So my local Walmart had a mobile meth lab in the parking lot.. Merry Christmas.

Pretty big day in the Skook, even with it being Christmas..

It may be everyday that a meth lab in some town gets found, but not a mobile one. A meth lab on wheels..

Turns out that the owner of the vehicle was from Berks County. So Schuylkillians are in the clear on this one. But… it may be proof that you can find pretty much any item at Walmart.

TINA BROWN said the Zeitgeist was against the publication. But why? Why not TIME magazine.

I recall a few years ago when US NEWS AND WORLD REPORT died away from newstands, too. But what did that magazine offer? Morty Zuck had nothing but bucks.. nothing to give readers either besides long lists of the ‘best of’ that no one ever read. The people who made the US NEWS ‘best of’ lists probably didn’t even know that they made it..

TIME magazine is still alive. Thriving? I don’t know. They just chose BARACK OBAMA as their person of the year—a safe choice and predictable one.. Will they be next in the digital universe? Abandoning the stains of print in turn for the speed of the phone?

Lots of people will lament NEWSWEEK’s print passing. Some won’t.

But one day, maybe when that solar storm does actually hit, we will yearn for the days of print. Yearn for the days when we can hold a magazine in our hands…

Reaction in India continues after gang rape on bus

There is so much anger in New Delhi that big protests are continuing in the city..

CNN reports:

Saturday’s demonstration was prompted by public outrage over what police said was the gang-rape and beating of a 23-year-old woman on a moving bus in the capital on December 16.

Authorities haven’t released the name of the rape victim, but protesters are calling her “Damini,” which means “lightning” in Hindi.

According to reports, the young victim of the rape had a metal rod inserted in her vagina and she suffered loss of her intestines..

There has been global anger with how Indian officials responded to the incident—such as questioning why she was out past 9pm with a male, ignoring her life threatening damages incurred by the incident..

And you thought your job stunk!

There are time you need to take news online with a grain of salt. And if it’s from the ONION you should just laugh, and not spread the headlines as though they’re true..

So when I read this SMOKING GUN story about a federal worker who was reprimanded for farting too much, I could not help but first think it was a joke. However, sadly in a way, as the story went on and copies of documents were referenced, it became clear that the Social Security Administration employee from Baltimore, really could not control his flatuence.

But the story of the man gets weirder.. According to a reprimand letter, he created a hostile working environment because of his repeated passages of wind.

And the office co-workers didn’t think grin and bear it.. No, they recorded the times and dates when he flatuated (is that a word?) ..

Now picture your own office, or workplace.. Picture a co-worker next to you breaking wind every half hour or so.. How long until you start keeping “documenation” on all of the times he farted in your space? Well, according to the SMOKING GUN expose, this SSA employee had 17 incidents on September 19, according to records kept by employees. And he even broke wind during a May 18 performance discussion!

There is now a legal fight taking place over the reprimand.. I don’t know how much further the public will be udpated on the farting government worker. But every time I see my social security deduction on future paychecks, I’ll raise a glass and bust an ass. Praise to the farting Social Security Worker! So misunderstood…

Another disgusting story about a shooting..
This time in rural Pennsylvania near Altoona..
Fox News reports:
A man fatally shot a woman decorating for a children’s Christmas party at a tiny church hall and killed two men elsewhere in a rural central Pennsylvania township Friday before he was fatally shot in a gunfight with state troopers.

So far it appears the shooter had no relationship with the victims..

I value a wonderful family, wonderful friends, peace, joy, happiness and sure a little fun now and then too.

But doesn’t it seem like this year has been tremendously bad? Maybe the world didn’t end up by God there’re times this year were we all sure felt like it would..

So that would be all the more reason to grab the hand of the person you love, spend time with the people you care about, and appreciate every waking moment because those moments are fleeting..

Christmas tragedies.. Why do bad things happen to good people? Why around holidays? 2012 has been a rough year.. Hasn't it?

Just got informed that a co-worker and good friend lost her sister in a rafting accident in another country.. I will obviously withhold personal information but… it made me feel awful.

I am not a doomsayer or someone who believes the end times are upon us.. but with news of national attention recently and even personal attention, it just isn’t good, is it? Tragic scenarios are playing out everywhere. This has been a rough year.
2013 almost here (yes already) so maybe things will improve. Right?
Right?….
Again… Right?
Maybe.
But as for the current time, we are dealing with an aftermath of a horrific shooting in Newtown, Connecticut And whatever personal horror you are dealing with in your private life.

If we make it through December we’ll be fine.

A nightmare before Christmas

The President of the United States delivered a monumental speech last night during a vigil in Newtown, Connecticut. He was emotional. He seemed real. And he somehow was able to get back that old aura like he had during speeches in the past. He is a great orator. During this tragic situation, we need that. Sure, we need action, too.. but since action is so debatable, right now oration will due.. He invoked Jesus and children going to him.. then went on to name all of the children, by first name, who were gunned down by shooter Adam Lanza.

The world is beginning to know a little more about Mr. Lanza, and his mother. One story in UK media accuses his mom of being a hoarder worrying about the end of the world coming, or at least some type of end of the world-lite crisis. We don’t know much about him just yet, besides the occasional news media story of him being in a high school tech club, having emotional issues, playing video games. We do know, from various reports, that his mother took him to shooting ranges allowing him to practice his shots. Shots that would eventually change a small town and perhaps the nation…

I think there was a certain shroud of sadness across the Christmas landscape this weekend. I wrote about my trip to my local mall last Friday night. It was quiet and silent.. in parts you can hear a pin drop. I went, again, to another shopping center last night. While the crowd was in its typical rush for last minute gifts, there wasn’t much fun in the shopping experience. We all know what we are all thinking, We all have those children’s souls in our minds. I think there’s a strong change that many across this country had nightmares. Perhaps the President himself.

We may all disagree on gun control issues. We can all have a certain point of view regarding mental health and how state and federal governments should deal with issues relating to it. And we may also all have varying beliefs when it comes to the national ‘morals’.. But suddenly we all have one thing in common: We weep for the souls who perished last Friday in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Stories of heroism among the faculty make our eyes water.. but those awful stories of children being gunned down by a maniac in the school make us tremble in sadness and be silent in grief.

While Obama may have a master orator, there are still few words that can do much healing. Instead it the healing will come over time. It may never actually happen.. but families will come to grips with the scope of their loss. This Christmas has been ruined. I am guessing for hundreds of people, future Christmases will never get better. So many families that were planning happy and peaceful Christmases. Now they are planning somber funerals for lives gone too young.

The Lanza family will now be greeting this Christmas with loss, and perhaps shame. Their name now forever marked by the horror that were perpetrated and saddened by the loss of another…

We may have all been forever changed by this tragic shooting. But we don’t quite yet know how we’ve been changed.

A range of emotions has taken over … but we don’t know what is flowing through our veins more: Anger, sadness, or a melancholy feeling that something has been lost in this country—what? we don’t know yet. It’s too soon to understand the blaze of feelings ..

I cannot even imagine the pain, the ungodly pain, facing these families right now in Connecticut.

I despise any person who steals the innocence of another. This situation is all the worse. Not only was innocence taken of the deceased, but the living will now keep this horrid memory in their minds for a lifetime …

We all may feel sadness and anger.. But we also collectively feel disgust. Disgust that someone can do this. Disgust that it happened.

We may have all cried out to God this weekend. Maybe some of us lost faith, or others were comforted by it. I don’t know.

It’s too soon to know.

We just know that something is different. And Christmas will never be the same.

Maybe the world will end on 12/21? We are horrified by the loss of innocent life. Hillary Clinton passed out and has a concussion (I thought she’d be president in 2016) .. and Dick Clark has been dead for a while. With Ryan Seacrest ringing in the New Year, I don’t think there’s much of a chance we’ll make it through December. But if we do, we’ll be fine.

A hush all over the world

I went to the mall tonight with my son only to find a very crowded but very quiet shopping plaza..

Nobody was talking, just kind of blankly staring at each other as they passed by each other.

Christmas music was playing in the background and people were trying to get their last-minute holiday shopping done before the season runs out of time. But there was something strange about the crowd.

As I mentioned it was purely quiet, again the only sound that was heard was the jingle of the bells from the loudspeaker above..

It is like a shroud of sadness was hanging over all the people there.
The events of the day in my mind that made this happen. Perhaps some were looking for escape routes in the mall just in case anything else would have flared up, or maybe we are just looking at each other in a days look thinking ‘How could someone do that to so many young children’

My son is very young, younger than the kindergarten age. But at this point does age really matter?

Anyone that dies in a senseless act of violence is one too many dead.. But when young children who are filled with innocence and love are taken away from this planet by a maniac wielding to high-powered guns, that is beyond senseless..

So the mall was quiet tonight, that I know. But what were we all thinking? Perhaps too many thoughts to even write about..

I cannot help but think about how this is now permanently changed Christmas for at least 28 families, a town, a state, a nation, and the national psyche..

No matter how cliched the term has become: we will never be the same again.

Also in points the media goofed on so far: The media broadcast and widely circulated a photo of Ryan Lanza. Trouble is they seemed to just randomly pick a Lanza without regard to whether it was the suspected killer or not—and now the suspect is Ryan’s brother Adam..

LATEST: The Associated Press and local media reported the shooter, a 20-year-old male identified by CNN as Ryan Lanza, was also dead inside Sandy Hook Elementary School. A second person was in custody and undergoing questioning. Two handguns were recovered at the scene. Mayor Mark Boughton said several victims had been taken to local hospitals.

CBS News reporting that a "second body" was found in the home of the shooter. It's unclear if that means there are two bodies in that house or if the first body they're referring to is the shooter's.

Various reports are now stating that hundreds of rounds were fired from two-hand guns at the shooting scene

This is just getting worse

Networks are now going wall-to-wall with coverage of the Newtown Connecticut shooting, at least 18 now appear to be children dead..

I say this again: Children did not deserve this, no one deserved this, there are 14 dead children right now at the school in Connecticut.. At least.

CBS news and other sources are now reporting that at least 27 are dead in the Connecticut elementary school shooting

Notice at least 27, that’s right, at least 27, which means there will be more numbers coming out shortly

I am absolutely astonished and horrified by the news today, the Christmas season brings out the best in people and the worst in people, as we learn more about who shot and why we will see how the worst was brought out in someone today

Shooting reported at Connecticut elementary school

State police were responding to reports of a shooting Friday at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., State Police Lt. Paul Vance told NBC News.

Vance had no information as to possible injuries and no information on the apparent shooter at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The Newtown Bee reported that one child, apparently wounded, was carried from the scene by a police officer.

SLOW FRIDAY: MESSAGE ME QUESTIONS OR OTHER PIECES OF INFORMATION

The USGS said this morning that two twin quakes struck off the coast the coast of California and Mexico. One tremor was a 6.4, another was a 6.1. Both were recorded at shallow depths. The earthquakes occurred only within seconds of each other..

There was 80 miles between both quakes, making it unlikely that the second was an aftershock..

So far this morning, no reports of damages have been seen, but people do confirm that they felt the shaking.

BIEBER PARTS: DETAILS REVEALED ON CREEPY KIDNAP PLOT

Some may joke that they wish Justin Bieber would be castrated. But a scary story from reality shows some may have almost had their wish granted..

There is news trickling out of the gossip BYTES online about Bieber, and a kidnap plot that would have resulted in the castration of the star, along with high prices for his testicles.

According to the story, an obsessed man named Dana Martin, worked with two other man in a plot to get Bieber’s package, and kill him.. According to the story, Martin and company is accused of arranging other men to kidnap Bieber and strangle him with his tie. Additionally, a bounty was placed on Bieber’s ‘head’ of $2,500 per testicle..

Ironically, Martin sports a Bieber tattoo and reportedly, the plot originated after he became angry that the star failed ignored his repeated attempts to contact the young star.

While the kidnap plot was thwarted, there is little evidence that it would have been successful if put into action.

While the world may mock and laugh at Bieber’s rise to stardom, wishing anything but safety for him is awful.

However, the fact his testicles would have gone for $2,500 each? Well that makes me wonder if a black market exists out there for such parts..

This year has been a blur, the month of December is almost over and Christmas is quickly on the way.. If we make it passed the 21st we will be fine.

What alarms me anymore is the number of disasters.. leaving one’s mind to almost become numbed thinking of which one to help with first..

I am quite tired of hearing about the fiscal cliff

Seriously, it is becoming the most over-used political term of the year. And it just took about a month for it to become that..

Can we use some other phrase now? Financial Apocalypse maybe? The Fundage Armageddon? Maybe the Money Massacre? The Line Item Limbo?

Just enough of this fiscal cliff.

Although I would be my money on this: Porn industry moguls are going to be able to come up with a great parody of the fiscal cliff by using a word that sounds similar—one I will not even write for fear my son one day will read this ..

I hate Caillou

Hate is a strong word.

My wife and I are somewhat annoyed with the whiny Caillou, but we deal with him because our son likes him. Ayden will grow out of it.. Until he does we tolerate it.

Nelson Mandella is in the hospital for another day, and now has “stopped talking,” according to media a report.

Mandella is sick.. But didn’t this happen before?

For those who are not aware of the paranormal angle of Nelson Mandella, there are some out there who consider him to be a representation of time slips. He died before, according to the recollection of many people—including Art Bell, who took calls from people that agreed they remembered watching Mandella’s funeral on TV

Mandella remains in the hospital along this time line. I don’t know what happened in others..

But I think it will be mighty strange watching so many think it will end. I just hope, given the fears some people manage to hold in them, we don’t have persons acting out in bizarre ways to injure each other.

The season of joy is upon us. And tacky sweaters and mysteriously warm egg nog.

The lyrics were much, but Psy's anger is understandable especially considering at the time--which was a DECADE ago--the Iraq War wasn't very popular nor was any American military occupation in foreign countries. The anger was in reaction to two Korean girls being killed. It was an accident, but the soldiers involved were acquitted and a S.K. missionary was executed in reaction to Korea's support of the US. As an American, I admit that our country isn't all pure and good as we'd like to think.

Thanks for the note. Your point is well taken. What I find amazing about this story though is how, now that PSY has been forced to apologize, some in stardom have to almost shed their true feelings and put on a fake exterior just to keep allowing the money to flow in.

Think of it.. this guy rises from nowhere and becomes a 2012 sensation, to the point of which he is on the AMAs and his dance is being attempted by drunken fools at weddings across our American landscape. And then we come to learn that he was disgusted enough by America prior to this to write a song about it in which he calls for some horrific things to happen to it.

The same America that is furnishing his pockets with cold hard cash.

The fact it’s even occurring is the story to me. The irony of it is what I am interested in.

I could care less if he harbors anti-American sentiment, anti-Russian, or anti-Martian. What it comes down to for me, personally, is that the Gangam style stuff is beyond sophomoric and I am truly confused as the way it excelled to a top spot in music this year. But I am equally confused by Justin’s Beiber’s rise to fame. So there’s two things I cannot grapple with in our current American pop culture.

I recall the Dixie Chicks’ fall from grace because they criticized president Bush during the Iraq war. I found what happened to them to be grossly unfair and diametrically opposed to what America was truly about (you know, free speech, remember that?) So I am not about to say that PSY does not have the right to speak or write whatever in the world he wants to.

But I will simply say that the irony cannot be escaped. The fact this story sees the light of day a week or two before he performs in front of President Obama adds drama to the whole situation.

Hope that explains my point of view a little better.

It's the end of the world as we know it.

I feel fine.

It’s funny, I recall years back in me teenage years in high school during the late 20th century.. Bill Clinton was having relations that he denied, the economy was great, and I was putting cheap gas into my first car in order to drive around and waste it. Oh, and I was making tons of jokes that by the time 2012 came, nothing would matter since it was the end of the world. Kids back then didn’t know what I meant. But I always prided myself in knowing the best of the doom and gloom scenarios of the future. (Water wars by 2025 I predict)..

And now here we are! Doomsday 2012! The Mayan calender is set to end this month, or some say. A new period of time begins. Or the end occurs.

So it’s only natural that panic is setting in. While most people partied like it was 1999 when the century turned 21, others though Y2K would shut the world down and bring about the end of our world.. Others committed suicide when a comet flew by earth. We have been here before. Panic and fear.

But this is the big one. This is the mother of all end time scenarios.

Even though Mayans are getting pretty angry that people are misinterpreting their calender, we are still doing it.. People are stockpiling food. A certain bit of the collective consciousness thinks the end is nigh.

Here we go. It’s going to be a wild ride to the end of the Mayan calender.

This is Girardville, Pennsylvania, tonight. The Jiffy Mart has stood for decades. And now it’s burning to the ground.. those who live in the coal region or who did live in it will know this is a pretty big deal. This is a huge chunk of history in a small mining town vanishing before firefighters’ eyes.. Sad night in the coal region.

I told you he’d goof it up. He isn’t the kind you can depend on to do anything right.

Stan Deyo, the man who predicts earthquakes, said that he has been watching Southern California for seismic activity. Deyo told George Noory on Coast to Coast Am last night that he is 90% accurate in his quake predictions.. He said he sees a potential 4 to 5 quake within a few days of the 24th of November. Deyo said the small earthquakes taking place right now in the zone he predicted may mean that his original prediction may not hold.. Deyo said he will be able to give advanced warning to large quakes. Time will tell if Mr. Deyo is full of bunk or 90% accurate as he claims he is..

While Deyo claims he may now know where large earth rumbling will occur, the places that they are REALLY occurring across the planet are just plain weird. The latest now in Tennessee, where two small tremors happened..
