Meanwhile in Pennsylvania...

Flood waters are receding, leaving a massive mess of mud and grime behind. Cleanup begins.
Cleanup in Columbia County
Water is Receding in Schuylkill County
Evacuation Order Lifted for Some Luzerne Co. Residents
Harrisburg and Midstate residents start to rebuild homes, lives after flooding
But just as the cleanup beings, this still occurring: Dozens more families on the west end of town had to be evacuated overnight Friday due to an ammonia leak at Windsor Foods that began wafting over homes

Amazing.. this is a house floating down Susquehanna River & crashing into the Tunkhannock Bridge

River debacle in Luzerne County

…..the river crested higher last night than what officials said it did last night.. feet higher. This is an amazing development and it’s putting lots of pressure on the levees that some didn’t think would occur. .Governor Tom Corbett just landed in Forty Fort.. The dangerous part now: The levees are holding water back that was never expected. So officials are watching them everywhere……. Some people are beginning to return to areas that, if the levee DOESN’T hold, will be flooded. People need to stay out of the mandatory evacuation area in Wilkes Barre and surrounding communities.. This is now history: The level is higher than Agnes in 1972.

West side officials: flooding worse than Agnes

All history of flooding in his area has been compared with Agnes… it was the storm of the age. This new, Lee fellow, came and swept history aside and gave even more devastation than Agnes could.. truly unbelievable developments continue today as streams that flow into the mighty Susquehanna are now backing up, too… unbelievable..

This is the site of the upcoming (hopefully) Bloomsburg Fair. Vendors were set to begin setting up this weekend.. no official word coming on the September 24 start date…..

Flood water are leading to very desperate situations in Pennsylvania

25% of Bloomsburg is flooded— this is some of the worst flooding since 1904.. parts of Nanticoke are so inundated with water that entire buildings are covered.. Streams that drain into Susquehanna River are backing up and now endangering neighborhoods that weren’t in danger of flooding.. There are houses floating down rivers and being destroyed as they cannot make under bridges..City Island in Harrisburg is covered.. Front Street in Harrisburg is flooded..Shipoke flooded.

The flooding continues to not be a joke..

Yes, the water is beginning to recede.. and yes, Wilkes Barre didn’t get destroyed.. and yes, Harrisburg will recover. But NO it’s still not 100% safe.. case in point: the sad story this morning that now, among the casualty from Lee, an 8-year-old boy dead after getting caught in a storm drain.. Sad story, among the other persons that lost their life, too.

The flooding continues to not be a joke..

Yet another photographic way of showing the damage left by Lee in Pennsylvania..

The car didn’t even see it coming..
