Good article from MOVIEPIOLOT.COM: Why modern horror movies don’t get it right. I agree with the point of this article by Pedro Asdrubal Diaz.. modern horror is not memorable. Last night after many things led me to miss the ANNABELLE release in theaters, we finally found a copy in a REDBOX and watched it .. The group of us who saw it figured it was going to be a modern classic. It was not. It was actually quite forgettable and unmemorable.. Creativity seems to be completely lost.
Will there be some horror hope? Here are 10 movies of the horror genre to look forward to this year. UNFRIENDED looks creepy.. 31 looks avoidable in my opinion.. `KNOCK KNOCK looks ridiculous.. IT FOLLOWS will be great, judging from early reviews..SPRING looks creepy.. And POLTERGEIST? After a good trailer I am suddenly accepting this remake. We will see and time will tell if the film is as good as the two minute preview..
The NBC NEWS chimes of doom are famous.. when they break into the television norm to tell of breaking news, you know the world has changed in some way, whether small or large.. They sound, quite frankly, frightening. Especially for those who vividly recall things like 9/11, when the chimes were busy for days.. A memory recall for those not familiar with the doom-ish feeling that comes from hearing the NBC breaking news theme:
It seems quite unlikely that Brian Williams will be able to continue news in the current environment. As we now have come to learn, Williams is taking a leave of absence from the NBC NEWS job, writing this:
In the midst of a career spent covering and consuming news, it has become painfully apparent to me that I am presently too much a part of the news, due to my actions. “As managing editor of NBC Nightly News, I have decided to take myself off of my daily broadcast for the next several days, and Lester Holt has kindly agreed to sit in for me to allow us to adequately deal with this issue. Upon my return, I will continue my career-long effort to be worthy of the trust of those who place their trust in us.”
His statement sounded complex.. It’s difficult to figure out if he’s done for good or just hoping some of the feeding frenzy lessens. I don’t think it will..
People following Williams on Twitter already know that his entire Twitter feed vanished early on think ‘my helicopter took fire’ scandal.. Even further, Williams became associated with interesting comments about watching bodies float by him after Katrina–trouble was, he wasn’t in a place of New Orleans where that was happening. He also said he got sick from drinking flood waters.. But it does not appear other surrounding him recall that vividly..
I ponder to myself if Williams just wants to fantasize about these tall tales as a way of giving himself more street cred? Drum up the news and include himself in there so he seems more trustworthy. Get into the action, and if the action doesn’t find you, just pretend it did.
Any return to the news, this age, won’t work.. You don’t have to look too far in the past to realize how truth often begins to slowly leak out and then sooner or later floodgates are broken. And the levees fail. In Williams’ case, even with NBC NEWS deleting his entire online history, there’s enough history in other places. Bill Cosby wanted to be ‘memed’ online. Instead he was maimed and his life turned upside down when this generation found out that the previous generation ignored rape claims for various women.
People will scour through every bit of public record for other flaws in Williams’ character. And when that starts to happen, undoubtedly even the cleanest person will become tarnished with some mistruth and consequence..
This is a lesson: Be honest. Be good. Be real. People love real. And quite frankly, I think human beings are becoming a little better adapted at figuring out who is real and who isn’t.. Except on this one. Brian Williams had me fooled..
Did he commit a crime? No. Did he do something unforgivable? Not really. But did he include himself and brag about things that never occurred? Yes. And in doing so, he may very well have destroyed his career..
"They have tighter regulations in Europe because they operate on a precautionary principle. There, products are guilty until proven innocent. Here’s, it’s the reverse."
There’s another win in the FOOD BABE category.. People hate this lady. I don’t.. anything to add less ingredients to food is a win in my book..
The state Department of Human Services plans to hire 49 or more people to help with the increased workload caused by the addition of 21 child protection laws that were spurred by the Jerry Sandusky child sex scandal.
There are grisly details of the reign of terror.. ISIS has continued to expand its territory.. and with each new town taken, more death and brutal bloodshed has taken place in its path..
The world, mostly, hasn’t talked much about the crimes against humanity taking place..
While beheadings and now the burning of the Jordanian pilot have dominated headlines and debate, some more horrific things are taking place to the most innocent: Children in Iraq..
Among the ways children are meeting their early demise: Crucifixions.. being buried alive.. being sold as sex slaves and becoming victims of rape and torture.. And those under 18, more and more, are being used as suicide bombers. Not just kids.. mentally challenged kids. One quote from Renate Winter with the UN committee:
We have had reports of children, especially children who are mentally challenged, who have been used as suicide bombers, most probably without them even understanding
Perhaps you should read that again:
We have had reports of children, especially children who are mentally challenged, who have been used as suicide bombers, most probably without them even understanding
Let it sink in.. Let the headline escape..
There are stories of children being sold at markets with price tags on them. Sexual enslavement has become commonplace..
The news from this land seems to be that of the middle ages, when darkness ruled the land and no hope was found. The modern age has somehow forgotten about the children of Iraq. We went into the nation over a decade ago and ‘liberated’ a people—now their children are growing up in the constant fear of murder and mayhem. That is a punishment not even worthy of animals..
This post, as I write, has brought me to literal tears.
In our world—with all of the simplicities and technologies—should be opposed to violence and abhorrent behavior. But now we should have evolved beyond our old style evils and reached for the stars. We should have high speed travel across the planet and a way to quickly get to other planets. Instead we continue to warp our minds in medieval mayhem and, in the end, kill our planet’s very soul in the process.
I think the gates of hell are open. Sadly, the doors blew off and no one can close them up again..
NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams admitted Wednesday he was not aboard a helicopter hit and forced down by RPG fire during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, a false claim that has been repeated by the network for years.
I always liked Brian Williams. He was this generation’s ‘cool guy’ anchor.
But now social media has hit him hard.. he ‘misremembered’ events from years ago.. actually, he has been telling a lie for years about something that never occurred. And he was called out on it.
I am very disappointing.. as many others are.
Of course it has led to a number of humorous memes, like this:
There is one ominous thing to consider with this: Brian William’s entire TWITTER history has been wiped clean tonight.. his profile is there but there’s no tweets left. Gone..
R The Obama administration has granted whistleblower immunity to a federal government scientist that claimed he intentionally omitted information in a study that could have shown a race-based link between vaccines and childhood diseases including autism
This bit of news is coming at a very interesting time in public health and American politics. The recent measles outbreak has increased an already intense dialogue between pro and anti vaccine groups.. While countless studies conclude that vaccines are safe and don’t have a direct effect leading to autism, others still insist that there has been a overreaching attempting by big drug companies to hide any evidence of vaccine injury cases.
We first detailed the matter of William Thompson five months ago. Then, we attempted to weed through the convoluted and confusing story of his allegations. At that time, mainstream media sources covered Thompson’s accusations but didn’t give them much merit. The Atlanta study at the center of this controversy supposedly showed a link between African American boys and the appearance of autism after the MMR vaccine was administered.. But Thompson alleged CDC attempts to hide that data and fudge numbers to showcase no link between them..
Thompson, since then, has nto ended his fight.. Even more, as we see today with this grant of immunity as a whistleblower, the next phase may give the still-employed-at-the-CDC Thompson a much larger venue to state his case..
Patrick Howley of the DAILY CALLER writes this,
In 2004, Dr. William S. Thompson worked on a report for the CDC’s National Immunization Program. That report, which ran in the “Pediatrics” medical journal, came to the conclusion that there’s no link between vaccines and autism and that no racial group is more likely to be damaged by vaccines. But Thompson said that he and other CDC scientists intentionally fudged the results, manipulating the pool of children they analyzed and limiting the proper number of African-American children from participating. The authors limited black children from showing up in the results by excluding babies without a state of Georgia birth certificate. “It was a mutual decision among the five co-authors,” Dr. Brian Hooker told The Daily Caller. An associate professor at California’s Simpson University, Hooker found out about the deception by secretly taping conversations that he had with Thompson last year. After beginning to talk to Thompson in 2013, he ended up getting Thompson’s information on audio record and disseminated the information in the vaccine-skeptic online community. “I live close to the Oregon border. I taped the conversations in a hotel room,” Hooker said. “I didn’t want people to run out and delay vaccination because of this, because it was only one piece of data. But it was the one piece of data that CDC chose to cover up,” Hooker said.
And since then, the debate has only gotten much more intense—often repugnant with illogical fallacies presented and truly mean and nasty insults hurled.. And now, enter the possibility of Thompson testifying? I think things are only going to get more intense.
This was the scene as a passenger plane with dozens of people on board plunged into a river in Taiwan’s capital of Taipei on Wednesday..
The latest news is that at least 23 are dead, 20 others are missing, and 15 are injured.. the numbers game only tells one part of this. The human impact is tragic—the thoughts of being on this airplane during its final moments are awful to conjure..
And thanks to dashcam video, we can also now see the final moments of the TransAsia flight as it slammed down and took part of the bridge with it. You can see the video here..
During the scene, you can hear the shriek as people in the car witness the airplane soaring into the view and crashing down to the ground in front of them..
For me, no matter how many times I see the first few seconds of this video, I get the chills deep down..
One comment I saw on a news article concerning this should be repeated here: No matter how good or advanced technology is, an airplane is nothing more than a metal tube filled with human lives. And when these types of accidents occur, they look mighty scary to the human eye..
Sure, the single-serve coffee containers are convenient, but as this parody shows, the tiny pods that work in Keurig machines have become a Godzilla-like creature.
I always think of those monstrous mounds of plastic in the oceans across the planet. And among those: A disastrous amount of stupid little plastic coffee pods that we have bought up for no other better reason than convenience. And all the while, GOOD TASTING coffee is hard to find since we are so hell-bent on buying cheaply made MSG-infused coffee pods..
This is a great article. I sure wish my 4-year-old son could read it..
It’s written by Lynn Jaffee and speaks in depth about her picky style of eating when being a child. And how later in life the gift of food became an amazing part of living..
I am having some major troubles in the parenting department.. my son Ayden just won’t try anything new. Dinner time becomes similar to some ancient battle of the Middle Ages, with each us of jousting for the lead.. In the end, my son wins and either doesn’t eat or has some strange dinner of his own..
We even tried to ‘you’re not eating anything’ bit. He holds out. He literally holds out and it doesn’t work..
The worst thing that can happen is when he announces, out of no where, that he suddenly does not want to eat a certain food anymore—obviously he gets tired of the same stuff.. And then the crisis occurs.. we are eliminating more foods off of his diet than gaining.
He is missing a world of tastes.. he has helped me cook, doesn’t mind touching things, but when it comes to actually trying stuff, he throws himself into near convulsions of fear.
The CBS8 2009 story also quoted a pool cleaner who visits the house saying, “We try to not pay attention. We just do our job and we are in there and we are out. It’s really weird.” The reporter for CBS8 wrote this about the house itself: “Although no one was home, a faint banging was heard coming from the house.”
It is always difficult to tell fact from fiction.. other famous houses from horror exist, like the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET HOUSE that was purchased in 2013 (and it’s a beautiful clean and modern non scary place) .. and the AMITYVILLE HORROR location, which still attracts many and is constantly being sold and resold..
As far as the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY house, new owners can cleanse it of spirits and bring goodness between the four walls. Or… let the oddities occur and let pool cleaners continue to be scared off by ‘weird’ bangs from inside.. So whoever buys it? Maybe you’ll have to clean the pool yourself.. and in the luxurious life of the rich and famous, that’s the truly scary thing..
Sadly YouTube has just removed the video for a violation of their terms of service.. but I saw it before they did.
I don’t think he blinked even once during this video.. But be warned, the video is not safe for work or after dinner.
At the end, Quaid has his wife put on a RUPERT MURDOCH while he either simulates or REALLY has sex with her while speaking about police media corruption.
Pictures published on ISIS’ official al Furqan media site apparently show Jordanian military pilot Moaz al-Kassasbeh being burned alive while confined in a cage.
“Now he chain-smokes as he describes the indiscriminate killing, the abuse of female recruits, the discomfort of a life where meals were little more than bread and cheese or oil. He recounts the knife held to his throat by fellow fighters who demanded he recite a particular Quranic verse on Islamic warfare to prove himself.“
President Obama has utilized his weekly radio address (yes they still happen) and other appearances, like his beer-swigging pre-superbowl interview, to advise parents to choose vaccines over not. But Rand Paul, the famed anti-establishment eye doctor who is not a Senator and vying for the highest office in the land, says that vaccines have dangers.. Paul said they they can cause profound mental disorders.. the Paul comments raised some eyebrows, and have others in the anti-vaccine world applauding.. you can see his unusually combative interview here on CNBC.. the interview was set to be about financial issues but it took a controversial turn immediately..
Paul says that ultimately vaccines are a good idea but he had his ‘staggered’ over several months.. When the interview turned back to stocks and economics the banter between the host and Paul seemingly went even more downhill..
A New York pastor is making news.. he says that Justin Bieber is transgender and regrets ‘cutting off’ his breasts.. But before you take it seriously, know this: This is the same pastor who claimed Vlad Putin will ‘out’ Obama as gay and that Mr Manning has previously alleged that Vladimir Putin will ‘out’ Barack Obama as gay, and that Starbucks flavors coffees with the semen of sodomites.. Drink up Bieber fans.
I am on Facebook, I also have a fan page for my other website on Facebook with over 100 followers at this time.
Am I worried about their terms of service? Always. Am I horrified but how Facebook destroys the humanity of people? yes.. but there are cautious ways to come at the social network.
I think more than anything else: The fact they read private message is alarming. And they do. The argument on the tech site is convincing.. read it and judge for yourself. Act accordingly. If you stay on Facebook, be smart and don’t think just because you have ‘nothing to hide’ and the prying eyes of the technocracy don’t destroy you anyway..

You just KNEW this was coming..
If you missed the Katy Perry halftime show at the Superbowl, you may have missed quite the Illuminati ritual.
I am surprised with how ‘down’ all of these Super bowl commercial are..
The Nationwide child death ad seems to have upset the entire nation.. Along with lots of tearful and somber ads of dads crying and dogs running.. This year we are being hit hard with emotions.. Advertisers a seemingly have abandoned all forms of humor and replaced it down doldrums and a mood slump..
Katy Perry lit up halftime with color and craziness, but the new ad order of sadness was on full display..
Why all the dismay? Why all of the melancholy blues? Touchdown.. Field goal. Smiles you’ll lose.. It’s the way to sell, to tear at your heart.. Advertisers have learned a new way.. Just remind people of how much life can often suck. And they will buy. And cry.. Tears have filled empty nacho plates this Super Bowl Sunday..
At some point, this is all going to break society and a new way of thinking on economics and business will take shape. Mechatronics will replace four jobs–when few work what will occur to the masses of asses?
I love stories of abandoned places.. this one is right in Pennsylvania. But after looking at the comments section on the story, I get the notion that there is controversy about this.. lots of people seem to believe BIGFOOT scared people out. Others know it was much more of a worldly issue like economics and environment.. But what exists is a creepy slew of photos worthy of a late night creep out session in your dark living room.
The story sort of reminds me of Centralia..
And despite the urban legends, there is nothing paranormal about Centralia. I grew up there, and despite a constant stream of ghost hunters, the story of Centralia is about human failure, and not one of the other-worldly.
Forecasters are NOT playing this up, I sense they don’t want to be named the forecasters who cried wolf after botching up last week’s non blizzard.. but there will be a storm this weekend that is sizable enough to be called a major snowstorm.. The track is clear on this. The Groundhog’s Day storm will extend from Chicago to New York City. Everyone in the path will get between a half foot and a foot of snow or more.. And then after it, REALLY cold air comes down from Canada..
There has been some recent doubt as to whether ART BELL would return, but a message posted to Facebook tonight seems to make it official: Art Bell will face George Noory..
A real life polar express in east Pennsylvania with new fallen snow..

A little treasure found in a pawn shop in the Schuylkill Mall in Frackville PA.. Feels like the 80s again when I see these for sale. Of course minus the boxes and comic inserts..
A few decades after that though the intelligence is strong enough to be a concern. I agree with Elon Musk and some others on this and don’t understand why some people are not concerned
I want to spend some real time with my parents, while I still have them, with my husband, who is too often a ‘blog-widow’, my sister and brother, my niece and nephews, and rekindle the friendships that I have simply had to let wither because I’m always tied to the blog. And I want to stay healthy. I’ve had increasing health challenges these past few years. They’re not HIV-related; my doctor tells me they’re simply a result of fifteen years of daily, hourly, always-on-deadline stress. These past few weeks were particularly rough – and finally forced me to get real.
We’ll have more to say – and we’re sure you will as well – in due course. I particularly want to take some time to thank my indispensable, amazing colleagues in a subsequent post. For the time being, auto-renewals have been suspended and the pay-meter has been disabled. While we’re in this strange, animated suspension, I just wanted to take one post to thank you personally, the readers, founding members and subscribers to the Dish.
And this
You were there before I met my husband; you were there when I actually got married; and when I finally got my green card; and when Dusty – who still adorns the masthead – died. I can’t describe this relationship outside the rather crude term of “mass intimacy” but as I write this, believe me, my eyes are swimming with tears.
How do I say goodbye? How do I walk away from the best daily, hourly, readership a writer could ever have? It’s tough. In fact, it’s brutal. But I know you will understand. Because after all these years, I feel I have come to know you, even as you have come to see me, flaws and all. Some things are worth cherishing precisely because they are finite. Things cannot go on for ever. I learned this in my younger days: it isn’t how long you live that matters. What matters is what you do when you’re alive. And, man, is this place alive.
And finally
When I write again, it will be for you, I hope – just in a different form. I need to decompress and get healthy for a while; but I won’t disappear as a writer.
But this much I know: nothing will ever be like this again, which is why it has been so precious; and why it will always be a part of me, wherever I go; and why it is so hard to finish this sentence and publish this post.
This is a majorly big deal in my life. I have loved Andrew Sullivan and hated him.. but each time I wanted depth and perspective on any given issue, I would stop randomly clicking headlines and simply go to his website for that missing piece of the larger puzzle. Sullivan has been wrong on some things.. right on some things. But his blog and opinion was always an evolving work in progress.. he brought with him site intelligence and the highest degree of analysis that could be found online..
His live blogs of the State of the Union speeches each year could not be missed..
And to a degree, his little comic logo even inspired the CoalSpeaker’s emblem that rests atop this page.
Indeed, Andrew Sullivan and his site has meant a lot to me..
I certainly hope he’s not gone for good. And as a fellow blogger, I can say this.. when you do this type of thing, you never go for good. I sense we’ll see and hear from Sullivan soon.
I’m not a firm believer in the humanity of people.. Proof in the pudding comes from the endless supplies of Facebook posts on a daily basis about bad parenting and suffering children.. It getting rough to surf around my least favorite social network these days..
The latest this morning came with a story if a woman from West Virginia putting feces in her child’s IV in a hospital causing his fever to spike and also resulting in children and youth taking him..
I am constantly reminded by commenting friends on these stories.. I’m inundated with links on my news feed of horrible things happening to the most innocent.. And then after comments are made or ‘like’ is clicked people move on to the next heartbreaking tragedy..
This is how click porn is done on Facebook now: Offer up the worst of the worst for people to sink their teeth into ,just for clicks on a news story or website. Leaving the Facebook user with a lack of hope by noon..
I for one am ready to check out.. I already have no hope in my fellow humans, and I really and getting cost ed by all of the evidence that adds to my anger at people..
Maybe a little zoning out from Facebook is necessary.. Perhaps it’s time to click off and tune out. Or just filter things a hit better than I previously have..
Otherwise the constant flow of horrid news stories of children facing awful consequences at he hands of care givers or supposed parental figures will continue to obscure the beauty that exists in life.
At least I think there’s still some beauty and goodness. If not that at least there’s mystery. And obviously misery too..
Gov. Tom Wolf gave an impromptu audience Tuesday to parents of children who are suffering daily from debilitating seizures and vowed to sign a medical marijuana bill that senators are writing.
Pennsylvania already seeing the difference that a Governor’s race can make..
President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama participate in a delegation receiving line with the new Saudi Arabian King, Salman bin Abdul Aziz, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015. The president and first lady have come to express their condolences on the death of the late Saudi Arabian King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud. (AP Photo/Carolyn Kaster)
And the real reason the photo is poignant: Michelle Obama refused to wear a headscarf..
Under the kingdom’s strict dress code for women, Saudi females are required to wear a headscarf and loose, black robes in public. Most women in Saudi Arabia cover their hair and face with a veil known as the niqab. But covering one’s head is not required for foreigners, and some Western women choose to forego the headscarf while in Saudi Arabia.
As a delegation of dozens of Saudi officials — all men — greeted the Obamas in Riyadh, some shook hands with Mrs. Obama. Others avoided a handshake but acknowledged the first lady with a nod as they passed by.
This is an obvious scene of fear and panic.. Times Square, empty during the Blizzard of 2015 that became the Fizzler of the new year.. I am amazed that the city that never sleeps wouldn’t venture out to enjoy a kiss under the lights during the snow.. or hot coffee and snowball fights on a city street.. I am sort of sad seeing this. If you go through the annals of history when big storms actually hit, the entire city was out and about, doing the same thing they’d be doing if it was sunny and warm..
But this year, with this new found generation if wimps, we hide and ‘hunker down.’ We play video games and stare at the endless supplies of bread and milk purchased in near empty stores.
Don’t get me wrong, weather can be dangerous during storms. Blizzards can also be horrendous with massive power outages and winds that can kill.
But this storm was not that. At least not for millions of people who were told their lives were about to end and their island would be disconnected from the United States, sent out to drift, and subject to alien spaceshifts playing target practice on big buildings in the Atlantic Ocean. Okay. Maybe that is not what was said.. but what was said obviously led to fear and panic..
Last night during the brief snow that hit my part of Pennsylvania, I took my dog for a walk and noticed several yards were covered in footprints, sleigh paths, and tunnels. It was amazing to see the work of children playing their hearts out on a cold and school-less winter day.
But that is not the scene in the trendy Big Apple. At least not according to the evidence supplied by this photo.. This photo shows an opposite era than one in the past. Now we hide behind walls and computer screens. We live blog our reactions, and we Tweet about weather.
But we don’t get out and enjoy it. Play in it. Live in it.
Live a little. It’s snow. And obviously, it’s not the big storm promised..
I love the energy of Times Square. I think a lot of people missed out on that energy by hiding away from flakes as they fell …
BUT THEN.. Just when hope is lost.. and image comes across a wire like this: People acting like children in the snowy city:
While the panic ensued and bread and milk vanished from store shelves about the blizzard that turned into the fizzard, there was something mightily amazing happening well above our heads in outer space..
There was a frighteningly close shave experienced by the planet Earth.
On Monday, asteroid 2004 BL86 was traveling at 35,000 miles .. it passed around 3.1 times the distance of the Earth to the moon. And when it did, there was quite an amazing sight: The asteroid HAS ITS OWN MOON! This asteroid was discovered in 2004.. the passby it had yesterday was the closest it will be until 2027..This asteroid was so big, obviously, that a moon was gravitated in for the wild ride..
The other obvious aspect of this story: This was exceptionally close.. at least we knew about it since 2004.. If it would have now–or does in 2027–it would be equal to several Hiroshima bombs.. It would be a mass extinction event.. But last night we were safe. Instead we panicked in big cities and bought every crumb of bread and ounce of milk that stores had..
At some point we need to realize that the real threat–and yet ironically the place we should be trying to reach–is space. This one let us live. But it’s the other asteroids floating and whirling in space that we don’t know about which keeps people awake at night..
The Weather Channel went wall-to-wall on coverage for the storm they called Juno.. other networks had their reporters out ready with yardsticks..but each time they did a live report, the snow was vacant and the streets were covered in a simple slushy mess..
Parts of Long Island had a long duration wind storm, and Boston seemed to be the hardest hit of the big cities when speaking of snow totals.. But 6000+ flights later, you sure wonder if the threat was big or if the hype simply took over ..
After all, forecasters have to pick now from dozens of computer models where as, in those ancient days of the 20th century, they’d get guidance from a model and forecast it themselves.
While the major metropolitan areas–with people well-stocked with bread, milk, and liquor–were spared, the real blizzard will take place but not in the big cities.. Maine and Nova Scotia will be getting hit hard.. But will the media care? Will they report? Will they decide?
The bust was a gust, But hype they must! Fear gets ratings. And empty store shelves.. Stock boys must be hating.

Mutley the dog is not scared of snow. But he was quite alarmed at his own shadow tonight.
A snowy scene somewhere near an abandoned mine in the coal region of Pennsylvania, as a blizzard of 2015 forms 200 miles away…
A moment captured in time.. as we prep and shop for every last loaf of bread across the Northeast, perspective is key.
Here’s some images of a storm past. Namely the great blizzard of 1888.. While I was alive for 93, 96, 03, and 07’s massive blasts, I surely wasn’t present for the 1888 monster–at least not in my current human form. And neither were you.. but the images are striking, and somewhat haunting. The one I chose to push through with the link for this story shows people silently staring at the camera as they attempted to slowly dig out of the monster that befell them.. Amazing images indeed.
I trust within the coming days we will see even more amazing images–but modern and new as the blizzard of 2015 descends on 30+ million people strong.
A security perimeter has been set up but spokesman Josh Earnest said that he drone posed no threat to the life or limb of anyone inside or the building itself.. But a drone found near the White House lawn? With the drones of the future dominating our skies, lots of weird accidents and purposely landings will be happening..
The Drudge Report has been blasting old images of lovers in New York City parks surrounded by snow.. those scenes may play out again in our new age. The part of this which may be the most historic of all: 28 million people are in blizzard warnings and another 11 million are in winter storm warnings and advisories.. this is a widespread monster.
And it is the kind that has not been seen for decades–some people in the area will be experiencing a monster snowstorm like this for the first time in their lives, as they were not present no this planet in 1993 and 1996..
Another point of chaos with the upcoming blizzard: Flight cancellations and delays. And lots of them.. Airlines were preparing to shut down operations along the East Coast late Sunday, leading to the cancellation of approximately 3,000 flights at this time.. That’s a lot.
@Drudge in the mood for love with some old fashioned blizzard pictures from Central Park as the new modern blizzard forms..

The snow has started here on the eastern side of Pennsylvania.. Good luck during the blizzard of 2015.
And if you see this guy, give him what he wants and he may go away….
The SMILEY FACE theory of murder.. ripe for horror movies.. BUT.. I am still doubtful of this as a true theory.. but there have been LOTS of strange deaths lately among healthy college men.. And they all seem to involve floating in water near a path that they should not have taken to get home after drinking.. Is there a serial killer somewhere on the the loose killing all of these men the same way?
You can read the WIKI on this.. It seems tough to think there is something nefarious going on. But for some reason, healthy teenage boys or men in the early 20s drown..
But they do happen when people are drinking. Could all of these deaths be suicide? Or could there be a true SMILEY FACE theory that sensibly connects all of the strange deaths across the nation? You may be interested in joining the discussion on Facebook where a dedicated SMILEY FACE killer theory page has been established..
The National Weather Service has upgraded a blizzard watch to a blizzard warning for the central New Jersey coast all the way to the Canadian border, including Boston and New York City.
Mayor Bill de Blasio warns New Yorkers to “prepare for something worse” than what they have seen before. “We are facing most likely one of the largest snowstorms in the history of this city.”
Twenty to 30 inches of snow is possible in some areas with winds gusting 55 to 65 mph. The National Weather Service says whiteout conditions will make travel extremely dangerous.
“Slenderman” sightings in the UK have prompted paranormal investigation.. reports of an 8-foot man haunting people, causing sleep paralysis.. The term ‘slenderman’ came from a Creepypasta a few years back, but the notion of a tall slender man with a pale white face has been in culture for centuries. What is strange about this is how many similar stories of this type of man are suddenly coming from the UK mining town of Staffordshire..
OPERATIONAL MODELS ARE A GO.. A MAJOR BLIZZARD IS ABOUT HIT THE NORTHEAST.. This could be impressive and historic..
There are chances that by Tuesday parts of Jersey, New York, Boston, and others cities along the seaboard will be measuring the snow with a yard stick..
Travel disruptions due to the snow should be anticipated as early as the Monday morning commute around Philadelphia and New York City.
