Low-quality CCTV footage purportedly shows the attack on Kim Jong-nam at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on February 13. A woman wearing a white shirt and blue skirt is seen approaching the man from behind - believed to be Kim Jong-nam - and grabbing his face while spraying him with some substance, presumably a fast-acting poison. Presumably, it’s the same “LOL-shirt wearing” Indonesian woman, who has already been identified as Siti Aishah and whose been detained by security forces.

SCARY KIDS GAMES TO PLAY IN THE DARK

Does anyone play FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S Sister Location?

My son’s sixth birthday was held this weekend..a fun time had by all, but I was amazed to hear and see the number of kids his age who are seemingly addicted to these games, whether having the action figures or just talking about the games they downloaded, even acting out certain portions..

Don’t get me wrong.. I am attempting to NOT become prudish. I watched horror from an early age and turned out (mostly) fine… but I was just stunned by how many young children under the age of 10, these kids being 4-6, knew so much about the game where dead children inhabit animatronics and try to kill a security guard at a pizza restaurant famous for mass murder.

So this brought up the question in my mind, what age is too young for FF@F?  What does anyone else in this modern age do with such a question: Google it.

I found countless religious-themed websites decisively saying that this game, the 1st through 5th and then the Sister Location addition, are devilish.. will cause nightmares .. are immoral. Are hard to handle for a child. These are the same types of people who would have condemned my mom for allowing me to watch certain horror films as a child…

But I will give the theory some credit. Some children cannot handle horror games. Some children SHOULD not handle horror games..

I think one reason so many young kids play FIVE NIGHTS is due to the FGTEEV family on YouTube playing it.. that channel is an innocent and kind family gaming station..

The kids at my son’s party presumably don’t know the murderous story behind the FIVE NIGHTS series.. That’s too heavy for them to know. The jump scares are just enough…

The next fad on its way to become a part of pop culture for kids under ten (and beyond): HELLO NEIGHBOR.

Horror for kids.
Safe? Sound..?
Over the top?

Oroville Dam Workers Fired for Posting Spillway Photos to Social Media

Oroville Dam Workers Fired for Posting Spillway Photos to Social Media :

A Syblon Reid contractor had forbidden a spillway team from capturing any activities at the dam and sharing the footage via social media. The contracting company has enforced this “no social media/no photos” policy at all of their construction sites.

One worker was allegedly fired for sharing a picture taken from the top of the spillway.

Catholic Church 'on alert': Pupils 'possessed by DEVIL' after playing with OUIJA BOARD APP:

 A STRANGE STORY..

Young students were struck down by “the devil” this week after a shocking and mysterious “virus” saw its victims scream and writhe in pain, a local mayor said.

About 20 young students were rushed from school to hospital, but doctors have been left befuddled by the “mass possession”.

Harrowing footage from the school in Llora, Colombia show screaming students being carried away by volunteers.

According to Francis Salamanca Martinez, mayor of the Lloro, the students screamed out that “the devil was going to take them with him”.Residents in the area claim the youth suffered a “demonic possession”.Police are still investigating the incident while relatives of the students have asked for the help of local priests.Sources told local media officials at El Colombiano that the country’s Catholic Church was “analysing the case”.

At this point mostly tabloids have reported this story..

I am always a bit standoffish on ‘mass possession’ articles from third world nations for obvious reasons..

But this was worth mentioning given the widespread attention is it garnering online..

Some joggers weren't joking when they said they were going out for a "brief run." In briefs, boxers, bras and bloomers, they ran three-quarters of a mile in a Valentine's Day-related charity event benefiting sick children. Saturday's annual Cupid's Undie Run featured 1,000 people in their underwear and little else, except for maybe some body-painted hearts, angels and Cupid's arrows on their chests. Participants, some of whom shaved hearts into their chest hair, ran through the streets near the city's sports stadiums.

Donald Trump embracing the legacy of Andrew Jackson

Donald Trump embracing the legacy of Andrew Jackson:

grasslooter:

From the AP:

An unvarnished celebrity outsider who pledged to represent the forgotten laborer took on an intellectual member of the Washington establishment looking to extend a political dynasty in the White House.

Andrew Jackson’s triumph in 1828 over President John Quincy Adams bears striking similarities to Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton last year, and some of those most eager to point that out are in the Trump White House.

Trump’s team has seized upon the parallels between the current president and the long-dead Tennessee war hero. Trump has hung a portrait of Jackson in the Oval Office and Trump’s chief strategist, Stephen Bannon, who has pushed the comparison, told reporters after Trump’s inaugural address that “I don’t think we’ve had a speech like that since Andrew Jackson came to the White House.”

But my favorite story about Jackson from the annals of history may be one that the DonaldHouse doesn’t much want to rehash.

On March 4 1889, Jackson held a open party at the White House for ‘the people’ to celebrate his inauguration.  This is how HISTORY.COM sums that event up:

After Jackson’s swearing-in ceremony and address to Congress, the new president returned to the White House to meet and greet a flock of politicians, celebrities and citizens. Very shortly, the crowd swelled to more than 20,000, turning the usually dignified White House into a boisterous mob scene. Some guests stood on furniture in muddy shoes while others rummaged through rooms looking for the president–breaking dishes, crystal and grinding food into the carpet along the way. (White House staff reported the carpets smelled of cheese for months after the party.) In an attempt to draw partygoers out of the building, servants set up washtubs full of juice and whiskey on the White House lawn

Surprised that hasn’t happened yet with POTUS45

History lesson … Trump wants to be Jackson. Will he have the same kind of parties?

Government severely misjudged strength of Oroville emergency spillway, sparking a crisis

Government severely misjudged strength of Oroville emergency spillway, sparking a crisis:

THE AP REPORTS THAT IF THE OROVILLE DAM FAILS, RESIDENTS WILL NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO LEAVE

DEVELOPING..

AP REPORTING:

Communities immediately downstream of California’s Lake Oroville dam would not receive adequate warning or time for evacuations if the 770-foot-tall dam itself — rather than its spillways — were to abruptly fail, the state water agency that operates the nation’s tallest dam repeatedly advised federal regulators a half-decade ago.

Regulators at the time recommended that state officials implement more public-warning systems, carry out annual public education campaigns and work to improve early detection of any problems at the dam.

Six years later, state and local officials have adopted some of the recommendations, including automated warnings via reverse 911 calls to residents. But local officials say the state hasn’t tackled other steps that could improve residents’ response, such as providing routine community briefings and improving escape routes.

This story was published today .. just before the newest storm, began rolling through the region causing concerns that the world is watching..

ALL EYES ON OROVILLE: RESIDENTS URGED TO BE READY TO LEAVE

Forecasters with the National Weather Service offered a stark warning Sunday for just about everyone living in the soggy, soaked Central Valley.

“Pretty much anybody needs to be prepared for the possibility that they may have to evacuate quickly,” said Sacramento meteorologist Brooke Bingaman.

Though most of the valley avoided further flooding Saturday night, the worst may be yet to come Monday and Tuesday, Bingaman said.

Roman Polanski Rape Victim Doesn’t Want You Boycotting Him on Her Behalf

Roman Polanski Rape Victim Doesn’t Want You Boycotting Him on Her Behalf:

scarystoriestouploadinthedark:

40 years later, Roman Polanski’s rape of then 13-year-old Samantha Geimer, is speaking out about how her life and her ordeal has become an endless issue of debate and controversy.

She told TMZ:

I don’t like being used by advocates boycotting that he’s going to be the president of the César Awards, people make a petition without my consent. What happened to me is, sadly, common — however, not the end of the world, and I’m sure I would have been fine, and I was fine, but nobody wants me to be fine … I continue to be asked to be a victim so people can use my experience, change it, make it worse, dramatize it for their own agendas … I’m not a victim anymore, I can speak for myself, I don’t want to be used

This low-budget Aussie horror film THE KILLING GROUNDS is getting rave reviews overseas

This low-budget Aussie horror film THE KILLING GROUNDS is getting rave reviews overseas:

scarystoriestouploadinthedark:

Australian movies are often so much more real, brutal… startlingly hardcore to the core.. This movie seems the same. For as much lavish praise that the film is getting, it is also receiving this:

Critics have been quick to praise the fact that the violence in Killing Ground(although brutal) is never exploitative, something Power attributes to his time as a censor. “I’ve definitely had a long professional interest in how we watch violence. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t just a violent film but a film about violence and what violence does.”

Power feels movie violence is often — wrongly — presented as a heroic option.

“I wanted the film to ask the question ‘What would happen in real life? What would actually happen if I was faced with this threat?’ Because the answer is often different to what happens in the movies. This violence feels very real and I think that’s what people are responding to.”

I think back to one of the most famous Aussie films in my life: FORTRESS. As a kid, and to this day, that movie scared the wits out of me more than anything made in America.

This new movie seems like to could be the same:

What sets Killing Ground apart from other thrillers is its unconventional structure. The film intertwines three separate stories, seemingly in different times and spaces: Two lovers on a weekend getaway; a family in peril and a pair of redneck psychopaths baying for blood.

Fortress really scared me as a kid. Like really really scared me as a kid.

Jordan Peele plans to direct a whole series of horror movies about 'social demons'

Jordan Peele plans to direct a whole series of horror movies about 'social demons':

scarystoriestouploadinthedark:

Peele is giving us the social commentary horror film GET OUT. If you did not hear about it yet, you will. In “Get Out,” a young black man (Daniel Kaluuya) finds himself in a very messed up situation —actually a massive understatement — when he goes out to the country to visit his white girlfriend’s (Allison Williams) family. We won’t give anything else away, but if you’ve seen the trailer, you can get a hint of how Peele created a unique chiller that explores real ideas and attitudes about race, some of them quite ugly.

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRfnevzM9kQ?feature=oembed&enablejsapi=1&origin=https://safe.txmblr.com&wmode=opaque&w=540&h=304]

But he won’t be done with that movie, apparently.. more are coming.

From Jason Guerrasio:

But this is far from a one-and-done for Peele. He recently told Business Insider that “Get Out” is the first in a collection of movies he wants to direct that examine what he calls “social demons.”

“I have four other social thrillers that I want to unveil in the next decade,” Peele told Business Insider. “The best and scariest monsters in the world are human beings and what we are capable of especially when we get together. I’ve been working on these premises about these different social demons, these innately human monsters that are woven into the fabric of how we think and how we interact, and each one of my movies is going to be about a different one of these social demons.”

Peele’s examination of race and alienation in “Get Out” is an impressive, confident directorial debut. We can’t wait to see what he will throw at us next, though we’re also pretty afraid.

California has been battered by storms recently, which has caused a whole host of problems for the area. Perhaps the most shocking impact is this 20-foot sinkhole that opened up in LA. The sinkhole opened up in Studio City and had already claimed one car when this footage caught the demise of another.According to reports, a woman was injured in the first car when it fell down the hole, but luckily firefighters were able to free her before the second vehicle followed.

Ivan Koloff, knowing among wrestling fans as “The Russian Bear,” has died. He was 74.

Koloff had been battling liver cancer and was in need of “urgent medical care,” according to a Go Fund Me page set up by his daughter, Rachel Marley, on Feb. 2.

“My dad was diagnosed with liver disease about 10 years ago and while he has been living with it, he chose not to make this announcement public to his fans and friends,” she wrote. “But doctors are now saying that his liver function is getting worse day by day and it will continue to. There are no other medical options available for my dad for a cure. ”
