Live coverage of a worsening situation in Egypt as violence escalates

…even Anderson Cooper felt it, being punched in the head 10 times by what reports are describing as ‘Mubarak supporters’

Potentially catastrophic wind, rain and storm tide have overspread the Queensland coast Wednesday.. It’s a Cat 5 Cyclone named Yasi. And it’s a threat to life and property in Australia..

Snow possible to within 50 miles of gulf coast tom night.. not only around Houston, but into Lower Rio Grande Valley!

Yasi has "unprecedented ferocity"

Australian report on Yasi reads like this:

Cyclone Yasi is building as a storm of unprecedented ferocity - the likes of which hasn’t been seen since 1918.

Yasi is on track to make landfall between Innisfail and Cardwell about 10pm (AEST) on Wednesday, with authorities confident they have the site within a 30km range of accuracy

Be safe no matter your location or temperature.

Want to know how big Cyclone Yasi is? It is as large as the entire Continental United States, the entire nation of Britain, and all of Japan, the Koreas, and part of China together

Do you like throwing weather out of proportion? -bill

Thanks for the feedback.. And my official “follower” Freddy gif thanks you too.

"Great" question "bill" .. I don’t know what exactly you mean "throwing"
the weather out of proportion? Perhaps you meant “blowing” it out of proportion. And no, I don’t. I really don’t like it at all.. but “bill,” when you have a massive Cyclone named Yasi that is about to strike and cause human life to be lost, and when you have a storm taking up a vast portion of a continent with snow and ice, I think that is very important and meaningful. And really, it is going to affect a lot of people. 100 million here.. And while I’m not quite sure how many in Australia, I’d venture to say quite a few.

And Bill, they care. I care that my power may go out with ice.. Chicaco cares since they are crippled due to a massive blizzard.. people that have to take shelter at the Red Cross care.. And Bill, I trust you’re somewhere warm, perhaps a beach or a desert, and maybe you have a nice clear sky above your safe home, tucked away in no man’s land. But guess what, Bill, a lot of other people don’t. And since they don’t, the news becomes important.

Hence: The links, the photos, the stories. And so long as I have this little Tumblelog on the net, I will put forward what I feel is important. Even if people think I ‘throw’ it out of proportion…

Sorry Phil. Expect ice.
