There was sadly little outrage because—no matter how many people profess to love all no matter their conditions—may don’t want to have anything to do with the homeless, impoverished, sick, or downtrodden.
But the new weird fetish that some teens have now developed involves ganging up on innocent people and just, well, knocking them down to cause harm.
Today the DRUDGE REPORT linked to a story about it, and I noticed immediately afterwards, several other news sources wrote their own stories on it. So expect it to spread in popularity…
The purpose of the game, at least to be victorious, is to have the ONE HITTER QUITTER. That’s right. A solid hit that will take down an unsuspecting person.

Call me a romantic, but say what you want about war, and battles, and fights, at least in the ‘old days’ you can argue that a good street fight carried a purpose. Misguided purpose maybe.. But a random hit to an innocent report? That is not a purpose..

It never could have worked, in my opinion..
Fan boys aren’t going to go to a Broadway musical—and not everything should be a musical.
Of course BUFFY fans may still say the musical episode was the best of the show, but I will say that the same fans who liked BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER are not the fans who like Spiderman.. This musical was simply doomed by the onset.
And what made the likelihood of it failing even more clear: Regardless of the risky gamble that that Jeremiah Harris took, it still ended up being the most expensive musical to produce.

I am really behind the times on the bagel in the head surgery
My sister and I discuss world events on a regular basis.. Tonight she referenced the ‘bagel in the head’ operation that people in Japan are getting. I was stunned, aghast..confused. Amazed.
Yes, and I realized, I am about a year behind the times. Hell, even Anderson Cooper put this on his Ridiculist in 2012.. I missed it all.
Here is the predication: A new trend in Japan is to have a bagel head surgery. And people are so dedicated to the trend that they get a two-hour saline drip to implant the bagel-shaped welts on their foreheads.. It was pioneered in Canada but made popular in Japan—at least that is what Wikipedia taught me tonight.
But it’s not a permanent wheat-like appearance. A day after the process, your head does in fact go back to normal.
Some people get one bagel. Some get two.
I have been perusing Google images for a bit this evening and I realize that I completely missed this inane trend.
But it did slightly make me hungry for Panera Bread.
So is this still a trend? Or have the bagels soured?
Inquiring bagel heads want to know.

Karl Bushby is not an ordinary hiker..
He is an ex-British paratrooper..he’s an adventurer.
He’s an explorer. That is everything his Twitter description says — but follow him for a few minutes and you’ll see he is much, much more than just those brief words.
Karl Bushby began walking at age 29—that was in 1998. His hike began in Chile, and as his own website describes, he only had $300 in his pocket..He continued his trek to North America.. he also completed the first ever recording crossing on foot of the Bering Strait. It was then on to Siberia.. And Asia. And Europe.
20,000 miles strong so far— and his goal for the 15-stretch is 36,000.
He’s almost there..At least more than halfway home, in a sense..
As all things go in modern times, social media is the way to find information about Bushby.. He is followed by almost 2,000 people at this time on Twitter.. he is updating in real time—an amazing thing if you compare his first journey in 1998 to now. Just a little over a decade later, there is so much that has changed in the world—and for Bushby, who can now stay in contact with the world even though he is meeting just one person at a time..
Bushby’s website says he has met lots of people—and stated “99.9%” of them are good.
At this point in the walk, Karl Bushby is making a 3,000 mile hike from Los Angeles to the Russian embassy in Washington D.C. He has a plan—and a hope—to get a visa and be permitted to complete the longest continuous walk in modern history..

This may be one of the strongest (if not the strongest) severe weather systems ever for November.
The night is not over yet.. the storms are moving through Pennsylvania now and strong winds are coming.
In COALSPEAKER land, I imagine a 3am power outage may be in store .. if not that, high winds may wake the household.
But it is nothing even close to the disaster and destruction that the Midwest saw today..
There are so many towns that have been destroyed.. at least partially, if not in full.
Something slaughtered Russian hikers in 1959...
But to this, no one is quite sure what did. Tonight, George Knapp takes us back in time to try to find out..
Some background may be in order..
The event is termed the Dyatlov Pass incident. It’s been a famed target of paranormal and UFO investigators for some time. The entire affair is shrouded with mystery.
Nine hikers, who were experienced in their craft, died in some pretty bizarre ways in 1959. Human tracks were found heading downhill. The temperature was minus 24 at the time the hikers were on the Russia Ural Mountains—the local language named the mountain “Do not Go There.” The tracks that were found were strange mainly because, in the conditions, they were barefoot. Barefoot—minus 24 and barefoot tracks were found.. Think about that one for a minute.
Thinks get even weirder, though.
Seven men and two women were said to be experienced hikers.. history tells us that they were in the snow-capped Ural Mountains. Cold.. beautiful.. and deadly for all nine of them, as they never lived to tell the tale of their venture. Instead, their bodies were found in various locations, frozen in the conditions.. Some of them also had horrid internal injuries, but yet their outside physical appearance showed no wounds or scratches. They also had high levels of radiation present ion some of their clothes. One person found dead was missing a tongue. They were prematurely aged—their hair was gray…

Typically, as things go, people claim UFOs are behind it. They also say Soviet weapons did it. Some claim Bigfoot. A plethora of explanations of the strange—but the real strange thing of this whole affair is that we don’t know what did it..
Tonight on Coast to Coast AM, George Knapp will attempt to find out. I am eagerly looking forward to this program.. I think Knapp will do it justice, and I can’t wait to hear some theories proposed by Keith McCloskey, who wrote a book on the incident called MOUNTAIN OF THE DEAD.

Jason Beckman talked about killing his father for some time. But in 2009, when he dad made a joke that his son would not ‘know what to do with taht [Megan Fox]’, he killed him.

The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center has issued an extremely serious “Particularly Dangerous Situation” alert for an extremely violent…
It’s mid November. It will feel like mid-spring—and the skies above will be just as confused.. it’s not severe weather season but today will be severe in some places.
The threats in this area today include:
-Several intense tornadoes likely
-Several large hail events likely with a few very large hail events to 2” in diameter possible
-Several damaging wind gusts with a few significant gusts to 80mph possible.
That is strong wind.. and that severe weather.. And it is a dangerous situation brewing—hopefully one that will not happen as the NOAA predicts.
Here are the latest warnings nationwide.
And keep in mind that major areas like Chicago and Indianapolis are facing tornado threats today.

Pop tarts and breasts: Strange bed time tales.
When my wife and I put my son Ayden to bed, it gets a little dull just reading the same old bed time stories time and time again.. We spice things up. My version of a bed time tale is to take Ayden on a wild ride of bizarre imagination—rainbows and elephants made of pink fish, sometimes ladders made of toothpicks and skies melting with chocolate clouds.
Tonight I realized how inane my stories can often be. Ayden was taking particularly long to get to sleep.. My rambling bed time chat became, well to put it bluntly, just stupid. I was grasping for straws.. Each time I thought I was done, Ayden asked for another story.
At one point, I recall saying roughly these words:
And then Ayden jumped on his lollipop and flew to pop tart mountain. Before he got there, he told himself,
'Today was very good,
Today was quite a treat,
But I must increase my bust,
Before I fall asleep.
What!?
Yes.. I’m running dry no child-friendly accounts.. I need some new material.
Maybe I will just start reading him WAR AND PEACE and see how far we get.
Meanwhile it’s time to gas up the lollipop plane and get ready to do some Saturday night bust increases.

My children are decomposing
This is a quote from Juvelyn Taniega as reported by CNN today.. She is in the Philippines and because of the slowness of recovery, she is now forced to watch as the bodies of her children decompose in front of her..
CNN reports it this way:
Juvelyn Taniega tried to keep busy. She collected old dishes and cleaned them, crouching near where her home once stood and the place where she last saw her husband and six children alive. She’s found the bodies of three of her children, but three of them are still missing. In days, she said, no one has come to help. “My children are decomposing,” she said. There are many like her, looking in disbelief over miles of fields full of crushed wood and stone that once stood as houses, wondering if her missing loved ones are buried in them.
I cannot even fathom the heartbreak and emotion of this.. I cannot even understand or grasp the suffering that so many are going through right now.
Whether there is a god or not, there is certainly reason to doubt the kindness of nature.. and God. We have seen suffering on massive scales before. Hell even the dinosaurs had a miserable existence extinguished by a hellstorm from above. Does the earth itself just hate us?
There has always been hurt, loss, suffering, and sadness. But through it all there has also been a monstrous amount of love and goodness.
The only hope that people in the Philippines have right now is that there will be enough love to overcome the misery..and the decomposing bodies under their feet.

Remember yesterday that Philippine official who got fired for saying the death toll from Haiyan would end up being 10,000? How dare he? Such radical claims? We are getting ever so much closer to that number now, with almost 4,000 counted as casualties from the storm at this point.. The number of injured stands at 12,165.. With conditions deteriorating, things may be worse for those who actually lived through the storm. Some places are becoming hell no earth, with people fighting and scrambling to survive..

My take after reading this article.. And it’s a lengthy take:
My paternal grandmother died in 1997. I dreamed of her often, but she herself was never present in a dream.. only her empty house and vacant garden. A few weeks ago, for the first time, I dreamed of her and she was there—hugging me and telling me she loved me. I wrote about this on this site when it happened.
In the dream, when I asked her if there was a God, I woke up from the slumber without ever hearing an answer.. Last night, my sister (who also never had a dream she was in) had a night vision of our grandmother. . this time she was at an outdoor cafe in New York City. My sister knew it was her because she saw her red fingernails on a hand clenching a menu.
Maybe this is the Catholic guilt within me, but the first thing I wondered “was she released from Purgatory.” Once I snapped from my age old grade school fears of sin, I then wondered.. why now? Why these visions? Why did she hug me and where was she for so much time? And why, why the HELL, did I wake up before hearing an answer as to whether or not there was a God!? …
This is a fascinating story from DISCOVER: Do we live in the Matrix? They report in this article that tests could reveal if we actually do live in a simulation of events. But they also ask the question: Would we want to know? And that question ties in with what I asked my grandmother about in the dream she appeared in.. Was there a God? I didn’t get an answer—maybe I did, and my brain just registered nothing. Perhaps we don’t need to know.. we have time to find out after we die.. or before we are born again..
And as far as an afterlife, just one more: Robert Lanza is a scientist who claims that modern physics proves an afterlife. That’s quite a statement to make.. He argues that life creates the universe, not the other way around. He also says space and time don’t exist as we think they do.
It’s noteworthy to remember this: The big bang did not create something, it created nothing. It created ‘space’ and ‘nothing’ where, prior to that, there was presumably an absence of ‘nothing.’ That concept took me years to somewhat understand, but I always lose an understanding of it every time I begin to grapple with the concept again. Just imagine, the creation of ‘nothing.’ There are sounds to silence, to maybe there is something in nothing. It’s all so confusing.
Is it a matrix?
And are we creating it?

I will first say I was one of the biggest Andy Kaufman fans. . truly .. He was a genius and a master in his field—his genre was either wrestling, comedy, or …whatever he decided it would be..

On one hand, you can show young professionals without insurance, struggling to get by, working long hours, trying to make ends meet for their families, and battling to stay healthy—Obamacare comes along and now can aid them in their struggles. Or, on the other hand, you can just remind them that they can have more sex. Apparently that is what Colorado Consumer Health Initiative, along with the ProgressNow Colorado Education, are doing in their ‘thank Obamacare’ campaign.. they decided to go with a new advertising campaign, aimed at 20 somethings, telling them that when you find out your partner has insurance through the affordable health care act, you can bang him/her. A history of inspiring government propaganda now being replaced with sex..
The only catch to all this? Porn sites are typically user friendly. Healthcare.gov is not.. Good luck finding a mate.
This is an amazing story being reported this morning .. Andy Kaufman’s brother has now stated that his brother is alive.. And even more, there is awoman claiming to be hid daughter! All known information said that Andy Kaufman, the legendary comic, died of lung cancer. The movie MAN NO THE MOON seems to show Kaufman’s real battle in the end with the disease.. However, we also know that some have spoken of Kaufman’s then obsession that would fake his own death. And now family and purported family are saying he is alive and well.. ET was originally going to be a horror movie..
Interesting story..
I actually think ET works, a bit, as a horror film—even though it became more a drama than fright.
There were so many elements that, even though I cried as a kid watching it, I was a little freaked out and scared.. There was the haunting image of the suburb at sunset where ET and Eliot are walking the streets in Halloween costumes. That scene of Halloween at dusk was even more frightening to me than scenes in horror movies. And I don’t know why..

You know it’s funny.. Two fellow old co workers have intense ailments and talk about them frequently. I think negative talks actually makes me have ailments. It’s like a plant hearing negative sounds, it doesn’t grow right ..

do you live in centralia?
I lived there originally in my life. We moved back last century. I still visit. My roots are there, regardless of how few buildings are.. My memories from childhood remain there, too.
I was moved to true emotion and sadness this morning looking at some images from the Philippines. I saw a photo, which I will not share due to the graphic nature, of a father holding his toddler in his arms.. he was weeping. She was dead.. he was taking her to the morgue. She was the victim of this tremendous disaster that will be the storm for the record books.. I cannot fathom the thoughts of what happened here.. I also cannot explain how angry I am at American media for their selfish attitude regarding news. They cover politics as though it matters.. they feed us trivial garbage, a steady diet of nonsense that spews from their talking head mouths. I dislike them not for who they are, but for who they pretend they are.. We don’t get news. Thank God for the Internet. I am going to post some links at the bottom of this update that, if you want help, you can click on and send whatever..

Once again: I was amazed this morning: Tens of thousands potentially dead in the Philippines, China lost a lot of farms from the same storm, another storm kills hundreds in Somalia.. and the top story on the big three network morning news shows? The ‘cold’ in the United States and the coating of snow that some people got—a coating! It’s November. It gets cold. And it snows. Sometimes there’s cold November rain, so say the Guns N Roses. Sometimes snow. Either way, there was no coverage of the unfolding disaster in other nations. But other nations know what goes on in America—we just don’t know what goes on there.. Sickening, news media..sickening.

The sounds of solar silence
Every 11 years the sun cooks.. bakes.. shakes.. rattles and rolls. But this year, the ball of fire has a little less fire. Sunspots this year are like an Art Bell show: You just can’t find it when you expect to..
The strange doings on the sun, as the WALL STREET JOURNAL calls it, is being covered by major media.. Sunspots are half of what they were supposed to be at this point in the cycle..
I recall about two years ago, people were warning of disaster and catastrophe during this sun cycle.. So far, nothing. Which is great for humanity.. But it certainly brings up the question of ‘why’ ?
One NASA expert quoted in the article said this is the weakest the sun has been in 200 years..And it could be all because of a pole shift. The JOURNAL reports,
Researchers are puzzled. They can’t tell if the lull is temporary or the onset of a decades-long decline, which might ease global warming a bit by altering the sun’s brightness or the wavelengths of its light.
"There is no scientist alive who has seen a solar cycle as weak as this one," said Andrés Munoz-Jaramillo, who studies the solar-magnetic cycle at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, Mass.
To complicate the riddle, the sun also is undergoing one of its oddest magnetic reversals on record.
Normally, the sun’s magnetic north and south poles change polarity every 11 years or so. During a magnetic-field reversal, the sun’s polar magnetic fields weaken, drop to zero, and then emerge again with the opposite polarity. As far as scientists know, the magnetic shift is notable only because it signals the peak of the solar maximum, said Douglas Biesecker at NASA’s Space Environment Center.
But in this cycle, the sun’s magnetic poles are out of sync, solar scientists said. The sun’s north magnetic pole reversed polarity more than a year ago, so it has the same polarity as the south pole.
This may be the prime time, though, to start worry about fixing the grid, upgrading the grid, repairing the grid, and modernizing the grid. NOW.. when the going’s good.
And as far as the solar silence: Perhaps we should not complain. Maybe the Northern lights are tamer than some would hope, but electronics don’t get fried when there is no Kill Shot.
And is Ed Dames still calling for that one? Or is he nestled somewhere in comfort with his new Russian wife..?

It has been a while since I took a stroll down graffiti highway in Centralia, PA… From my pure non scientific observation, its appears that the roadway is finally buckling beyond recognition.. but some new and wonderful graffiti artwork remains

My experience attempting to quit Sirius XM service
Art Bell was taken off INDIE 104. All of his shows for download have been deleted. You can read my epic updates on WWW.HORRORREPORT.COM if you care to know more about this situation. But with it all being over, I decided to end my Sirius XM Service.
If only it was just that easy..
First off.. I promised myself years ago to never sign up for satellite radio—then Art decided to host and I broke my terrestrial radio self-commandment.
After spending over a half hour on the phone, fighting about hidden fees and little early cancellation costs, I will command myself again: NEVER SIGN UP FOR PAY RADIO. I get that companies want to make money.. and I understand I am canceling before my ‘one year of service.’ And now they know that they have one of the worst companies ever—at least in terms of canceling service—that I have ever dealt with…
Here is the kicker that put me over the edge.. I was asked for an explanation on why I was quitting. I explained the obvious, very calm… The nice woman from somewhere on this planet asked if she wanted me to find shows similar to Dark Matter if it would help keep my service. I said sure, be my guest. Six minutes later she came back and asked if I listen to music—obviously her search ended up in a Black Hole. She put me on hold again.. when she came back, she said she wanted me to understand that me quitting is not her company’s fault, but that is was “Clyde Lewis’ own decision to end Ground Zero.”
I was floored.
First off, I explained, Clyde Lewis didn’t host DARK MATTER, and I further explained that there was a separate issue which forced Ground Zero off of satellite radio .. She was legitimately confused as to what I was saying. I mean, if you’re going to spout Jess-written talking points, at least don’t get them confused with each other.
This also tells me some folks have been ending their service since Clyde Lewis is gone, too…
At a certain point, after my early fees and fees and fees and hidden fees and pretend costs, I ended up with $111.11 back—ironic since it was 11/11 that Art’s shows had all been taken off of Sirius. BUT THEN she told me an extra $12 had to come off for some other reason…. I didn’t even fight at this point. I just wanted my money back.. and they have it, and I want it.
And finally.. the final bombed dropped when I ended the call. She said, “thank you, and you should see your money in 10 to 15 business days.”
WHAT!?

I better get this money back.

Media accounts seem shocked that the Pope not only embraced this man but also “kissed” him. That shock made me wonder if we have completely lost our humanity.This man, and others who have other similar issues, are people. They deserve respect, and love..
The Pope exemplifies what we all should do with the poor, the downtrodden, and the rejected..

Reports claim that the destruction in the Philippines from Haiyan is ‘absolute bedlam’.. Red Cross workers are describing the horrendous scene on the ground that they are seeing.. Hundreds of thousands of people are displaced and one town of 40,000 people is called Guiuan is said to be largely destroyed.. Even more alarming, the BBC reports that the city of Baco n the Oriental Mindoro province is 80% under water.. that town has 35,000 people in it. I believe with numbers as harrowing as that, the death toll may rise substantially higher than 10,000..
We do know this: Body bags being rushed in.
There are some attempts for rescue victims from the storm still taking place.. Fear and starvation in the Philippines as food mobs are already attacking aid trucks..
The troubling situation with Haiyan is not over. There is Midweek trouble brewing for the Philppines as a new tropical system gets organized..
An expert debunks YouTube video that purports a microwave beam made Haiyan stronger.. It was none other than “Dutch Sinse” .. and he took to Facebook to defend his accusation of a manmade weather system..

In 1919, Woodrow Wilson proclaimed today Armistice Day. After a few more ‘wars to end all wars,’ Congress changed Armistice to Veterans Day in 1954.. Since then, every November 11, we have stopped to memorialize veterans who are still living..
There is also some confusion, though, as many today have vigils and ceremonies for the dead .. however today is the day to thank and honor the living.
Thank you Veterans for service.. thank you for your sacrifice.. There is so much gratitude owed to you, it can never be completely fulfilled. The world is a better place because of your actions, and the United States is a better nation because of your honor..
