Timing is always interesting..

Here’s an interesting executive order just signed by Obama..

'apprehension, detention, or conditional release of individuals to prevent the introduction, transmission, or spread of suspected communicable diseases.”'

Looks like Art Bell agrees with my premise on how Ebola could become a weapon and threat to the United States ..

Ebola question

I really thought long and hard about the fact we are bringing to grave conditioned Ebola patients to the United States. I have a question for anyone out there with any knowledge of this, as I cannot find anything through my searchings..

How is a body treated after death, if that person died of the disease? I know the bodily fluids and blood are the chief way that Ebola is transmitted, so how is a body cared for postmortem? Even more, how was the body prepared safely for a viewing or funeral?

NHS doctor tells of his hell on Ebola ward

This is a sad story coupled with freakish and chilling..

Anyone who follows me or has read this website for any amount of time will know well that when I get worried about something, there’s a tendancy on my part to overkill the issue.. Ebola has been the latest bit of news getting me to tighten my tin foil hat..

The prospects of EBOLA being present in the United States—on purpose—gave me chills.. Yes, it’s Americans who obviously have the right to be in America, and we’re told the chamber fortress where the treatment in Atlanta will take place is safer than any place on earth.. but.. don’t you still get a bit of a chill hearing that Ebola is purposely being brought to the United States? That a hospital will treat patients here? Maybe I am too ‘American’ in my thought—-but to those who think I don’t care about Africans suffering the affliction, you’re wrong. I have been paranoid about this for years and have constantly worried about it, and reported about it… The latest outbreak is the worst ever seen.. Hopefully it burns itself out.. gets under control…

Let’s hope Captain Trips will not exist.

And yes, the man who discovered the virus says that he would sit next to someone on a train if they were infected with it.

But would you?
Would I?

There is chaos constantly on the planet earth.. It reminds me more than a bit like the opening scenes of the STAND, or opening paragraphs depending on how you discovered it..

EBOLA is coming to our shores.. it’s real, it’s on purpose.

Let’s hope and pray that all of those rational people saying there’s nothing to see here are right.

But .. until then..

Baby..can you dig your man!?

Maybe it could happen again…

In light of EBOLA on a plane with the destination Atlanta, here’s a blast from the past suggestion for some summer reading..

As Atlanta gets ready to greet Ebola, intrigue persists over 'serum'

CNN ASKS:

With word of the experimental serum, there were more questions than answers: What is it? Why was there only one dose? And why was it only made available to the American charity workers?

Another must read from Caleb Wilde: A mother writes an obituary for her son who committed suicide

There were two portions that will stick with me.. they are amazingly poignant:

Love and tolerance is the way – the antithesis of teenage culture. As adults, we preach love and tolerance at school, then fail to lead by example. In business, in sports, in entertainment, in personal relationships and in the media … how often do adults place people before profit, a helping hand before blame, caring ahead of winning, others ahead of self?

and

Kids drink this way because they need to escape their own false personalities. They strive to be the best, to be cool, to be popular and successful. Underneath, it’s all about the same old human needs: to feel valued, to feel important and special, to belong, to be loved.

Lectures and platitudes to the young will never change their society. We must all be the agents of change. Our society, as it gets bigger and more global, must evolve just as our species has evolved. Each of us, at work in the office, at home, in the post office, at the grocery store and in the government, must honor and value each person we encounter. How would your day be if, instead of trying to be right, you were trying to help?

The magic touch

Around 2am my wife woke me to tell me the toilet wouldn’t flush.. as any man (who could always go outside if he wanted) would do, I fell back to sleep and somehow convinced myself that it was a part of a strange dream.

This morning it was real. The toilet was clogged… I tried everything. I made it look, a lot, like I knew what I was doing. In reality, besides the basics, I know very little about plumbing. I assume my fluids and remains will go down the hole in the bathroom without incident. Normally it does..

SO I plunged and plunged and plunged. My arms were sore.. I tried to flush… and hush.. and NO GO. No flow. The toilet was jammed, I felt damned.

So I left the bathroom to regroup.. and I was tinkering with the idea of Googling or YouTubing strange toilet problems so see how mine fit in.. perhaps I’d find an answer. Maybe I’d even go back to the past and Ask Jeeves!

At that moment, I heard the toilet suck down the remaining water and push it through the pipes.. I ran in. What happened!? I saw my wife with the plunger in her hand, looking at me and saying simply, “I plunged it, didn’t you even try that?”

I did try!
I did plunge!
I felt like one of the Mario Brothers!

But I did not have the magic touch ..or even the magic flush. And regardless of the use of force, sometimes it takes a special maneuver to make the water flow again. Sometimes, I suppose, it takes a woman’s touch.

That or .. my ferocious plumbing did the work and on last gentle push was all it needed.

Hell, I need some find some manly way out, right?

A creepy scene in China.. A river has mysteriously turned blood red.  While some may scream ‘end of the world’ at the sight of the bloody river, let’s also note: There is a strange smell reportedly wafting through the air as well, hinting to me that something extremely dangerous has entered the water.. Pollution? Chemicals? Or just food coloring?

This from ABC NEWS:

“We suspect that somebody dumped artificial coloring in the water because he thought the typhoon yesterday would cause heavy rain, and nobody would notice [the color],” Jianfeng Xiao, Chief of the bureau told China News.

“It turned out there wasn’t heavy rainfall yesterday, so the evidence is left behind,” Xiao said.

Xiao said there is a paper manufacturer, a food coloring company and clothing-maker a long the river. The bureau is still investigating the incident.

Either way, now’s the perfect time to film a horror movie scene if you’re in the Zhejiang province..
