The CERN burn continues..

Scientists at Large Hadron Collider hope to make contact with PARALLEL UNIVERSE in days.. For those who don’t know, the Hadron Collider fired back up a few days ago … so far the world didn’t end or fall into a black hole. But there’s always time for that..

But I was a little intrigued when I found that the Extinction Protocol was reporting a story that scientists with CERN are going to be attempting contact with a parallel universe. You certainly don’t see headlines like that everyday, so my eyes did a triple take. The Extinction Protocol is a decent website that usually links up its information to a valid source.. In this matter, they linked a UK EXPRESS article titled:

So a few things need to be contemplated before running into the world of lunacy.. First off, the UK EXPRESS is a clear tabloid from the land across the pond.. I read it, I enjoy it.. but I take it with a grain of salt. If the DAILY MAIL is the NY POST, the EXPRESS is probably the STAR.. 

Nonetheless, I read Paul Bowman’s article with extreme interest..  I sure don’t really understand what I should about physics but that doesn’t stop me from trying to. 

Ironically, this all travels back in the Internets to the DAILY MAIL, the powerhouse tabloid that gets worldwide attention.  Days ago, that paper reported.

Mir Faizil, a scientist at CERN, gets a lot of the attention in various postings regarding this..

Back to the EXPRESS, Bowman writes,

Mir Faizal, one of the three-strong team of physicists behind the experiment, said: “Just as many parallel sheets of paper, which are two dimensional objects [breadth and length] can exist in a third dimension [height], parallel universes can also exist in higher dimensions.
“We predict that gravity can leak into extra dimensions, and if it does, then miniature black holes can be produced at the LHC.
"Normally, when people think of the multiverse, they think of the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, where every possibility is actualised.
"This cannot be tested and so it is philosophy and not science.
“This is not what we mean by parallel universes. What we mean is real universes in extra dimensions.
“As gravity can flow out of our universe into the extra dimensions, such a model can be tested by the detection of mini black holes at the LHC.
“We have calculated the energy at which we expect to detect these mini black holes in ‘gravity’s rainbow’ [a new scientific theory].
“If we do detect mini black holes at this energy, then we will know that both gravity’s rainbow and extra dimensions are correct.”

Without question, there is some eyebrows raised and even panic.. Some fear that this attempt to tinker and toy with the unwritten laws of existence are dangerous.. Many fear it will shred the vale between the here and there, the now and the then.. I even read one account that this will amplify our lives and give us super abilities and senses beyond the 5 we have, but that we will die quickly since our existence in this reality cannot handle the reality from some alternate universe..

I quite frankly don’t know what will happen.
We certainly trust those who make oodles more in cash than us to have the best interest of humanity in mind when playing in the scientific sandbox. And to me, I would love there to be some confirmation that alternate universes or parallel existences have gone beyond the science fiction realm and are now becoming mainstream enough to continue studying it for proof of their respective existences.

Astronomers Find Supermassive Black Hole 12 Billion Times Size of the Sun

Astronomers say they have have discovered a black hole so big that it challenges the theory about how they grow. 

We are told that this new amazing discovery comes from a supermassive black hole that formed sometime around 900 million years after the big bang. 

While it may seem a strange concept for some to consider, this black hole is not working the way it should. It’s too big ..

NBC NEWS reports,

But with measurements indicating it is 12 billion times the size of the sun, the black hole challenges a widely accepted hypothesis of growth rates. “Based on previous research, this is the largest black hole found for that period of time,” Fuyan Bian, Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Australian National University (ANU), told Reuters on Wednesday. “Current theory is for a limit to how fast a black hole can grow, but this black hole is too large for that theory.” The discovery was described in a study published Wednesday in Nature.

Is this a black hole so massive that it could actually pre-date the currently accepted time frame of the beginning of everything?

Does this throw everything ever taught out the window?

Does anyone else even somewhat comprehend any of what this could mean?

Space is amazing. Science is too.
But when it comes to the perplexing concept of black holes, I have trouble understanding. Glad I’m not paid to try..

CNN’s Don Lemon has been entertaining all sorts of theories about the missing Malaysian Airlines Flight 370, including the chance something supernatural happened, but on Wednesday night, he actually asked panelists about the possibility a black hole was involved.

People are laughing at CNN for wondering on air if a black hole could have swallowed up Flight 370.. but don’t even try to tell me you weren’t at least entertaining the thought for a few seconds yourself!

More on that theory that you're a projected simulation, not one that is real

There has been a popular thought lately among folks with astute degrees and high intelligence: The theory that we are not real, that life is just a projection, that humans and the race we have lived and are living is just a big quantum experiment. Or as Nancy Evans Bush said on Coast to Coast AM last week, we are a joke..

The newest example of this thought process comes from the NEW SCIENTIST, which places on its cover and talks in great detail in its issue, about what exactly reality is. The publication is also devoting a special section to that question on their website as well..  And it’s a great question. Think of the implication, the deep rooted potential, and the mighty ability to chaos that comes with the answer…

To me, reality is my own. I know my reality, I know my family, friends.. I know my job.. I know my hobbies, my fears, and my hopes. I don’t really know yours. And you don’t know mine. So reality, in a sense, is specific to the person having that reality. Do we share one ultimate reality? Maybe. Although atheists may say no, as will Christians, as will Muslims, and as will Mormons—along with any other religion, sect, tribe, or tribulation. Reality will be specific to them. And to someone who hallucinates on regular basis, well, it’s safe to assume few will ever be able to get a grip on their reality.

But what if we are nothing? What if we are a bit of bytes and coding in some quantum computer, somewhere out there..? Somewhere here? What if we are fake. Just projections. Just manifestations of software permitted to just ‘run with it’?  It may be difficult to imagine, but some are imagining just that: The very real potentialreality as we know it is just a computer simulation.

According to this dispatch in Kurzweil profiling the NEW SCIENTIST article, the notion that we could be computer simulations arose from black holes. Here is how they wrote it:

This bizarre idea arose from an argument over black holes. One of the fundamental tenets of physics is that information cannot be destroyed, but a black hole appears to violate this by swallowing things that contain information then gradually evaporating away. What happens to that information was the subject of a long debate between Stephen Hawking and several of his peers. In the end, Hawking lost the debate, conceding that the information is imprinted on the event horizon that defines the black hole’s boundary and escapes as the black hole evaporates.

This led theoretical physicists Leonard Susskind and Gerard’t Hooft to propose that the entire universe could also hold information at its boundary — with the consequence that our reality could be the projection of that information into the space within the boundary.

There are huge implications if you go down this road. If you strip humans of the flesh and bones we think we have, take away those memories and chalk them up to simulated experiences, and just say it’s all not real but a figment of some programmer, well.. that is massive. Are we just mindless bits and bytes living out some creepy SIM CITY type of game? How does the game end? Who started the game? …and if someone did truly start it, could consider that being or beings to be “God” ?? 

What role would free will play in a simulation? Would our SIMS and avatars be permitted to even possess such a gift?

And finally, if we are just flowing through some binary processor, what can one make of love and hate? What can you say about tears? 

Think of it this way: If tomorrow irrefutable evidence turned up that we truly were not real but instead a part of a quantum program, many people on this planet (which would not really be a planet in reality) would cry. They would have real wet watery tears flowing. Or would they? Permits the programmer would allow those tears to flow. And if he clicked to stop them… we’d just vanish with the program. 

For those who believe that we are in this world of fraud, I certainly hope the programmer or the god doesn’t accidentally walk by his desk and unplug the computer by accident. 

Finally, I say this: We make fake world, we grow fake plants in Farmville (does anyone play that still?) and we have pretend avatars. What if those avatars come alive, have feelings, and think they are real too. We suddenly become God. To them. But who would be God to us? The one who made us..whether it’s flesh and bones or endless 0s and 1s of data. 

Fascinating questions. Profound answers.
