Who are the real demons

Today's a day to imagine no religion, especially in light of news that churchgoers in Texas not only starved and tried to perform an exorcism on a two year old, but also the fact he died during this tragic craziness.  Before the peklle fled to mexicio, realizing their crime, they apparently tried to raise the buy from the dead.

Not all of the puzzling bright spots on the dwarf planet Ceres are alike. The closest-yet images of the gleams, taken from 45,000 kilometres away, suggest that at least two of the spots look different from one another when seen in infrared wavelengths.
The Hubble Space Telescope spied many of the bright spots from afar years ago, but the observations from NASA's Dawn spacecraft — which began looping around Ceres on 6 March — are the first at close range. The images were released on 13 April in Vienna, Austria, at a meeting of the European Geosciences Union.
Scientists say that the bright spots may be related to ice exposed at the bottom of impact craters or from some kind of active geology. They glimmer tantalizingly in a new full-colour map of Ceres, obtained in February but released at the conference. The map uses false colours to tease out slight differences on the otherwise dark surface of Ceres.

Even more interesting, and thought provoking:

Spot 1 appears darker in images from Dawn's infrared spectrometer, said Federico Tosi, a Dawn scientist at the Institute for Space Astrophysics and Planetology and the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics in Rome. That suggests that the area is cooler than the rest of the dwarf planet's surface, supporting the idea that the spot is made of ice.
But for some reason Spot 5 — the brightest feature seen on Dawn — does not show up in infrared images. “One possibility is that we still don’t have enough resolution to see it in the proper way,” said Tosi.

Space is fun.
And some truly fun theories exist about these bright spots on Ceres..

Ceres is one little amazing dwarf.. As we learn more, perhaps we'll discover a distant icy plume. Or maybe even a little city of space aliens with bright lights.

Letterman show announces final guests

The AP reports,

CBS announced Monday that his guests will include Bill Murray, George Clooney, Steve Martin, Jerry Seinfeld, Robert Downey Jr., Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Don Rickles, Julia Roberts, Ray Romano, Howard Stern, Oprah Winfrey, Martin Short, John Travolta, Michael J. Fox and Alec Baldwin.
And there will be others who haven't been announced yet. Musical guests will include Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews Band, Mumford and Sons, Norah Jones, Amos Lee and Tracy Chapman.

Good set of people--all of those who made the show what it was over the past 30+ years..

A case of the Mondays.. A new car from St. Jude before the thunder strikes again

The weekend was rough. Car problems. But today a new CHEVROLET SONIC is in my life, after too many problems were stacking up from the beast 2010 Jeep Patriot. It saw it days and got my family through a number of winters.. But as cars go, so does luck.
Not only were there transmission issues--big ones--but also wheel bearings.. ball joints .. brakes.. Oh, and a cracked windshield that mysteriously happened last night.
So .. a decision seemingly was made by Saint Jude, the patron saint of lost and hopeless cases, who I have been trying to contact now for about a week.

Maybe he came through, smashed my windshield, and gave me the sign to get rid of one beast for the new gray Sonic the hedgehog.

Can't wait to pick my son up at day care in a new car. And then tell him NO MORE ICE CREAM WITH SPRINKLES in his car seat.. The mess I found underneath his area in the Jeep probably cost me about $500 in trade in money..

Bad weeks.
Good weeks.
All weeks.
There are all weeks--fleeting sets of seven days that come and go as quick as rain on a summer afternoon.

Car problems and house issues, all of those things don't matter when you're on your death bed asking to see your family for the final time.

Perspective.
Of course when you're asking St. Jude for help, you don't maintain that affinity of perspective as much as when the storm begins to pass.

But another storm lurks. It always does.
You just need to reestablish your safety zone before the thunder strikes.

Earthquakes in LA

3.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Baldwin Hills area Sunday night, hours after a 2.5-magnitude temblor jolted the same area, according to the U.S. Geological Survey..

Nerves are rattled. The quakes both originated from the same fault..

There are lots of people beginning to worry that the dry state of California is also overdue for a major quake..that has been a fear for a few years. And we ain't getting younger..

Let me first say, politics is a blood sport and I really have lost interest of the years. It amazes me that we teach our children not to bully each other, and laws are passed stopping them, but yet politicians have free reign to destroy each other and use NSA secrets or back alley Sallys to their advantage. The more dirt the better.. the more chances a politician can be destroyed in front of the media spotlight.. And then the other guy wins.

Water wars coming. The next crime wave is predicted

I recall a documentary I saw back in the late 1990s, it was some sort of bad TV special--bad in acting and producing--that predicted what the next fifty or so years of life may be like. Some talked about Nostrodamus, others just predicted based off of scientific research. One particular thing stuck in my mind: The possibility of 'waters wars,' with shortages and droughts people would be forced to fight and become adversaries just for a drop of liquid.

TSARNAEV FOUND GUILTY ON 30 COUNTS

THE AP DISPATCH ON THE DEVELOPING JURY VERDICT:

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was convicted on all charges Wednesday in the Boston Marathon bombing by a federal jury that now must decide whether the 21-year-old former college student should be executed.
Tsarnaev folded his arms, fidgeted and looked down at the defense table as he listened to one guilty verdict after another on all 30 counts against him, including conspiracy and use of a weapon of mass destruction. Seventeen of those counts are punishable by death.
The jury took a day and a half to reach its verdict, which was practically a foregone conclusion, given his lawyer's startling admission during opening statements that Tsarnaev carried out the attack with his now-dead older brother, Tamerlan.

The bomber now the convicted.. may soon be the doomed to death..

The entertainment world continues to watch the movies of the famed Nikki Finke.. She posted an update on her site only a few days back that she has made a decision on her future plans and ‘big changes’ are coming.. What those changes are, however, are not being revealed.. instead she went on to boast about her surging Twitter follower numbers..
