if not the strongest) severe weather systems ever for November.

The night is not over yet.. the storms are moving through Pennsylvania now and strong winds are coming.

In COALSPEAKER land, I imagine a 3am power outage may be in store .. if not that, high winds may wake the household.

But it is nothing even close to the disaster and destruction that the Midwest saw today..

There are so many towns that have been destroyed.. at least partially, if not in full.

Something slaughtered Russian hikers in 1959...

But to this, no one is quite sure what did. Tonight, George Knapp takes us back in time to try to find out..

Some background may be in order..

The event is termed the Dyatlov Pass incident. It’s been a famed target of paranormal and UFO investigators for some time. The entire affair is shrouded with mystery.

Nine hikers, who were experienced in their craft, died in some pretty bizarre ways in 1959.  Human tracks were found heading downhill. The temperature was minus 24 at the time the hikers were on the Russia Ural Mountains—the local language named the mountain “Do not Go There.” The tracks that were found were strange mainly because, in the conditions, they were barefoot. Barefoot—minus 24 and barefoot tracks were found.. Think about that one for a minute.

Thinks get even weirder, though.

Seven men and two women were said to be experienced hikers.. history tells us that they were in the snow-capped Ural Mountains. Cold.. beautiful.. and deadly for all nine of them, as they never lived to tell the tale of their venture. Instead, their bodies were found in various locations, frozen in the conditions.. Some of them also had horrid internal injuries, but yet their outside physical appearance showed no wounds or scratches. They also had high levels of radiation present ion some of their clothes. One person found dead was missing a tongue. They were prematurely aged—their hair was gray…

If you should want to learn some more, you can easily find information and theories online..

Typically, as things go, people claim UFOs are behind it. They also say Soviet weapons did it. Some claim Bigfoot. A plethora of explanations of the strange—but the real strange thing of this whole affair is that we don’t know what did it..

Tonight on Coast to Coast AM, George Knapp will attempt to find out.  I am eagerly looking forward to this program.. I think Knapp will do it justice, and I can’t wait to hear some theories proposed by Keith McCloskey, who wrote a book on the incident called MOUNTAIN OF THE DEAD.

Listen in should you have the chance..
Unless the story is just too creepy to handle.

Murder trial in Florida: Joke about actress Megan Fox led to son’s murder of father

Jason Beckman talked about killing his father for some time. But in 2009, when he dad made a joke that his son would not ‘know what to do with taht [Megan Fox]’, he killed him.

The MIAMI HERALD money quote:

Jason Beckman, on trial for killing his politician father in April 2009, confided to fellow jail inmates that just before the shooting, the young man had asked his father about the raven-hairedTransformers star.

“His father told him he wouldn’t know what to do with that,” the inmate, Michael Nistal, told Miami-Dade jurors.

Beckman, who prosecutors say talked openly for years about hating his father, grew enraged. “So he went and got a shotgun and blew his head off. He missed his head and shot his face and part of his neck,” the inmate said.

Heads up for the Mid-Mississippi & Ohio Valleys and southern Great Lakes Region: Today may be filled with violent, severe weather

It’s mid November. It will feel like mid-spring—and the skies above will be just as confused.. it’s not severe weather season but today will be severe in some places.

That is strong wind.. and that severe weather.. And it is a dangerous situation brewing—hopefully one that will not happen as the NOAA predicts.

Here are the latest warnings nationwide.

And keep in mind that major areas like Chicago and Indianapolis are facing tornado threats today.

Accuweather is running an up to the minute live blog on the weather conditions.

Stay tuned. Be safe.

Be alert.

And as always, be prepared as best you can..
