300 quakes in Chile.. 300 prisoners in Chile
This is an obvious rumor at this point.. but there is an ABC News Tweet about Chile tonight saying that 300 prisoners may have escaped from prison in the aftermath of the big 8.2 quake

ART BELL FOOLS DAY?
Art Bell posted a message today that he is coming back.
If it’s an April Fools joke, there may be lots of Facebook unfriending afterwards..
When I told my father about the possible return, he didn’t even want to hear about it.. My dad was the biggest Bell fan for years. Until the SIRIUS XM departure.. he felt slighted. Lots of fans did.
The ones who held on may be even more slighted if this turns out to be a joke or they have to wait another year and a half to hear a potential show..

I thought a lot about this before posting..
I debated whether or not I should spread the word of a horrible crime .. does me posting about it continue the horror? I don’t know. But I can tell you this, when I read the story of a young innocent baby boy dying in a hospital in Jermyn PA, I teared up.. I will tell you why in a second..
We know this: 10-month-old Silas was brutally beaten by his mother’s boyfriend. Charges have been filed against Eddie Widdick ..Baby Silas had brain injuries, a rib fracture, and hemorrhages in both eyes.. he had bruises on his head and torso.. Widdick is now in in a jail in Lackawanna County on $150,000 bail.
Child crimes have always happened—I get that..
But my inquisitive mind read the comments on the Citizens VOICE newspaper page.. one commenter mentioned that Widdick’s Facebook page was still active.. It is. I poured through some recent history as the page was not yet deleted and information was not set to private.. While I certainly will not post the photos, but a number of posts actually had baby Silas in them.. There are comments on that post saying RIP and “you sick F*&” to Widdick.. So many images of the baby were beautiful.. But Widdick, the charged man, eventually beat this child to death days after many of the pictures were taken, prosecutors say..
There is something very macabre about what I did.. In a sense, I feel I peeled back an onion, but when I did it was rotten to the core.. I feel very guilty about seeing these photos. First off, they are someone else’s private collection—though on Facebook so often people don’t realize how much private stuff just gets put out there for all to see, including this.. And secondly, obviously, the innocence of any child is so clear, especially when a horrible crime happens to him or her. This baby is no different.
I just want to forget I read this headline.. I want to forget I saw those Facebook images.. I just want to eliminate the sadness from my brain.
I don’t think I can..

Pity the fool who celebrates April Fools
I loathe April Fools Day. I have always loathed April Fools Day, from the time when children used to scream ‘April Fools!” in shrill voices after completing some type of unfunny prank to today.
And now today, with the internet, it can be April Fools every day. How many times have you seen someone fall for a fake story on the ONION? Or even fake news from the mainstream media..?
But the worst of the worst in our modern times are these undoubtedly fake ‘news’ stories that passed around from reader to reader on April fools day.. I saw a few really unfunny stories the moment I woke up this morning. For example, a website I follow that reports actual legitimate information regarding solar flares announced that a killshot had exploded from the sun and we were doomed to die. So tacky, so not funny.. and so possible one day in the future that it is REALLY not humorous at all.. I equate that with the Weather Channel giving fake tornado reports and alarming entire towns that imminent destruction is on the horizon.
Other definites to expect on April Fools: The fraud stories that your favorite celebrity has died.. the tales that some weird scientific discovery has just be made..
Perhaps the very most annoying April fools jokes still come from terrestrial radio of the 20th century. Disc jockeys who are aging and still want to be the next ‘Jerky Boy’ come up with some of the most ludicrously unfunny ‘pranks.’
But with every holiday we ‘celebrate’ there is a root meaning behind it.. no different for April fools. The 1st of April is really a day with an intention that you do thinks to make other people look like fools. True fools.. Jokes on them kind of stuff..
There are ancient precursors to the modern April fools day found in Roman and Medieval feasts..There are different customs of jokes from around the world..
Some think that there are religious reasons why April fools pranks started.. and if religious history is involved, no doubt pagan rituals also abound. People do trace April fools back to some pagan traditions..
And yes.. going full steam ahead down from the pagan path to a point of no return, some people even equate April fools to Satan himself.
In the end, we know this:

Try to maintain your composure when some annoying co worker shouts “APRIL FOOLS!!!” at you..
Know that it’s only one day, and it’s almost over.
And this: You will find out a lot about the ‘sense of humor’ of people—especially those who have no ability to tell jokes or be funny at all and still try today.. so often those without any common sense of humor will have an immense belly laugh at their own jokes..
