A little treasure found in a pawn shop in the Schuylkill Mall in Frackville PA.. Feels like the 80s again when I see these for sale. Of course minus the boxes and comic inserts..
Oh, and stores and shoppers.
I met up with a friend who informed me that she went to a place called RetroCon. It’s filled with toys and nostalgia from my childhood.. and it’s only about 90 minutes away in Oaks, PA..
I really can’t believe I’ve heard about this now only for the first time. I do intend on making 2014 the year we get there..
You may have seen this article before, or the concept of it: Toys that are made so much more valuable after many years because they were never opened from their original packages.
In this case, 18 MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE toys worth hundreds of dollars each if they maintain themselves in their cardboard casings from the 1980s.
But I think back.. there’d certainly be no way as a child I would have chosen to NOT open these toys.. and even more, what’st he point? Sure, there’s monetary value now on them, but.. the endless hours and rivalries on my bedroom floor that I imagined would have been nonexistent.
And that’s completely worthless…
Interesting article from the NEW REPUBLIC: NETFLIX has a plan to rewire our entire culture.
That’s fine, NETFLIX.
I pay for you.
But please stop taking off movies that I grow to enjoy being on there.. and stop taking away all the 1980s HE-MAN seasons just when I get my three year old to accept them and their 1980s-style greatness!
At least they left me with this:
I figured, what better way to start a Sunday.. right?
