Some more weird stuff going on in Sochi.. First the toilets, then the warnings over water, and now this: Olympic village may have enough condoms but reports indicate they don’t have enough pillows.. .. It is so bad, residents have been told to surrender theirs..
Get ready for Name Tag: It's the app that will kill privacy
Just think, a random person walking down the sidewalk wearing Google glass look at you and completely ID you, know all there is to know, thus ending privacy once and for all. It’s not science fiction it’s now.

Mystery 'Plague' Hits Texas High School, 700 Students And Staff Members Affected With Violent Illness (VIDEO)
A mystery virus being referred to as ‘the plague’ continues to sweep through a Texas high school, having already infected over 700 students and staff members and causing them to become violently ill.
Officials are trying to figure out where the ‘plague’ came from.. Some are actually making a few jokes of saying, saying More Plague equals More Parking.. Others, according to the story, are wondering if it has something to do with the school cafeteria..
But one thing that, for me at least, is unsettling.
As soon as I read the initial reports from RSOE EDIS about the Texas plague infecting almost 1000 people immediately, I remembered something from 2013. At that time, a number of media sources reported that the actual ‘plague’—the Bubonic Plague—was stolen from Texas tech.. I cannot seem to recall a wrap up on the story. I had sort of taken it off my radar of news gathering, simply because there’s too much to worry about already.
When the newest news broke in Texas, my mind immediately went back to it..
While I am certainly and sure that the sickness rolling through that school isn’t the deadly plague of a Bubonic nature, it’s just amazing to see the word ‘plague’ used to describe the illness. Could it be the media attempting to over-dramatize the situation?
I’m sure if you were one of the 700+ that got sick within seconds you’d say it’s not overly dramatic at all…
Meanwhile…
Is there anyone out there who can tell me if the Bubonic plague was ever recovered?

Frozen solid
Life is pretty much at a standstill at my home base and many others across the Midwest and Northeast… We had a major snow storm and it turned into a major ice storm as temperatures warmed up.
While Armageddon has yet to occur, several forecasters were calling for it. Grocery stores were filled with rude and ignorant humans.. And an occasional bike purchase was made, for some strange reason.
Being prepared is fine. But being prepared by buying every gallon of milk in nonsensical.
People need to watch more PREPPERS

Porn's influence is real. Sex education is the answer by Rhiannon Lucy Cosslett
This is a dry graphic article but also eye opening . While I’m not a proponent of banning anything I still think that it’s worth debating for the societal aspect of what porn is doing to men, women, and relationships.
And also, the UK GUARDIAN referring to ‘seagulling’ in the report is pretty darn British. I don’t think you’d see that in USA today.

Red Hot Chili Peppers at Center of Super Bowl Miming Controversy
Their guitars weren’t even plugged on.
They didn’t even pretend.
Just fake.
The best thrill of the super bowl was watching Bruno Mars’ hair stand still for 10 solid minutes.

Journalists at Sochi are live-tweeting their hilarious and gross hotel experiences
The tweets sound pretty gross .. There was also a warning to some in a hotel not to wash faces with water.
Boy it sure sounds like people covering his year’s winter games got the short end of the reporting stick in Sochi..

Justice Antonin Scalia says World War II-style internment camps could happen again
Justice Antonin Scalia predicts that the Supreme Court will eventually authorize another a wartime abuse of civil rights such as the internment camps for Japanese Americans during World War II.
I know, there are politically charged arguments concerning Scalia’s comments.. and lots of left leaning folks are slamming him. *(Just as right leaning ones would if Ginsberg or Sotomayor said it)* .. but I agree with him in principle. And certainly, looking at the way human beings act during difficult situations, the way they panic, and the way they haphazardly pass PATRIOT ACTS, it can happen again.

TV Ratings: Super Bowl XLVIII Is Most-Watched in History With 111.5 Million Viewers
Final ratings are in for the 2014 Super Bowl — and, contrary to early returns which saw the game ranking fifth, the blowout did end up being the biggest to date. An average 111.5 million viewers tuned in to see the Seattle Seahawks blow the Denver Broncos out of the water, making it the most-watched Super Bowl and the most-watched show in U.S. television history.
And think about it.. the most boring Super Bowl of all time with the most mediocre ads and lamest half time show getting more ratings than any other event in UNITED STATES history. That’s a lot of history.. and a lot of events that mattered much more than a game between two teams that make millions of dollars a second more than you do in a lifetime.
See here in America, we tend to ignore the important things and focus on what does not matter at all..
The sleepless in Seattle ragers most likely watched the game to see their city’s team win.. And they rioted.
Meanwhile, in the Ukraine, people took to the streets to protest what actually mattered. The scenes of fire and flame may be similar, but the issue at hand is much different. Here we get inflamed over the trivial and meaningless.. in other parts of the world, some things are still worth fighting for.
