MCKEESPORT, Pa. — Two adults have been found dead of suspected drug overdoses after their 7-year-old daughter told school officials in Pennsylvania she couldn’t wake them up.
The Allegheny County medical examiner says the bodies of 26-year-old Christopher Dilly and 25-year-old Jessica Lally were found Monday evening in their McKeesport apartment.
Authorities say a 9-month-old girl, 3-year-old boy and 5-year-old boy who were inside the home were taken to a hospital to be evaluated.
It struck Haiti as a Cat 4… it was briefly a category 5.. there is a chance that when it dances with the East Coast of the United States it will still be a strong 3 .. I fear the ocean waters are warm enough that–if the eyewall stays off shore–it could even tick back to a category 4 or stronger..

It would be the first major evacuation since Hurricane Floyd in 1999, when the governor at the time didn’t reverse the lanes and Interstate 26 became a parking lot. A typically two-hour drive from Charleston to Columbia turned into a 24-hour nightmare…

Gridlock is massive in South Carolina .. North Carolina tourists have been sent home .. Florida is worried about a direct hit .. And forecasters are warning that their models may not be precise and longer range outlooks could change..
All up on the air. Including a massive and deadline hurricane that undoubtedly just destroyed structures and lives in Haiti and the Bahamas ..
And while I didn’t watch it, the common denominator I’m hearing from friends and pundits was that Kaine seemed edgy and weird and the entire spectacle became unwatchable quickly ..

Scientists were left puzzled about why the three satellites launched by the European Space Agency have regularly lost their navigation signal when passing over the equator above the Atlantic Ocean.
Now they believe they may have uncovered the underlying cause of the strange loss in the GPS signal that helps control the satellites – thunderstorms high in the ionosphere.
A number of clown related social media posts were displayed this past weekend regarding threats towards school districts in Pennsylvania and throughout the country. Some threats stated that a clown would arrive at the school and “shoot all students and teachers,” while another threat stated they “weren’t clowning around.” Most of the social media posts were attributed to a “clown joke,” possibly linked to numerous clown sightings throughout the nation and the world.
These sightings have not been validated and there are no known threats to schools in Pennsylvania. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to their closest police department. Over the last few months, “creepy clowns” have been reported throughout the United States and the world. The media has reported incidents where clowns have stood on the street not moving or speaking, to incidents where creepy clowns attempted to lure children into wooded areas. These sightings have occurred in Wisconsin, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, Colorado, Oregon, and Texas.

This is a monster .. It struck Haiti dead on.. The disaster is slowly churning with 145 mile per hour winds.. The east coast of the United States could be in the crosshairs..

It is not a shock poll to me.. I have actually seen friendships changed this year with this election – people who were cordial and friendly have gone into a friendship hibernation. Hopefully after the November election (when presumably SOMEONE wins?) will this all will subside.. and friendships will blossom again. Unless the election itself becomes even more divisive by then. And maybe if a repeat of 2000 happens–My God just imagine that ..

This is the latest model ensemble for Hurricane Matthew.. the storm is already getting wild .. it is a major threat to life and limb. Haiti may get localized 40 inches of rain, with an average of 15-25.. Other areas in the region are bracing for what could be one of the deadliest storms in history..
And from there? A threat to the United States.. Just as the US is bracing for an election, it may have its attention quickly turned by the force of nature to Matthew.. people should pray to Matthew Mark Luke and John for a reprieve from the hell that this may unleash along the east coast of the United States..
I read with great interest a ROLLING STONE article about All of these clown sightings taking place throughout the United States, especially the Eastern seaboard states… Great interest because for two reasons: 1) I have been blogging about this clown phenomenon for years now, it occurs every autumn and starts in the late days of August. Just as it did this year. And 2) Because it mentioned my home state, and towns near me.. Pretty exciting to see the little city of ‘Pottsville,’ the home of Yuengling brewery..

Pennsylvania, too, is rife with creepy clown reports. In Pottsville, there were reports of two people wearing “clown-like clothes,” driving around in a pickup truck scaring teens and children. In Ebensburg, a woman caught a peeping-Tom clown peering through her window. Most recently, York College sent a safety alert out to the campus – a reaction deemed necessary after receiving eight different clown reports since September 24th. More sightings have been reported in Virginia, Ohio, Wisconsin and, most recently, New York State.
I was at a party this weekend.. The small town clown phenom was the talk of the event! People claiming they saw clowns outside their windows…in parks…in parking lots… Under street lights. The trouble in.. There is no proof of these clown sightings. And really, this year, with all the hubbub about small town clowns, very few have been proven. It is mostly an urban legend tale of kids on school buses passing along frightful information of clowns with knives..
Speaking of clowns with knives, there was another story of clowns this weekend.. According to reports in Florida, a young girl claims men in clowns masks and a knife scaled the fence of the house and scared her.. No proof of it and no other witnesses as well..
There is a fear deep within out soul of clowns. The makeup and style is similar to that of a dying patient of the plague.. The clown mocks death. There have been countless pop culture references to clowns in horror. The Joker has been one of the most known fictional criminals in all of entertainment history.. And Stephen King’s Pennywise the dancing clown was so frightening that it has had an enduring legacy since the made for TV movie debuted in the early 1990s–so much so that now the film is being remade into a whole new scary clown film!
Clowns abound. But there’s really no proof they even exist.
That is what the ROLLING STONE article sets to show.. There have been no photographs besides a few … And despite police warnings of crackdowns on clowns, only a few have been apprehended and arrested.
A lot of this is cyclical. I recall last year and the year before, clowns showing up on porches and smashing pumpkins around Halloween. I recall bad clowns in France rioting.. And as the STONE article reports, this clown situation has dated back to at least the Reagan era:

And with that… The clown crisis will continue. I have no doubts that more will be reported before Samhain… And with each passing day, we will be one day closer to the darkness of winter…when the clown makeup comes off.. And the real scary time of year begins.

In war, propaganda seems inevitable .. But it also makes me constantly pause and question the photos, videos, and stories coming from deep in the Middle East.. Forgive me for what may be considered a sin in the pop culture world of online rage 24/7, but when when the Aleppo boy’s image was broadcast around the world, I paused and felt uneasy about it all.. Wondering if some propaganda force behind the scenes is portraying this young boy’s image for their own social control in the Syrian civil war – one that was potentially influenced by the CIA and other worldly groups anyway..
The purpose of such was to see who watched them, we are told. That sound quaint.. Make a fake video of mass genocide, a beheading, or some other horror and see who downloaded and shared..
Isn’t it also a potential victory if Western societies begin to share those same videos, too? Believe them?
Audio from years ago was released this weekend of John Kerry lamenting that he lost the battle for President Obama’s ear and that the United States did not send forces into the Syrian war. Others are grateful he lost.. The ‘red line’ speech the President gave in an address to the nation so many years ago fell flat with critics and even friends.. And a civil war in Syria raged since. It is a very difficult story and one that has about as many facets as can be imagined..
….but could you imagine, during a run up to war, faked videos being used to find the enemy .. And perhaps rattle the friends into action?

Secretary of State John Kerry’s frustration with the failure of American diplomacy was on display as he defended US efforts to help end the five-year civil war in Syria during a meeting last week with a group of Syrian civilians, according to an audio recording obtained by CNN.
But Kerry also expressed sympathy for the Syrians’ demands that the United States intervene more forcefully amid Syrian and Russian airstrikes against civilians, telling the group that he “lost the argument” for using military force against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Kerry’s comments came at a meeting that took place at the Dutch Mission to the United Nations on the sidelines the UN General Assembly, where Kerry was going from session to session in a frenzied effort to resuscitate a ceasefire that seemed poised to collapse.

Russia warned the United States Saturday against carrying out any attacks on Syrian government forces, saying it would have repercussions across the Middle East as government forces captured a hill on the edge of the northern city of Aleppo under the cover of airstrikes.
Russian news agencies quoted Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova as saying that a U.S. intervention against the Syrian army “will lead to terrible, tectonic consequences not only on the territory of this country but also in the region on the whole.”
She said regime change in Syria would create a vacuum that would be “quickly filled” by “terrorists of all stripes.”

Jamaicans were bracing on Saturday for the arrival of Hurricane Matthew, as it approached that island as well as Haiti and Cuba, bringing winds reaching 140 miles per hour (220 kph), powerful enough to wreck homes.
Matthew, the strongest hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean since Felix in 2007, was forecast to make landfall as a major storm on Monday on Jamaica’s southern coast, home to the country’s capital, Kingston, and its only oil refinery. It could also affect tourist destinations such as Montego Bay in the north.
With Matthew about 400 miles (645 km) southeast of Kingston, the U.S. National Hurricane Center ranked it at Category 4 of the five-step Saffir-Simpson scale of hurricane intensity. Earlier it had been ranked at the top Category 5.
I have a hunch it will get back to a Cat 5 again.. Either way, categories aside, this is going to be potent and deadly..
The latest spaghetti plot for Hurricane Matthew.. the storm system seems to now be converging into one possible track.. From Cuba and Haiti, storming by Florida, and then up the East Coast..

Last night, I took some time to connect with readers on Tumblr who have followed me since the beginning of this little invention called Coal Speaker .. (Thanks to those of you around for 6 plus years) .. I lamented the fact that so often I vanish from here for days only to return again with a fervor.. There are moments in life when I come to need mind clearing events.. Whether it’s a long walk in the woods or even a long kneeling in an empty Cathedral in the city I work in during noon devotions. Whatever floats a boat .. Whatever gets to the point of connecting with a higher realm, if that is at all possible…
As things change, I realize I often don’t. As I age, I still seem to think that ten years ago was yesterday and that dial up wasn’t so long ago–neglecting to realize that so many now getting into the work world never knew what dial up was! Never knew with an AOL chat room was! Never heard of Geocities.. Yes indeed so much has changed..
And so much on this website has changed as well.
When I go back and look at some archived material, I realize how immature I was at times.. I realize how I have grown over time (but yet have so much more to go ) …

I know this may not be the popular opinion.. But I really don’t think much changed last night. I think those who liked Hillary Clinton will like her more.. This who like Donald Trump will do the same..
In my humble thought, if you only watched the first half hour of the rumble in Long Island, you’d walk away thinking that Trump soared–Hillary did not seemed prepared for the kinder and gentler Donald, despite his sniffling.. If you watched the last half, you’d think that Hillary cleaned Donald’s clock. The middle hour was a murky tale of nasty one liners and lipstick on teeth..
The debate to end all debates actually was not as good as some may have hoped it would be. Camp Clinton is claiming the crown and the media is piling on with articles about the best quips back to Trump and Howard Dean publicly pondering if the Republican candidates snorted crack before the debate.. But the conservative media is piling on the same..
The partisan divide is only more evident. After the debate, a Drudge poll had Trump leading 90% to Hillary’s 10%.. I thought how ridiculous. When I saw the CNN poll showing about 70% thought Hillary won I thought it was equally ridiculous..
Everyone is playing to their own crowd. There is no unbiased reporting anymore, and when there is it’s comes with low ratings and little to no concern from the public.
Instead we picked our corners already. The only thing left to do now is cheer on the candidate we most want to see bloody the other.
This may be the most partisan election since 2000 … And God help us if a repeat of disputed chads happens this year.
Not the sort of attention that the Bloomsburg fair needed.. nonetheless, the world now knows.. There were NAZI flags being sold at the annual event.. The vendor not only was selling Nazi flags, but was removed from the grounds for being a REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER..
And as far as offense? He told WBRE that he did not care if people were offended. It was his right to sell them, he said.. Along with that, he mentioned he was at the fair for 45 years now..
Arnold Palmer died on Sunday. The golf legend passed away at the age of 87 near Pittsburgh. He was a legend… squeaky clean, famous, admired, even had a drink named after him. In the latter half of the 20th century, the Republican party even courted him to run for national office. He never did.
Another death occurred this weekend of a sports star–and it was certainly more shocking than an elderly golfer.. Florida Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez died in a very tragic boating incident.. The irony is there. Fernandez fled Cuba almost a decade ago on a speed boat.. He died Sunday off of South Beach in a violent boat crash at the age of 24.. Two others were killed in the accident…
There are really no similarites between Palmer and Fernandez, with the exception of sports and fame.. they both played what they loved and were monumentally good at it. Both were known far and wide..
The major difference: Palmer lived a full life while Fernandez died in the beginning part of his prime. The riches and glory and fame and fortune, for both, didn’t matter in the end.. for both, the angel of death circled the wagon and struck.. For both, we lost legends and are reminded that sooner or later God’s gonna cut you down..
The late Johnny Cash performed a good rendition of that God’s gonna cut you down song.. but in moments of majorly famous people dying, I get more reminded of his version of HURT by NIN.. Cash’s video of the song is poignant and haunting–there are scenes where his earthly treasures are highlighted in his mansion.. all the while he sings the words ‘And you could have it all, my empire of dirt.’
We don’t have much time on this planet. For Palmer, he led a good life and make his mark. For Fernandez, his youthful vigor was evident but now, in death, painful.
Make haste.. No waste.. Time is ending fast. And you’ll one get get your taste, of moments that will be your last.

A friend first alerted to me about this here on Tumblr.. she is also from the area and noticed it was making the viral social rounds in the coal region on Facebook and Twitter.
The image was taken by someone who visited the fair and was moved enough to publish her photo of the Nazi flag (next to the make America great again Trump banner) on the truck.. The vendor is selling items that include derogotive bumper stickers and other apparrel of controversial appeal..
I have been attending the fair since childhood .. I have great memories. Yes, there are places that you’d conclude it’s Pennsyltucky. But this flag being showcased at the fair goes well beyond accepted social norms of the area..
I would hope now that the original Facebook posting with the picture has been shared thousands of times online, someone from the management of the local week long fair will get with this vendor and act accordingly..
One other aspect of this year’s fair that floored me a bit: The political nature of it all! Yes, the Bloomsburg fair has always been a home for Republicans and Democrats from the local area selling banners and yard signs. Presidential elections have been intense. But this year? I don’t think I recall a political year like this since after 9/11 .. There are gigantic–and I mean GIGANTIC–cutouts of Donald Trump (one was a 20 or so foot replica of him advertising a donut stand)… Cardboard cutouts of Hillary and Donald.. political shirts being sold on every corner.. and people wearing Alex Jones’ INFOWARS Hillary for prison shirts just about in every portion of the fair …
2016 is a political year. But I would certainly say that politics and controversy aside, a Nazi flag at an American county fair is beyond tasteless and out of place.
There will be 100 million Americans (and more people around the globe) who watch the Monday night debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.. It will be a record audience and shatter any previous for a political event.
This will be history in the making .. 90 minutes without a break. Without a commercial…
Debate parties will be taking place across the nation .. I bet money that even bar rooms will be fixated for a bit on the debate, perhaps developing drinking games while watching..
And the result? Maybe a decision
I predict that most people watching will make an immediate decision of who they want to vote for within the first 15 minutes of the televised debate.. and I also think people will determine the candidate of their choice Monday as opposed to any other of the 40 or so days before the November election..

A day after five people were shot dead in a Burlington, Wash., mall, authorities arrested a man they say was behind the rampage.
The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Arcan Cetin of Oak Harbor, Wash., was taken into custody around 7 p.m. PT Saturday in Oak Harbor, roughly 29 miles southwest of Burlington.
Lt. Mike Hawley, Island County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies spotted the car near their office in Oak Harbor Saturday night, but no one was inside.
“I saw an individual walking northbound on the sidewalk and I instantly recognized that this is the person that I just viewed on my computer,” Hawley said.
“He said nothing,” Hawley added. “He was kind of zombie-like.”
This was reported on Drudge yesterday .. the debate coming Monday is set to be epic. Must see TV … And 90 minutes commercial free!? Break free!? I don’t think 90% of the 100 million people watching the debate could go that long without a couch break to bathroom trip. We will see how two candidates near or exceeding the age of 70 will deal with this..
Reports of creepy clowns first emerged in Greenville, South Carolina, where a red-nosed creepo was reportedly trying to lure kids to a house in the woods by flashing wads of cash. Police looked into the claims and found nothing.
In Alabama, schools across the state ramped up security after reports emerged on social media that clowns were going to attack local high schools with guns. In Ohio, a sheriff’s office is looking for two clowns and advising citizens to contact the department because “we are unsure what their intentions are at this point.” And in Florida, a state where you might think clowns would be among the most normal roadside sightings, police keep getting calls about clowns but are having a hell of time finding them.
I have written before that a clown under a street light at midnight holding a balloon could very well be one of the most frightening images one’s mind can endure.. But are these sightings really sightings?
I have come to a conclusion that some of these local sightings are just psychosis.. I don’t think people are seeing nearly as many clowns as they 1) report they are and 2) think they are..
The whole fad is also being driven by the media–a media that decides to use stock images of ghoulish clowns or Pennywise from IT in their news articles..
This past week, the Frackville police here in my local area thought it would be wise to post an image of clowns with a report that they are in the neighborhood.. the story took off like a rocket, to the point where kids on school buses were scaring little kids about deadly clowns behind woods. It is the stuff urban legends are made of.. or even local yokel legends.. Nonetheless, I have it from a good source that some of the local police departments professing word of clown sightings are now regretting their early decisions. Almost annoyed with the number of sightings that are being reported through social media..
Last night, under the Friday night lights of coal region football, the plays on the field were the second topic. Up first: Who is dressing up like clowns and terrorizing a region. I bet that topic was also being discussed around America from coast to coast.. and beyond to the rest of the planet where the phenomenon is popping up.
My prediction stands: We will face a clown deluge from now until Halloween night. When it gets cold, the masks were come off and attention will be turned to the next fad. But until then clowns will abound.

A man carrying a rifle entered a Macy’s store at a mall in Washington state, shot dead four women and a man, and vanished into the night, police said.
Authorities believe only one person fired the shots Friday night at Cascade Mall in Burlington, about an hour north of Seattle. A search is underway for an armed man who headed toward Interstate 5 after the attack, said Sgt. Mark Francis, a spokesman for the Washington State Patrol. Francis released a blurry surveillance photo of a man described as the suspect. His motive or relationship to the victims, if any, are unclear, he said. An employee at a restaurant near a deadly mall shooting in Washington state said they “immediately locked the doors” when they heard of the mayhem Friday night. Stephanie Bose, an assistant general manager at Johnny Carino’s Italian restaurant near Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington, told The Associated Press the shooting happened inside the Macy’s department store. Her restaurant is just outside the Macy’s.
People fled, customers hid in dressing rooms and employees locked the doors of nearby stores after gunshots rang out just after 7 p.m. Friday at the Cascade Mall. A helicopter, search teams and K-9 units scoured the area for a rifle-carrying man.
“We are still actively looking for the shooter,” Washington State Patrol spokesman Sgt. Mark Francis said at a news conference. “Stay indoors, stay secure.”

All of this feels creepy reading.. and a little too much for public consumption. I feel almost guilty about even re-publishing some of the content that is in the once private text messages.

The company spearheading the effort, VoteCastr, plans real-time projections of presidential and Senate races in Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. It plans to publish a map and tables of its projected results on Slate, the online newsmagazine.
The company will make its projections by looking at who is actually turning out to vote, and then processing that data through a method known as predictive turnout modeling. The process is similar to how presidential campaign war rooms operate on Election Day, when they track turnout by likely supporters so they can adjust get-out-the-vote efforts accordingly.
“It’s what campaigns do,” said Ken Smukler, the founder of VoteCastr. “We’re flipping up the kimono and letting people see what campaigns do on Election Day.”

Others are calling it extra suspicious .. and even if this amounts to much ado about nothing, the surreal video of Hillary Clinton shaking uncontrollably before her knees buckle under her will not sooth those who have worried about the candidate’s health for months..
This is going to be the roughest two months of any general election in recent memory.. Both candidates are beginning the final push with very high negatives in polls.. Those who already doubt Trump will not be swayed.. but those who doubt Hillary may be more so.. especially after videos like this make the rounds online..

What we did find out since 9/11: The Saudis were more heavily involved than anyone in 2001 admitted. People that day who would have blamed the Saudis would have been called kooks and conspiracy theorists..
