TV Ratings: Super Bowl XLVIII Is Most-Watched in History With 111.5 Million Viewers

And think about it.. the most boring Super Bowl of all time with the most mediocre ads and lamest half time show getting more ratings than any other event in UNITED STATES history. That’s a lot of history.. and a lot of events that mattered much more than a game between two teams that make millions of dollars a second more than you do in a lifetime.

See here in America, we tend to ignore the important things and focus on what does not matter at all..

The sleepless in Seattle ragers most likely watched the game to see their city’s team win.. And they rioted.

Meanwhile, in the Ukraine, people took to the streets to protest what actually mattered. The scenes of fire and flame may be similar, but the issue at hand is much different. Here we get inflamed over the trivial and meaningless.. in other parts of the world, some things are still worth fighting for.

Seattle Seahawks fans celebrate by starting a small fire in the street after their team won the NFL Super Bowl XLVIII in Seattle, Washington February 2, 2014. The Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos 43-8 to win their first NFL championship Sunday in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Here are some images of rage in the streets. People, drunk on their own selfishness and alcohol, pretending that a football victory means something and celebrating it shows manliness.

Glad the season is over..

It was the best of fall, and the worst of fall

The worst part of the fall now begins

Football season is here. I will not speak to whether the art of being drunk on Sundays and watching football itself is an evil that robs the testosterone of men but still make them feel like tough guys, but I will say this: People need to take a break from being armchair pundits on YouTube.
This fad of football fans tweeting or Facebook statusing every play that their ‘team’ makes during a game started a few SuperBowls ago.. and now it’s taking place every Sunday (*Saturdays for college fans*) …most posts are not ‘liked’ or commented on.. but they litter the dashboards of any platform you blog or socially speak on.. It’s gone from fad to bad.. with an over-abundance of people without any football skills whatsoever constantly complaining for three hours about how bad the ref’s calls were or how awful their team is doing. “Gonna be a long season,” one of my Facebook friends just posted after his particular team, the Steelers, didn’t do so hot …

I am all for free expression.. and I believe that opinions should be expressed. And yes Twitter and Facebook makes it easier.. But I am reminded of the not-so-old adage: “Think before you post.” In this case, “Think before you post 25 times per minute on each and every mundane occurrence that happened during the game you’re watching on TEE VEEE…

Chances are you saw this interesting infographic already. But if you didn’t, it’s worth the look. According to information, the highest paid public employee in more than 20 states is … drumroll please: FOOTBALL COACHES.

America the beautiful.

Friday night lights. Where the plight of the educated is drown out by the echo of the crowd…

Penn State Pride.. Happy Valley.. welcome to the new world

Happy Valley couldn’t be sadder today. Penn State University has been hit with unprecedented penalties by the NCAA.

The ‘death penalty’ was not imposed on the football program, but it may as well have been.

The NCAA ordered:

  • No bowl games for four years

  • Scholarships reduced from 25 to 15

  • $60 million fine

  • 14 seasons of football victories from Paterno taken away

The online world.. the cable television world. .the sports world.. the bars of America.. all will be talking about today’s news concerning Penn State. Few will talk about the victims of sex scandals.

We will.

Jerry Sandusky was accused, prosecuted, and convicted of systematically using a charity to get underprivileged kids into his sex ring. He showered with them, and brought them to his house to rape them. The underage boys were also not helped by the University and Joe Paterno after a cover up ensued because top officials wanted to protect the name and reputation of the school… and now, due to their actions for years, the reputation of Penn State and the football program lays in ruins. Yes, this is why these penalties were imposed.

This is why.

And as for tonight's game..

The Green Bay Packers have been predicted to win, some say by 2 and as much as 10 by others. Steelers lose by 10? Either all of the prognosticators are correct or the fix is in.. We will see. Not that football is like pro-wrestling or anything

Texas doesn’t feel right with cold and snow — but the Steelers and the Packers should.

Super Bowl tonight.
Commercials too.
