Here is how some schools discipline kids with special needs: They shock them 31 times for not taking off a coat.

This story should be untrue..it should be fake. But the tortuous treatment occurred while teachers chuckled at it all. But get this: The school uses shock therapy to “help” the kids..

These stories are not confined to the distant past .. there are now.

And it is not at all like the embarrassing situation that the Secret Service agents caused the nation..

STDs among senior citizens is skyrocketing (you heard that right) .. so a new ad campaign trying to convince seniors to use condoms features senior citizens simulating sex acts. Seriously.. I don’t know what disturbs me more.. the idea of the spike in STDs or the commercial itself..

Yep. This is where it happened.

Big embarrassment for United States as Secret Service agents charged with protecting President in Columbia end up in prostitution scandal.. the scandal this weekend has also spread to the military.. government in damage control.. More on the Secret Service sex bust and more on the military involvement with the matter.. Officials admitting it is an embarassment to the United States..

Obligatory question: What the hell were they thinking!?

The latest: She tweeted photos of a before and after abortion photos—of course the joke was on people who believed it, since the actual photo of her “pregnant” was her bloated after eating a burrito..

Weather fans or watchers out there, you already probably know that yesterday was quite tragic for lots of people, including a hospital in Iowa where a tornado struck.. But what amazed me about this day is the number of storm chasers that were live streaming online and for big networks covering the matter. In one instance, the networks said “don’t risk your life,” bla bla bla.. and then in another instance they gave 15 minutes or so of fame to the said weather chaser who caught a glimpse of the massive storm of death. So what are you thoughts? Are we encouraging this activity to a detriment, or is it just the next phase of how events weatherwise will get covered?

Just another study..

Autism rates are high. So are obesity rates. And tonight, a study that somehow tries to link both together is getting a lot of press and air time..  More on that study here if you wish to grin and bear it..

The basic gist, if you couldn’t get the relation, is that moms are really obese before they get pregnant.. and then after …jeeezsh.. that recommended weight gain puts them in a tip the scales category. Of course, no matter those skinny moms and dads in skinny jeans that ended up with an autistic baby.. Indeed, indeed..

So tonight, if you’re a big fat pregnant woman who lives near a freeway and has a husband and father-to-be who is over the age of 35 and works with computers, your child may be autistic.

It’s certainly interesting. All these years and we still can’t truly pinpoint what cases Alzheimer’s or autism. All the brain power going towards finding the causes.. all that brainpower lost on the mysteries of the brain.

More than $1billion has been spent over the past decade to try to find out the reason that children have autism. Hopefully the $1billion will pay off over the next decade.

Until then lose weight, move into the country, and quit the computer job. And get younger, too.

This photo has been making the rounds on Facebook and other social networking sites over the past several weeks.. We’d be remiss not to address it on Earth Informer.

The image is a model of that appeared in the Journal of Environmental Radioactivity *something you don’t find on many newstands* shows just how vast and widespread the radiation after the Fukushima disaster has been. The world covered with red and blue.. Shades of red indicate particles at the bottom layer, blue is the upper layer. And all the world is a sea of those two hazy shades of radiation.

More here on the science behind it.
And if you’re interested in reading more real research, here is the Journal of Environmental Radioactivity.

Gas is $7 a gallon in Catalina California..

Ok... Easter eve question.....

Question of the day.. who knows what tye of remedy may exist for a very painful sebaceous cyst? It’s not for me.. but for someone else. My mom recommended Vicks and my dad said to tape garlic on it. I have to think some other solution exists for the person afflicted?

I remember those pre-parenthood days..

When my wife and I would see parents buying gifts for their child for Easter. How foolish we’d think. And chuckle.. and go home and continue to be proud of the fact the WE don’t buy gifts for holidays in which gifts were never intended to be the theme.

But tomorrow Ayden will be as proud as a peacock on his brand new Thomas the Train *almost* life size toy and a $10 yard sale iMac computer, along with a $.50 chair to sit at…… Is there a help group out there for hypocritical parents?

A new documentary shows an exorcism of a “possessed” woman.. Happy Easter.

The world going mad part 2

….Friday night lights. All across America. Gun shots ring out.. from the highest rooftops to the lowest most garbage filled alleyways.. This isn’t how life is supposed to be. We are not supposed to regress. We are not supposed to devolve. Life is supposed to get better, right? Flying cars? …try high gas prices. Peace on earth? try let’s look for a new planet………

Is this the fall of Rome all over again? A society so into itself that it misses the big picture.. forgets morality.. ceases the high road in exchange for a path into desolation? .. Society seems to be in ruins. But the TV is still on and housewives are still DESPERATE. So who cares.. right?

THE MOON IS BRIGHT...

If you are on the great North American continent, and the sky is clear, peak outside the window and stare at the moon.. the bright light up above is beautiful this evening. Stars are shining in my little town. Hope they are for you, too.

Either God decided to cut some Wisconsin cheese or the mighty earth below our feet is just choosing to grunt, groan, and flash its might.

For weeks we have heard about mysterious booms in Clintonville. Now this: Booms and flashes of light in Barbaroo, Wisconsin.

One person who called 911 said it sounded like a meteorite blowing up over his head.

Indeed, this story keeps getting weirder.

The city of Pottsville, PA.. Beautiful day today..

By the way..

I just asked a question last night about something.. sometimes I ask questions on here and like the responses.. but to be accused of child abuse for simply asking a question on vaccines took me by surprise..

Nonetheless, great responses. 100% solid pro vaccine crowd responded. I wanted some controversy and disagreement but didn’t think so many private messages would have been sent to me telling me how bad of a dad I was.. for asking a question.

A question.

1 year vaccines?

My son has his check up tomorrow. He is happy and fun at 13 months… Give me advice on vaccines… skip them? Delay them? Get them all.. break them up? inquiring minds want to know what followers may suggest. Just wondering is all……………?

Perhaps it is better screening after all?

Perhaps it is better screening after all?

I am an autistic adult. My main "affliction" is people who think of me as "afflicted." If you believe that about autistic people, unfollow. You are not going to like me.

I want you to know and understand this.. I have people in my family, close family.. who are autistic. As far as my terminology or words to describe it? I am sorry if you were offended by “afflicted.”.. perhaps a better choice would have been in order.

A Secret Service agent recounts the day Kennedy was assassinated: On Jackie O: "'Her eyes were filled with terror,' he wrote. 'She was reaching for something. She was reaching for a piece of the President's head.'"

A Secret Service agent recounts the day Kennedy was assassinated: On Jackie O: "'Her eyes were filled with terror,' he wrote. 'She was reaching for something. She was reaching for a piece of the President's head.'"
The news is startling.. one in 88.. or … one in 70 kids have autism. Or is it 60? Or maybe 50..  Or some outrageously high number, I guess, have autism. But it’s all due to that ‘better screening’.. The modern media thinks we will believe that. ‘Better screening’… does that excuse really fly?

29?

Fact: Newest numbers showcase this: 1 in about 88 kids have autism.

People lit it up blue today to remind us all of that.

We don’t need reminding.

Autism  has now reared its head into a mega load of lives in the United States and the world. It’s not just the person down the street, but now it’s the person in the house. Or a friend of the person in the house. It’s not just something that hits someone else’s home far away; it hits home.

Earlier today the fine folks at FineArtStream.com, the 24/7 Art Bell rerun website played a show form 2006 when Art talked to a guest speaking about how autism rates were around the 1 in 188 range. They shunned the suggestion that better screening led to such epidemic like rates.  It is obvious it may have an effect, but not nearly as profound as what some say.

So we may now have finally admitted it.. Autism is on the rise.  Will the cure be found? Maybe we must first find the cause.

We need to find why boys are more likely than girls to get it.. we need to find why some have warning signs but regression doesn’t hit until 18 months.. we need to find out why women who live near highways are more likely to have babies with autism… And we need to ask really serious, hard, difficult, and probing questions about vaccines. I know ‘two dozen’ studies failed to link vaccines.. but I frankly don’t care. Study it more. Please? 1 in 88 kids’ lives and maybe soon 1 in 33 kids’ lives depend on that.

The brutal truth, not for better but for worse, is that the number may simply climb from this point. What are the implications of that? Lots.

Societal implications.

Career implications.

Political implications.

Budgetary implications.

Get the picture yet?

The future is now, the autism generation is here.

They are not one in a million, but 1 in 88. And they are growing up.. will people without knowledge of their symptoms even understand them? Will their presence be unwanted? Will their gifts and talents be appreciated the same as others? What will we do to help them once their safety net has expired from the earth? Parents take great care of their children … what about when mom and dad pass into the great unknown.. and 1 in 88 are alone to fend for themselves? It certainly appears that many of the 50 states of the once great America don’t have a mighty high place for autism in budgets. Then again, what lobby do kids with autism really have, anyway?

I get the feeling that all of this talk today about autism in media and TV may have been actually been a disservice in a sense. It made autism seem, still, like it was someone else’s problem.

Listen.. 1 in 88 kids have autism. Did you hear that?

I have two nephews who are afflicted. And guess what.. they are two beautiful, wonderful, human beings. Quite frankly, I often think they are a hell of a lot smarter than me.

As a matter of fact….

Keep this in mind: People with autism are.. *GASP!* people!  with feelings! awareness! habits! laughter! kindness! tears! and fears. Yes fears. They have them. Maybe more than “US”.

They are nothing like us but everything like ‘us’ at the same time.

Oh, and what are we?  What are us ‘common folk’ and ‘normal folk’ like? Think of this truth: We enter a rat race every day in a car that could crash.. we head to a job we really don’t want just to make a simple income to buy a few things after we pay for bills. Many of us choose to use leftover cash on booze and drugs to dull the mind to the depression that would occur if we really thought about existence. Sometimes we drown out the night by casting the blue light of the television set in our living rooms, as though it will tube up the worst of the day and make us faaaaghhettabout it….  We overeat sometimes. Or under eat. Some of us make ourselves vomit because we hate our bodies. Others look in the mirror and see perfection—those are the vain ones of ‘us.’ They probably think the song is about them…………..And that’s that. And some of those same ‘normal folk’ with their highs and lows, often unnatural, think they are better.. Laughable, isn’t it? Laughable indeed.

What do we know tonight that we did not know in 2008, 2006, 2002, 2000, 1997, 1995, 1992, 1988, 1980? NOTHING.

1 in 88

We know that….

And that, really, is all we know. No matter what ‘experts’ or highly paid ‘not us’s’ tell you.

A wrap.

Hope you had a good weekend. The earth seemed safe, though several 5.something quakes hit around the world (including again the Fukushima area).. and John Lear was on Coast to Coast AM with John B. Wells… some believe Lear’s commentary was an April fools’ joke but those who know Lear and remember him dating back to the early 90s on Art Bell know he is consistent. Whether what he says is a joke or not isn’t the issue, what is clear is that it certainly was not only for April Fools..

Around the world tonight. In a few links:

Good evening all.

Strange plumes on the map over Arkansas..?

Dutch Since has been focusing in on major plumes being shown on satellite imagery of the United States.. most recently, as he explained on his website, he seems to be finding more plumes. This time they are rising from Arkansas..

But with the video, this quote from the site:

no analysis — you can form your own opinion on what this is… at this point.. im tired of being the whipping boy for delivering the video on the occurrence .. you decide for yourself.. you think this is a fire.. fine.. you think this is a thunderstorm.. fine.. you think this is military testing.. fine.. you think this is volcanic activity.. fine.. you think this is related to fracking.. fine.. you think this is just a foggy day.. FINE…

whatever.. Im just showing you whats on satellite that stands out as odd

I certainly hope no ill-will has been shown towards Michael.. He has an exceptional site that most check every day.. And what he reports on these most recent plumes are worth noting..

Mega million blessings.. and mega million curses all the same.. Do you REALLY wish you won the Mega Million lottery?

But that is just it..

Perhaps they should be on their way to hire security..maybe rent a Brinks truck to transport their ticket to officials? Maybe they should be looking for property on a deserted island—one that is not sinking of course due to earth changes..

All of these things may be going through their heads today.

After all just one day ago they were not a millionaire.. they were not three people sharing in the largest jackpot ever…

And their lives were normal. With debt. And all those things that go with typical humanhood.

Welcome to the new world.. Limos and fine foods? Fine wines? Fine chocolates? Fine mess they have gotten themselves into..

For the world of lottery winners is strewn with cautionary tales.. people who lost millions in a year, people who overspent their fortune too fast..people who couldn’t handle the spotlight and the limelight.. people who won a fortune but lost one at the same time.

Yes, three people (and maybe more depending on the circumstances) may be thinking today.

A blessing.

A curse.

Maybe one of them will re-think cashing in?

Faced with the fortune of a lifetime, what would you do?

Sharing the wealth: Sorry Maryland, you're not alone now..

Lottery ticket-holders in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland each selected the winning numbers.

Clintonville still shakes

Days after the town of Clintonville, Wisconsin, was told that a 1.5 quake was to blame for the loud booms that took place since late March of this year, the town once again is faced with more movement and more shaking, these booms the loudest yet according to some reports.

One resident told the Applton POST-CRESENT that the 1.5 explanation was enough for people to start living their lives again. But now with the new shaking since the town hall where the mayor told 400 all was ok, people are beginning to question what really may be taking place under their feet.

While no official explanation has come yet from the post 1.5 shaking, some suspect an earthquake swarm and multiple events.

On Tuesday of this week, police were inundated again with calls about loud booms shaking houses and rattling nerves. And on Friday morning, more calls were made about the same noises.

And now, finally, after all this time Clintonville heard these booms, the rest of the nation had to only guess what they sounded like (unless the earth has been making noise near you, too), ABC news’ website has a video of what may be the ‘boom’ in Clintonville.. Listen close

Though the Tshirts were already printed about how ‘we survived the 1.5’ it seems that the noises aren’t quite done, despite politicians and officials wrapping up the story with the bow of an earthquake.

Maryland lottery officials say a ticket purchased in Baltimore County hit the $640 million Mega Millions jackpot.

The winning Mega Millions numbers were 2, 4, 23, 38, 46 with a Mega Ball of 23

Good evening to all..

Embrace a little longer tonight.

The world is on fire.

Coast to Coast AM suddenly made me feel scared again

It’s been a while since the late night radio show Coast to Coast AM was able to get under my skin and penetrate deep into my mind.. freak me out.. and make me look over my shoulder when I’m in the woods. Typically George Noory doesn’t have the ability that the great Art Bell did when he hosted full time..

But last night George Knapp took the show into a new direction.. paranormal meets true crime.. all with government cover ups and million dollar FIOA requests.

The show revolved around the odd disappearance of people in national parks—people vanishing for over 100 years. At times clothes are found with tiny bones left and no blood.. at times dogs get too scared to keep sniffing for victims.. at times people are found dry after being in snow or rain.. and a vast number of people who vanish are children. Making the scenario all the creepier, the government seems to get very edgy when people start to ask questions.

The show was an instant classic and should you be able to listen or have the chance to, it’s worth the four hours of your time.

And it may change your mind about going camping this year, too.

I went to Roadside America today in Shartlesville, PA .. if you look close at the photo posted you can see me holding my son Ayden underneath a large but miniature waterfall..

Everything at Roadside America is miniature. Towns, churches, trains.. waterfalls, farms.. The past.

And that was the striking part. The past celebrated.. the time of peace and prosperity in America seemingly celebrated as though it is long gone.

My wife may say, “Sure take a great day and analyze it.” So, as true to my pattern and habit, I will.

My wife Tara was a child attendee of Roadside America. My mom tells me I was as well, though I don’t really remember it.. Nonetheless, it would appear that nothing, absolutely nothing, has changed at Roadside America since it was created.. And speaking of when it was created: 1935 by Laurence Gieringer in Hamburg, Pennsylvania

When we arrived today, we were just in time for the artificial sunset over the artificial giant indoor town.. As the lights in the room slowly dimmed and finally went black, the wall was illuminated by a flowing American flag and a large portrait of Jesus Christ.. all the while “God Bless America,” the old version, Kate Smith style, filled the entire building.

I felt immediately like Dwight Eiseinhower was President, like people were scared of Martians and Commis.. I wondered, to myself of course, if this fake town had the problems of today? Did dad just read the newspaper while mom cooked? The kids playing somewhere outside not worrying about predators.. Because some think that the world of Roadside America was quaint and perfect.

I don’t.

I think it had just as many problems, many covered up and hidden away, tucked nicely into the closet along with the ghosts of race relations of the past…

I don’t say this because I didn’t like it there. Quite the opposite. I loved it. It was like a step back in time.. where I imagined just what was going on in each and every house, church, block.. farm house.. train.. trolley. Those days are gone. I loved the atmosphere and it all worked. Americana and Christian mixed together as though the founders intended it, though they really didn’t.

But what I really wondered was this: Will someone, like my son Ayden, think that the 21st Century is worthy of creating a brand new ‘world’s largest miniature’ indoor town?

And what will happen to one of the last vestiges of the 20th Century: Roadside America?

Before we left today, I dropped 50 cents into the player piano and Ayden happily moved his arms and danced to the ragtime music, while the town once again “went dark” to the sunset and Kate Smith played God bless America. Jesus was proudly on the wall again.

The past is gone.
The future is now.

And forever generations will debate as to who had it best.
And arguably, no one did.

God bless capitalism.. sure your town is shaking but why not make a buck

Residents of Clintonville, Wisconsin, have been inundated by national and international press for days now.. last week, booms in the night shook houses and caused fear.. town halls featured hundreds of confused residents wondering why their town was shaking.

The USGS said a 1.5 quake did it. Lots of residents didn’t and still don’t buy the explanation.. But…. why not make a buck of it anyway!

The mayor of the town, now famous Judy Magee, is going to sell shirts saying “I survived the 1.5!”

There is some beauty here.. make some money, keep the story alive, and … here is the best: The shirt rhymes!

God bless America.

Shakin’ and all.

Dead daughter's voice mails erased by cell phone company

Two major issues arise in my mind here.. first the trauamtic human issue of its… a dad listening to his daughter, who is dead from cancer, telling him that she loves him.. something very emotional with this story.

And the business side: Where do these deleted cell phone messages go anyway? A lawsuit about this case may soon prove where they go…. perhaps into the reservoir of some Homeland Security database..

Nonetheless, this story is quite sad..

Saturday night in the South.. Santorum pounds Romney in Louisiana..

Not only does Mitt Romney love children, but for a vote, he’ll kiss them too. If you’re lucky he won’t even wipe his lips afterwards.

Dick Cheney: One step closer to living forever

He had heart attacks for years.. he had a quadruple bypass.. he had a battery powered heart pump. And now at the age of 71, he has received a heart transplant and is recovering tonight.

The name of the donor is not known.. the Cheney family expressed gratitude for the chance to have Dick around longer..
Already the internet is abuzz with many who are thrilled that the neo conservative may live to endorse another war.. opponents say it is another example of  ’Darth Vader’ taking another step closer to living forever..

Space junk: Station scare

The space station crew was forced to seek shelter after fears of debris.. the fragment passed by the station without farm to life or limb, but it showcases the growing issue of space debris circling around earth..

NASA was concerned that the debris was potentially dangerous to astronauts on the International Space Station—so much so that they were warned to seek refuge as the debris passed by.

It was an old Russian satellite named Cosmos 2251. This is now the third time such an incident has occurred.

And it will likely occur again: According to reports, more than 20,000 pieces of MAN-MADE debris circle earth, all larger than a softball. Many pieces are large..

The future is now.. how far down this road are you willing to travel? How much of the path is safe.. secure.. Where should it end? It appears it will not have to end therefore only you can choose to lose the amount of sanity you want.

Headline: Nokia has filed for a parent for tattoos that will be able to receive a magnetic wave to indicate when a cell phone call is coming in.

We were supposed to have flying cars and household robots. Not magnetic arms that tingle when someone phones…

The power hour is here. There is not stopping technology.  I have said before, and stand by the prediction now, that cell phones will soon be implanted from birth in your hand.. Google on your fingers.. all knowing and always there.. RFID chips ..hold the salsa.

The flare of blinding lights

Space Weather reports:

A flurry of solar activity in early March dumped enough heat in Earth’s upper atmosphere to power every residence in New York City for two years. The heat has since dissipated, but there’s more to come as the solar cycle intensifies. [full story] [video]

That’s a lot of power. The solar cycle, as they point out, is not done. As a matter of fact, more bursts have come off of the sun just tonight.

Sunspot 1429 just produced a strong M class flare—not earth directed.. Another sunspot, AR 11444, is now forming.. 1431 produced a flare, today, too..

We are not out of the wood.. or universe. Not at all. 2012 should prove interesting..

A dry future

Times are going to be grim in the near future, according to the latest government assessments on the future about how water will be used as a weapon of war.

The main areas of crisis will be North Africa, Asia, and parts of the Middle East .. Millions will be affected..

Heatmiser lives: The tsunami factor

Lots of eyebrows are raised at the heat  as of late.. while many are enjoying the bountiful weather of warmth, sporting short sleeved Ts and shorts, the back of the mind knows it is a guilty pleasure. Could it be, something wrong with this whole picture? A month where the normal temperatures are often cold and we have heat? Where St. Patrick’s Day is often white instead of green? …where 80s don’t persist this long until April or May? .. Indeed.

But a new theory has surfaced—in jest—but it may be the best of any!  Call it the tsunami defense.. the wreckage in the Pacific is so extensive after the March 2011 tsunami, that it heated the planet and changed wind currents. The idea was put forth by Henry Margusity of Accuweather in a complete joking manner.  Sadly now he is being mocked for it since Accuweather blew the overall winter prediction for the year.

The worrying part of this whole heat wave is this: If the experts are confounded and the forecasters are stunned, we should be looking outside the box. And that is not to say that the tsunami heated the planet, but the old weather patterns perhaps are truly changing .. why? Global warming? Earth changes.. cooling..

And what if this: The planet moved after last year’s Japan quake. Could that have caused a shift in where certain weather patterns persist?
I don’t know.
And guess what.. no one really knows.
Like forecasters, we just guess.

I like Henry from Accuweather.. I’ll stand by him, regardless of how wacky a theory could be.

The real story here is that it’s scary that we have to guess about why the weather is so absolutely strange as of late..

A note from Clintonville, WI

An Earth Informer reader tonight emailed me, one who wishes to remain anonymous.. But interesting how this person is characterizing the latest explanations from officials on the ‘earthquake’ theory making booms and bangs..

Hello, I’m from Clintonville and stumbled across your website while searching for information on the noises in my town. Believe me, me, and no one else believes that an earthquake caused what we are hearing. We heard this before the day that the government told us the quake even happened! And other towns, too? we are all wondering if it is fracking or something else. We just are not buying into this official story that this mystery is ‘solved’

Thanks.. reader.. Love it. I can’t say I buy it either. Time will tell..
And a note to this, and other readers around the wold who are hearing noises and other strange things: Always email me at bsmolock@gmail.com .. I’d love to hear from you..
