MIT Scientists Say Humans Would Rather Take Orders From Robots

That’s right.. turn in your apron, servers.. put down the ice shaker, bartenders.. Robots are coming.. And with them come happiness. According to MIT.

I don’t know if I believe the study..
And even more.. I find it to be programming—putting the thought into the conscious world so the unconscious mind accepts it.

Calling Dick Tracey…
What was science fiction then is reality now.

This is how people are going to be reading news.. they won’t be checking the time, they will be fixated on their arms to get the latest headlines and sports scores..

I believe it’s just a matter of time before the devices get implanted.. we are as close to it as we can be..

Google to collect data to create a full picture of what a healthy human being is

The future is always now.. this was eventual, as anything technological really is at this point.

Google is trying to go deep inside the human body.. it’s going to give guidance on what a ‘healthy’ human is..

This:

The study may, for instance, reveal a biomarker that helps some people break down fatty foods efficiently, helping them live a long time without high cholesterol and heart disease. Others may lack this trait and succumb to early heart attacks. Once Baseline has identified the biomarker, researchers could check if other people lack it and help them modify their behavior or develop a new treatment to help them break down fatty foods better, Dr. Conrad said.

Sounds fine, dandy, healthy, and Googly. But what else is there behind that scene..

Imagine a future, where transhumanism is in full supply, and you get the sniffles.. then a sore throat.. then.. Google it! Search your body deep to get an answer.. let a computer scan through your organs, get your vitals, and spit back to what of the 1000s of named diseases you actually have. That would be an amazing future.

But of course with each passage of wonderful technology comes the ability to use it for awful things.

But Google won’t be evil. Right?

I don't want to remember when this serum is released

Is this where we want to go with science? The erasing of memories? Scientists have proclaimed to have done it with rats! Would humans be next? Are we already? It would almost make me wonder if Alzheimer’s is a manmade disease!? Certainly that sound far-fetched, but so does the actual news of science erasing the memories in the brain of a rat.. So there you go: erase your painful memories. Also.. the good ones.. also all of them. Just be a vacant vessel of nothing, where human emotion is meaningless and the purpose of life is lost. That’s the future if we erase memories.. Memories are meant to be shared, had.. and often lamented. And yes, painful memories should serve a purpose, too. A witness who sees a murder and then can’t remember it in court is pointless.. or even scarier, a woman who is given a date rate drug that erases the memory of the rape.. don’t tell me rapists wouldn’t want to get their disgusting hands on that serum..

A new 'time distortion' pill can make a prisoner feel like 8 hours is 1,000 years

So.. I ask: is it ethical, moral, and just to use punishment in pills like that?
It’s the future. Actually the present.. And science fiction is fast becoming reality..

Memories.. from the corner of my mind

This is going down a road that we may not want to..

Scientists are learning how to shape our memory by testing chemicals that can DELETE THEM!

Some memories are bad, and some who have went through awful stuff, well, they just want to forget it.

But when power as this rests in the hands of an elite few, to what end does that justify? Deleting memories, forever?

Shaping the reality we have lived? I find this scientific endeavor to be dangerous..

The future of earth: Hostile and angry.. The mid-life crisis for the planet is upon us

A respectable publication, the UK INDEPENDENT, has a headline zooming its way around the Internet(s) tonight thanks to Drudge for linking it.. The topic: The Earth and the sudden mid-life crisis the planet finds itself in..

SEE HERE

The report focuses on the how the future will be quite hostile to life. While we may find it hostile already, the type of planet Jack O’Malley-James is talking about goes a little like this, as the INDEPENDENT reports:

According to leading scientist Jack O’Malley-James, life on Earth will perish in more than a billion years when a warming sun boils oceans and forces out CO2, damning plants and subsequently animals.

Most life will have died by the planet reaches 70s (or 6.5 billion-years-old), he says, with any microorganisms confined to pools of residual water.

“The far-future Earth will be very hostile to life,” Mr O’Malley-James said. “It will be restricted to pockets of liquid water, perhaps at cooler higher altitudes or in caves.

And you thought WE had it tough!

Quite a bad picture painted by this expert—and many others.

The immediate future may not feature boiling oceans.. but we do have a water crisis coming, quite possibly a food crisis, and a changing earth making some rough weather happen in places that never had it.

That mid-life crisis is never easy..

The wired future.. I will make my prediction for the record.

Not to be outdone by Google, APPLE is now hinting that you will soon be able to wear their technology.. which propels me to re-re-re-state my prediction from ten years back concerning wearable devices. At some point in our near future we will have technology implanted. Your phone will be your hand. Your brain will be wired to the Net.
Unless that big solar flares gets us all..

So yes, that means if the world doesn’t end, you’ll be on Tumblr will be literally in your fingertips. But do you really want Yahoo to be that close to you?

I'm looking for answers here....

Readers, viewers, listeners, fans, friends… Give me your thoughts… I had a late night Father’s Day talk with my own father last night. We dicussed some interesting issues, including this: What would happen if robots took over earth? Would they suck away oxygen? ..destroy humans? … kill us all? It could happen. We have given our technology almost more power than us..Send me your thoughts on my open lines page.. And I’ll answer..

If this is the future, find me a time machine to stay in the past.

Even the flannels that women wore in the early 90s making them look uglier than they should have been are better garments than the odd futuristic designs presented at this Moscow show.

The future: Cars may be banned from UK cities by 2050

Interesting future the world is heading to.. Draconian. Strange. What will society be like by 2050? …for one, it may not be very mobile, unless perhaps by then we will have teleportation technology.
