10,000 US troops will be remaining in Afghanistan through the end of this year, clearly no drawdown will take place as earlier promised

President Obama said this is not a return to combat..
He also said that he will bring troops home by the end of 2016..

The troops were slated to leave Afghanistan very soon, but now that Afghan president asked for troops to stay longer, the United States has agreed.. 

The war goes on. We just stopped it war.

Over 2,100 dead in Afghan landslide

This is tragic.. The death toll from this landslide is still climbing higher.. I last knew it to be over 300 .. today it steamed upwards in dramatic numbers to 2,100 *as of now* ..

But the other number that is noteworthy besides the rising death toll: Over 4,000 are now homeless.

This story is the second ‘landslide’ story making headlines this week. In the city of Baltimore, a landslide took out an entire street along with very expensive cars. But in the scheme of things, that seems to be child’s play compared to 2000+ people perishing from the natural disaster.. 

Numbers set to increase .. an obvious story still developing.

This is troubling.. Very troubling. It makes the Koran burning look tame. A soldier, maybe drunk according to some reports, and mentally breaking down according to others, goes on a house-to-house rampage. Killing innocent children and men and women in combat happens.. but people sleeping? People living their meager lives? And they succumb to death due to ..what? I guess we will find out the story in more detail. But until then I may have had enough detail for my own good..
