Megyn Kelly, Sean Hannity Hit New Ratings Highs With Crisis Coverage

Coverage of both the Malaysia Airlines downed over Ukraine and unrest in the Gaza region helped two Fox News Channel programs reach new total-audience highs, according to data from Nielsen

Kelly is easy on the eyes. Hannity is not. Depending on your political beliefs, their voices are either that of angels or fingernails dragging on chalk boards. Regardless of it all: They won big. 

I think one guy and my neighbor watched MSNBC’s coverage.

Breaking schmreaking..

Chuck Todd seems pretty hot under his political collar at CNN for labeling too much non news ‘breaking news’..

I’m with him on this one—CNN overdoes it. But so does FOX NEWS, perhaps even more. They overdo their loud DINGGGGGGGG echo noise each time they begin a new hour.. they say “HAPPENING NOW!” as though the world is ending.

But it never does. Instead all of the networks simply rehash the same news over and over again, calling it ‘breaking’….

The only thing I can say about NBC is this: They could be guilty of it too.. lest we forget they interrupted a Congresswoman to go live to Justin Bieber’s arraignment.. Chuck Todd may have forgotten ..

But really..

The only time I know that ‘breaking news’ is REALLY BREAKING NEWS is when NBC sends off their chimes of death. THAT is when the world does end..

I love Scranton, PA, but now for the news it's making

but the city of Scranton is in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. The Electric City has lots of great things to brag about but the headlines today is all about the Mayor cutting city workers’ pay to minimum wage because of how broke it is, and how property taxes are about to skyrocket to abnormally high proportions. 

Local news stations WNEP and WBRE have been covering ferociously since it occurred, and now national news orgs are picking up the story.

According to Mayor Chris Doherty, there is only about $5,000 left is the city’s bank account after payroll..

Doherty, according to this FOX NEWS report, did not respond to calls from FOX NEWS..

Anyone else frustrated!!? What a waste of time.. CNN, FOX NEWS, MSNBC.. all those hours a day and nothing to show for it.

A revolution in Egypt.. And more. Tunisia.. Now IRAN! …the Patriot Act passes tonight.. there are tremors at Mount St Helens.. there is a massive solar flare aimed right at earth.

And what do our noise networks give us?

Truly a shame. Such a grand amount of time devoted to mindless drivel.. So many minutes of the day wasted on news that doesn’t matter but just “stuff” like gossip, celebrity, and noise that poses as news.

As Dan Quayle said once, “What a waste it is to lose one’s mind or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is.”

Perhaps Dan was a prophet.

CBSNEWS Lara Logan, Crew Detained…
FOXNEWS reporter, cameraman beaten, hospitalized…

These nets, along with many others, facing threats in Egypt.. Things are seemingly escalating beyond control on the streets of rage.
