Exploding Star: New Supernova Discovery Is Closest in Years

Also amazing to know: It was first discovered by university students in London.

It’s visible in the Northern Hemisphere between the Big Dipper and the Little Dipper. The last greatest view the earth had of this type of event was in 1987..

Very cool stuff in the night sky.

The supermoon rises.

Hopefully not a bad moon rising.

A beautiful scene from my window. Hopefully the view of the moon is just as wonderful where you are.. Moments like this make me just focus my eyes on the sky and wonder just what else is out there millions of billions of light years away that we will never know..

THE MOON IS BRIGHT...

If you are on the great North American continent, and the sky is clear, peak outside the window and stare at the moon.. the bright light up above is beautiful this evening. Stars are shining in my little town. Hope they are for you, too.

Cue the STARGAZER theme song from PBS.
