Firm behind Apple’s Spaceship HQ reveals plans for Mars habitat
And it’s going to be future shock for some..
‘The design of the habitat – carried out in collaboration with industrial and academic partners – envisions a robust 3D-printed dwelling for up to four astronauts constructed using regolith – the loose soil and rocks found on the surface of Mars,’ it said.The settlement on Mars will be constructed by an array of pre-programmed, semi-autonomous robots prior to the eventual arrival of the astronauts. The habitat will be delivered in two stages prior to the arrival of the astronauts. First, the semi-autonomous robots select the site and dig a 1.5 metre deep crater, followed by a second delivery of the inflatable modules which sit within the crater to form the core of the settlement.

Party line
I called 760-733-9969 a few times since Clyde Lewis mentioned it on his show last night.. Though I had heard about the famed Mojave desert phone booth many times over, I had forgotten it returned a few years ago thanks to someone who bought the line and made a conference call bridge out of it..
Obviously with the newfound attention of Ground Zero listeners, the number has a vast possibility of gaining traction all over again..
The call this morning was at times annoying, frantic, strange, bizarre.. Creepy. People speaking about Jesus and also crying out about the devil. At one point when there were only about six people on it, I actually had a bit of a meaningful conversation with the people talking..
I promise this: Some more urban legend and desert facts about the Mojave phone booth will be coming after I conduct more research.. And also more phone calls will be placed to hear the shenanigans and strangeness greeting me on the other end..
Certainly hope Clyde Lewis does another show about it in total..

THE POLTERGEIST FAIL
The POLTERGEIST remake is released today.. For better or worse.. And while some horror fans may be enthusiastic about the prospects of the classic film, modernized, being in theaters, others are decrying a lack of imagination, and over abundant use of CGI, and a sloppy uninspired mess of a movie.. You can find the reviews yourself–the review roundup on ROTTEN TOMATOES isn’t pretty, with the film scoring less than half positive press with writers.. Horror site BLOODY DISGUSTING checked in with its own review of the movie, with the site lamenting the overuse of special effects, the acting that just doesn’t seem to be convincing, and a climax of the movie suffering from what Kalyn Corrigan called fake-looking spirits.. The movie, it can be said, doesn’t prove itself when compared to the classic from the early 1980s.. I frankly still can’t understand why this movie was picked from the litter of horror films as the target for a re-do. There was almost no need, perhaps less of a need than even Rob Zombie’s messups of the HALLOWEEN films. POLTERGEIST, circa 1982, is a movie about family, love, spirits, death, mystery, and illusion. The modern fare seems more bent on cheap scares and lousy special effects that don’t do anything but give a jump or two in a movie theater. Certainly no long-lasting nostalgia will be created by this remake.. Poorly done, from the reviews I have read, and perhaps something not at all worth it in theaters..

More first hand reporting on the AMTRAK train crash in Philadelphia
Thanks to an NBC NEWS producer.. MORE.. Janelle Richards, an NBC Nightly News producer, was on the train. She said all of a sudden she heard a loud crash and people flew up in the air, there was a lot of jerking back and forth, a lot of smoke, then everything just stopped and people starting asking how to get off the train. “The people that were able to get up, stood up and were able to find an exit,” Richard, who was okay, said. Richards said her car did not tip over. A passenger on the train had blood streaming from her face as they got up and made their way to the rear of the train car, where a man was able to open up a door wide enough for them to get out.

DEVELOPING: AMTRAK CRASHES IN PHILLY!
An Amtrak train has crashed in Philadelphia, and several people appear to be injured. Train 188 was traveling from Washington, D.C., to New York City on Tuesday night when it crashed. MORE.. First responders are swarming onto the scene.. An AP reporter was on the train.. a former Congressman is too, and is tweeting pictures.. SUCH AS THIS PHOTO It would also appear that Patrick Murphy broke the news, Tweeting that he was just on am Amtrak that crashed..

It’s like a setup for a new NINJA TURTLES movie… instead of Shredder and the Foot Soldiers, this is reality.. Various sources report: A rogue group of subway vandals calling them the ‘Subway Conquestors’ is allegedly on a mission to attack the rail system From CBS in NEW YORK: Police sources believe they were responsible for an explosion in the Bronx, and have been linked to one at Brooklyn’s Nostrand Avenue station in April. In the Nostrand Avenue incident, police arrestedKeyshawn Brown, 16, and accused him of placing a piece of metal on the tracks. “There are plenty of other people out there in the same gang, engaging in the same activities,” Max Diamond explained. Diamond is a self-proclaimed rail enthusiast. He has tracked the group for two years on social media. He said the acts are getting more extreme as the vandals try to one up each other. They have been accused of changing destination signs to confuse passengers, surfing train cars, and stealing MTA equipment and gear.

Nepal shakes rattles and rolls all over again
At least four people have been killed by the 7.3 magnitude quake that hit Nepal on Tuesday, the International Organization for Migration said. Paul Dillon, a spokesman for the organization, told CNN that the deaths occurred in the town of Chautara, east of Kathmandu.

Seymour no more Bin Laden: White House responds
Seymour Hersh rocked the world a bit today with the story that the Bin Laden raid was faked and staged.. I wrote earlier that a number of conspiracy theorists already theorized that the raid either did not occur or did not occur as said.. The White House was forced to respond to the story today, calling the Hersh story baseless Being that Seymour Hersh and not Alex Jones is saying this, I think the media will be forced to pay more attention–not that it should matter if a story is backed up by facts.. The White House refuting this isn’t going to make the story vanish. But speaking of staged. There is one thing I want to bring your memory hole back to for a moment.. Remember after Bin Laden’s death was announced, official media sources got a hold of that magic photo of the Administration paying close attention to what was described as live coverage of the raid–Hillary Clinton upped the ante a bit with her hands over her mouth in shock. But it came out a bit later–and was not widely reported–that the original White House account of the ADMIN watching the ‘firefight’ did not really happen. As a matter of fact, the head of the CIA was forced to admit that live video footage of the event did not even happen. It’s your choice what to believe. OR not believe.

How to find the origin of a quote on the Internet. In the matrix.
nI read a link posted by George Knapp on Facebook and Twitter tonight to a website called Educating Humanity. The link describes well respected people who say we may be living in a simulated reality. A matrix.. Just like the movie version.. This quote, in particular, was present: Rich Terrile, director of the Centre for Evolutionary Computation and Automated Design at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, has spoken out about the digital simulation. “Right now the fastest NASA supercomputers are cranking away at about double the speed of the human brain,” the NASA scientist told Vice. “ If you make a simple calculation using Moore’s Law [which roughly claims computers double in power every two years], you’ll find that these supercomputers, inside of a decade, will have the ability to compute an entire human lifetime of 80 years – including every thought ever conceived during that lifetime – in the span of a month. “In quantum mechanics, particles do not have a definite state unless they’re being observed. "Many theorists have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how you explain this. "One explanation is that we’re living within a simulation, seeing what we need to see when we need to see it. "What I find inspiring is that, even if we are in a simulation or many orders of magnitude down in levels of simulation, somewhere along the line something escaped the primordial ooze to become us and to result in simulations that made us – and that’s cool.” While searching for Rich Terrile’s actual quote in VICE (the aforementioned story didn’t link the VICE article), I found YOUR NEWS WIRE declaring this headline: Universe A Matrix Computer Game Designed By Aliens, Say NASA Now, with all due respect to YOUR NEWS WIRE, one scientist speaking doesn’t proclaim NASA’s official position. And even more, if you read then quote displayed originally by Terrille, he said that some theorists have claimed this and that he finds it cool. As do I.. But… Terrile didn’t proclaim we are all simulated and fake. And it certainly didn’t warrant this headline from another strange site I found called ST THOMAS AQUINAS VS NASA (real stuff) .. They went as far as calling this scientist insane for saying that some people say something that other people have always contemplated. The UK EXPRESS fishwrapper over in the UK also did its part, saying that a NASA scientist said we ‘May’ be living in a matrix. Even though he entertained the thoughts only of others, as I said.. With a keen eye, you may notice the text of the EXPRESS article is the same as the others.. which means someone copied off of someone. And with the net, it’s tough to tell if the chicken or the egg came first. In this case, the quote or the highly copied story reposted and reposted all over again. But finally, all of these stories regardless of who the first one to write it was, all mentioned that Rich Terrille was interviewed by VICE .. and that is where all sources are deriving the quote about the simulated matrix notion…I thought about this long and hard, and something was telling me I heard this all before.. Like I read it before. Like maybe I was in a simulated matrix and someone kept rebroadcasting the same link over and over again. So I checked the COAL SPEAKER archive and realized hat this quote was printed on my very site in 2012!! Years ago.. So did I someone hear it before St. Thomas who hates NASA did? And the Knapp linked site? And the EXPRESS? No.. I Checked VICE actually had an article in 2012. Proof here: http://ift.tt/1F9Jq68 … and even more interesting, the VICE article THEN quoting Terrille actually talks about a show he appeared on in 2010: THROUGH THE WORMHOLE.. So … that would mean all of these websites TODAY featuring this quotation as if it’s new are actually repeating news from 5 years ago. Think of it like this: If you were in your matrix, bought a car in May 2010, you now own your car. But also there is a good likelihood that your car was fixed at least 6 times and had way too many things happen to it, causing you to doubt your reality and hate your existence. But you also most likely had the chance to go to a car dealership and eat their “free” popcorn while your car was looked at by professionals, who told you that your car was ‘done for’ and that you should be a new car. And you’re going through it all over again. All in this matrix. But the theory is interesting, don’t get me wrong. I think about it often. The offensive part, to me, is how the internet has a knack for repeating and regurgitating articles simply for click porn. Especially when higher profile people link it without realizing that it was first reported in 2012. And 2010. All in the matrix. All by sims. On earth.

Chewing gum dumb
There is news about a study today proving–proving no less–than chewing gum increases the chances of getting a song stuck in your head OUT OF YOUR HEAD.. The conclusion of this revolutionary study came from asking less than 100 people and asking them about whether they had songs stuck in their head after chewing bubble gum.. No mention on the type of gum–maybe the aspartame of the sugar free brand fried their remaining brain cells just trying to stay happy with a good tune..? Nonetheless, while the study is being shared on social media locations with ease, I am doubting the conclusions. I don’t chew gum often–mostly because I have researched a little too much of the added chemicals. I chew fresh ginger.. And if it’s strong enough, that will make you forget anything.. Next for the researchers of this University: Scaring people gets rid of hiccups. A study of 5 people.

Now come the locusts..
What plague will be next!? There is a fascinating story making the rounds online.. Originally reported in the Courier Mail in the UK, PLAGUES of locusts have been devouring their way through the state’s central west compounding the hardships suffered by drought-affected farmers. Get this..Matthew Killoran writes, More than 150 swarms have been reported to Biosecurity Queensland so far this year, with some reported to be more than 40ha in size and thick enough to “black out the sky”.While their activity has been dying down as winter approaches, there are fears eggs are lying dormant waiting to return in favourable weather conditions.There were only 15 swarms reported throughout the state from 2011 and 2013. But before you get ready for a Christian style rapture, keep in mind that this pest is somewhat normal and there are stories from history of it happening. And while that’s fine and dandy, just picture a wall of locusts flying at you.. Maybe it’s time to consider harvesting them. I hear they can be tasty morsels of crunchy flavor.

17 years later, JK Rowling says sorry for killing off HARRY POTTER character.. This brings up a thought. I have always wondered if authors become glued to their characters that the create, almost with a parental duty to keep them safe. And likewise, when they kill them off, do they face some sort of never ending guilt about the consequences of creating a life and then ending it?

On death and dying
ORIGINALLY WRITTEN and published on NIGHT TERROR NEWS after the death of my friend this past week. Let me fill you in on a little secret: You saw someone today that is going to die. As a matter of fact, you saw a lot of people that are going to die. And it all started this morning when you glanced in the mirror and tried to understand the ball of electrons and atoms staring back at you, vibrating in some form of reality that your mind tries to make sense of. But in reality doesn’t get one bit of..I knew someone who died today. A few days ago, I alluded to a friend who was afflicted with cancer, and who was succumbing to the disease after his battle began to end. He passed away from this world early in the morning, and has become the latest person in my life and close circle of friends and family to meet destiny. I suppose someone out there reading this right now may have the same moment of sadness and grief as well. Death is common, after all..My heart is distraught and my mind is reeling. I am attempting to understand the significance of life and somehow juxtapose that with the rapidity of death. Our arrogance and affluence permits us to borrow time. But that time is fleeting. All things must end, including the worries and fears, smiles and hugs. All things must end.. And that’s the part that darkens my spirits this evening..The internet has been a wonderful thing. And an awful thing all at the same time. For much of my life, I expressed myself in private settings. I would summons my artistic powers and draw cartoons or comics in the good times. In the bad times I’d plant the seed of darkness and expel all of my emotions using less vibrant colors.. less humor.. More of the deeper stuff, I suppose. But with the advent of the Internet during my late high school years, that source of artistic adventure was turned off, met instead with the HTML coding and eventually blog services that would steal the paint. I have tried to draw now and then. For the most part I either can’t think of something or I am mentally unable to focus long enough to make a picture look good, good like I think they used to. So instead now, I write. And tonight I feel that need to write, to get thoughts down in this setting, and surrender myself for a while to the tears that indeed are flowing due to the death of a friend. This special person and I were also coworkers. Most of the time, when we talked, our chats would turn into conversations and often times feel never ending. But in a very good way. Once we got work off the table, our talks would turn deeper and other-worldly. He, like me, consistently pondered about the meaning of life, the purpose of our bodies, and the questionable reality of our souls. I often thought that God is math, he thought God was electricity. Either way, neither of us had the belief that God was the large white male with a beard that Catholic nuns had taught us. A little more of a nuanced approach to faith was in play once we got talking..I will forever miss these talks–these amazing moments in which both of us let our guards down on purpose and spoke freely and openly about fears and superstitions, facts and figures. Now tonight, I suppose one can say he knows the answers to the mysteries of the planet earth. As do many others by the second.x x xMy son falls asleep to music now. Instead of bed time stories, we quietly play YouTube videos of songs he likes to relax him. His little four-year-old nature is perceptive. He knew I was sad today and asked why.. I honestly told him what had occurred, and he looked down and admitted “that is sad, Daddy.” Of course, as a child would do, he eventually wanted to think about those innocent kid things again. Which was fine for me, wrestling my son when he is calling himself the Incredible Hulk is much better than focusing on negativity all night. But before he fell asleep, he picked the CIRCLE OF LIFE song from the LION KING. Somehow the words had an extra special meaning today, this day, when the CIRCLE OF LIFE was completed for one and undoubtedly beginning for a lot more.. x x x The death toll in Nepal is rising rapidly. And that is the horror so often seen in this world. One earthquake has taken the lives of thousands of poor people who were living in squalor already. The Prime Minister said the numbers could get to a frightening level of 10,000 or more.. Death at that scale happens from time to time on this planet. Either Mother Nature is busy utilizing the tricks of the trade to steal the lives of humans, or Man himself thinks of plots to murder his fellow friends on the earth. Deadly days are always here–the end of the world, feared by many, happens every single day.x x xI am not a hopeless person. I am not someone who enjoys reliving the dour over and over again–some who know me, even close friends, often accuse me of that very thing. Instead, I contemplate these events of sadness and grief in an attempt to understand them. Sometimes even to quell my loud laughter on purpose.. because I need to know what I am laughing at. Events of awful nature can often put things in a greater perspective. Ever have one of the day job moments when backbiting, sour apple co-workers, and meaningless office politics takes over your existence? When you think that those things actually matter? You get shaken up now and then. You meet a bigger destiny.. You often meet a maker. x x x Death has been called the great equalizer. We all share one bond on this planet, regardless of rich or poor dispositions: We will have the common event of an ending at some point. We hope far away in the distance.. We long for the taste and smells of life. But they go away..x x xI recall about a year ago, my work had a conference. That same person who died today was alive and well then, just diagnosed with cancer. He and others, along with me, went to a fancy steak house and he splurged, buying all of us dinner and a few rounds. He wanted no argument at the time the bill came. He wanted to pay. That was his nature–but that night even more, because he wanted us to remember a rancorous good time of loud laughter, cold beer, and great food. All on him–his gift to us… This is one of his finest moments, and perhaps one of his happiest. The sight of us allowing him to get the tab made him the happiest man in the room that evening. He was a consummate professional but also a never-ending entertainer. He played songs loud and sang louder. He lit up a room when he entered. Those rooms lit by the fire of his existence are dark this night.x x xWhat is life? What is death? Those questions are asked so often that we fail to even care anymore..Instead in the age of smart phones when a hand held device gives us all of the information we crave, we stopped asking the important things.Hillary Clinton is apparently going against some of Bill’s crime policies from the 90s. Jeb Bush did something too. I don’t recall what it was. And I frankly don’t care. These are not the stories of human passion that we should be hearing.We should be racing for the stars, trying to find Mars.. By now cancer should be gone.. At this point, all people should have a chance for a happy life. Every child should share in the dreams of a planet.. Life is too short.. By the time you get to this point in this posting, it’s even shorter for you.x x xA little rock and roll heaven may be needed for a moment like tonight.. So enjoy it.. Life is only a one night stand.
