A BIG WEATHER PATTERN CHANGE COMING.. THE HOG WON’T KNOW WHAT HITS HIM..

Seriously.. we are going from a mild winter to a suddenly cold and snowy one here in the East ..  This weather model you’re looking at for example shows what MAY be a February 6ish storm along the coast, Nor’Easter potential… Blizzard condition potential.

The big thing will be a bout of not one but SEVERAL storms that can do the same run along land and water .. 

The battle line will now be about where the rain and snow falls..

Good morning. A view from my jeep window.. supposedly in spring.

It may not happen but it’s sure worth seeing. If this particular weather model run from yesterday proves true, it will be a white Easter with a potential blizzard along the East Coast..

Yes, you read that right.

Not much confidence is in the model at this point.. but April is still a time when snow could fall—never discount the chance of it occurring by fluke.. April showers.. rain or snow. Hopefully May flowers will follow.

The final snow day?

YES… IT’S SPRING.. DESPITE THIS.

Kaia Bonshock, left, Brooke Hovenstine, Kelsee Dunn and Mackenzie Hasuga, freshmen members of the Shamokin Area High School girls’ softball team, decided to practice on their own in a parking lot for Kemp Memorial Stadium on Friday, despite an early dismissal from school because of snow. The team’s first regular season game is tentatively set for 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and will be played in Kemp Memorial Stadium, instead of the team’s field because it is not ready for play.

Here is the sight from this weekend’s weather forecast.. anything pink and purple are winter weather somethings. And there are lots of them, storms are a plenty..

The season is almost ready to change. I hear song birds in the morning now and the noon sun—when it is out—is strong.. But until the spring blossoms bloom, it’s going to be considerably cold and snowy. That continues, obviously, this weekend. 

I think the second week of March will be a transition..

Let’s see how good I do with that forecast..

Two news events taking place in the weather department today.. First off, there is a possibility that the storm, Cristobal, will become a threat to the United States next week..MORE HERE. Notable news: Most models are not taking this towards New Orleans or New York City as they were previously, but some have it dangerously close to the East Coast.. while others have a Florida impact. Models will soon come together..until then it’s anyone’s guess.

But what is not a guess: Montana and Wyoming are bracing for SNOW! That’s right.. winter beginning before the fall even happens for these two states.. It’s not a sign of the end of the world—but it’s about three weeks ahead of schedule.

I think too often we look at weather anomalies and scream “proof” of climate Armageddon

. Sometimes these freak events occur, and just eventually get used to ‘average’ things out.. we have averages because it’s the middle of the highs and lows that have happened.

But… snow in August? That is a little weird.

It’s spring dammit. And that’s how I’m dressing.

Pretty certain that this is not how the end of March should be looking, but it is exactly how it looks here in Northern Schuylkill County tonight..

Amazing information to contemplate.. if that big blizzard this week would have tracked just a bit closer to the coastline, it would have equaled if not exceeded the damage caused by Superstorm Sandy..

It will be a storm studied for years..

It is almost unthinkable, but it appears that a flow of air straight from the Arctic will develop again

Reports from tens of thousands of bird-counting volunteers show a southern invasion of Arctic-dwelling snowy owls has spread to 25 states, and frigid cold is causing unusual movements of waterfowl.

Pretty impressive stats, I’d say.

The Official Forecast of the U.S. Government Never Saw This Winter Coming

…..but for what it’s worth, the Farmer’s Almanac and the large furry critters that cross the road did.

And so did Accuweather—which seems to be so far ahead of the game on the NOAA all the time…

This is just how WRONG the government was. (Maybe they were too busy writing the code to HEALTHCARE.GOV?)

COME ON BABY LIGHT MY FIRE: Unless you lived under a rock, or in a snow bank, you have been seeing oodles upon oodles of videos posted within the last 48 hours of residents of the South trying to light their snow on fire.. There are rumors of “fake snow,” and military geo-engineered precipitation.. The snow does not melt, and it turns black.. And ever sinceJanuary 30, these videos have been going viral .. It appears very few people understand sublimation, which is most likely the culprit in most of the videos being posted.. Also people who are seeing this storm may never have seen snow in person before.. And finally, we have become a nation that sees long chemical trails being left in the sky and we have become paranoid.. But as Clyde Lewis asked on his radio show GROUND ZERO last night, why in the world did someone figure they’d try to light their snow on fire to begin with and how did this go viral!?
