Nuclear annihilation is just on my mind tonight..
Early this evening I wrote about the new CHERNOBYL DIARIES causing controversy. Moments ago I wrote about the Fukushima nightmare…
You know the Chernobyl core is still melting into the earth? It’s still melting into the earth.
It’s a never ending nightmare.
Eventually they’re going to have to put concrete under the melted core to prevent it from hitting groundwater and creating perhaps a steam explosion
That is pretty frightening to contemplate… don’t you think?
The Fukushima files..
I take news from Fukushima with a grain of salt. Maybe instead I should take news about the nuclear disaster constantly in progress with a capsule of iodine instead, but I’m not quite there yet.
But where I am is constantly freaked by the news coming from there—news that the mainstream media really, arguably, is not reporting. Japan still grapples with the devastation of a post-quake land.. post tsunami.. Always on edge due to continuous jolts from fault lines. The ring of fire is on fire, and has been since March 2011.
Also today, another story floated around the world like earthquake debris: A former Fukushima worker believes that the ‘entire country’ of Japan could be evacuated if No. 4 fuel pool collapses.
Hear that? The entire country.
Oh I’m sorry, you’re busy watching the CHERNOBYL DIARIES trailer.. Get back to that, then…
Words of Murata and this Daiichi worker got immediate attention after translation. Whether anything was lost in translation? I don’t know.. whether it was hyperbole? I don’t know.. Was Murata trying to just get attention of the world on Fukushima? Attention that slipped away steadily since radiation starting pouring out of the reactor and spread across the world.
Oh, and yes, if you’re on a beautiful beach somewhere along the left coast, get ready: The shores will soon be plagued by debris from Japan. It’s already hitting Hawaii and Alaska.
It is a small world after all.
So raise a glass to luck. And hopefully Murata is wrong and our luck will not run out…
This whole Facebook IPO fiasco is just getting more and more strange.. now regulators are set to review Morgan Stanley allegations
Allegations state that Morgan Stanley shared negative news with big investors right before Facebook went public… this news today after only days since Facebook was unveiled on the market—and the stock declined ferociously ever since.
But think of it this way: Facebook is virtual. It’s selling virtual reality. And in reality it’s selling you. So really, what market investor really wants to invest in you anyway?

Is it too soon for a Chernobyl movie?
When CHERNOBYL DIARIES is released, Friends of Chernobyl Centers U.S. will not be in attendance.. The group has blasted the film over the portrayal..
In the movie, six tourists enter the nuclear town to discover horrific zombies and nuclear-drenched people.. Scares ensue. Problem is, Chernobyl is a real life tragedy. A meltdown in 1986 was one of the biggest nuclear disasters in history .. in real life, thousands of people have died and 400,000 had to leave when the incident took place..
The furor over the film began with a report on TMZ with comments from the group that is angry over the movie .. but today, a new report on TMZ gets the producer’s side of the story: Oren Peli said the film was done with respect for the ‘86 disaster and its victims..
Peli told TMZ: “As for the claim that our film exploits anyone — we could not disagree more vigorously. First of all, the criticism and accusations are coming from a group that has not seen the film, whereas conversely the praise for it is coming from those who have indeed seen it” .. More here..
Perhaps Peli will strike gold and FUKUSHIMA DIARIES will be next?
So what are your thoughts, all?

I’d like to think that Truman Burbank ended up liking life outside his show. But after much consideration since 1998, I think maybe he ended up trying to find a way back into the comfortable safety net of predictability and fraud that he was used to. Fourteen years is, after all, quite a long time.
Good morning.
And in case I don’t see you, good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
Other news worthy items you'd rather not know about
But know them.

If the highway won't kill you, the heart disease will
If it’s not one thing it is the other.
Yes, highway deaths are declining because cars are becoming safer.
And men are closing the longevity gap
BUT….
Diabetes and heart disease are increasing among kids in the US of big A..

RED DAWN: CHINA FIRM BUYS AMC TO CREATE WORLD’S LARGEST CINEMA CHAIN
Does it seem like a little bit of Americana is lost today? No shame on the Chinese billionaire who just bought AMC for a cool $2.6 bil, it’s business. But .. something seems awry when the biggest theater company in the United States is based out of another country.. another part of the world.. Yes, indeed. Something vintage is gone.. Something real is out the door. History. AMC .. ABC.. easy as 1 2 3..
