Obama vs the press? Yes, indeed..

The rundown of the clash: The White House said that a San Fransisco CHRONICLE reporter broke the rules when he filmed a protest at a private dinner—you know, the one where the person paid thousands of bucks just to sing out a protest song

The White House said the reporter broke the rules of typical pool reporting by using film and not text..

But the San Fran CHRONICLE is upping the fight a bit more today: They said that the White House is very wrong....

This is a fascinating story to me.. I’ll be interested in seeing where it goes. It also shows that no matter the party or president, there is inevitably a war between those who want to report information and those who’d rather keep it secret.

Pennsylvania prosecutor approves charges for 10-year-old babysitter after infant dies

Fogal said a charge of third-degree murder is appropriate for the girl, who was two weeks shy of her 10th birthday when her “violent acts” caused abusive head trauma to the baby and ultimately his death.

It was determined during a hearing Friday that girl will be tried in juvenile court rather than in adult criminal court. Fogal said she will be tried as a delinquent, however, meaning if convicted she could face time in a juvenile detention center.

GRIM NEW NUMBERS: 342 PEOPLE DEAD IN SIX STATES AFTER MASSIVE TORNADO OUTBREAK

A very bad weekend for many..

I think I found the perfect image for news orgs to use as their ‘stock shot’ of Donald Trump. I don’t think no one image can perfectly sum up the man who would purchase the White House better than this.

The website parapolitical with a great example in the form of an image of our modern day news media:

… we expect the press to provide transparency and accountability to the people to whom governments are ultimately accountable so people are well-informed …

- Barack Obama extols the enlightened role the press play in American civic discourse (2006)

Freedom of Press: the founding myth of financial democratic politics?

How true this all is.. One day in the life of media coverage of events.. and this occurs.

The big websites all following to the minute the updates from the Royal wedding—I got a few news alerts yesterday that the news alert writers should be ashamed of. Even more, I got an breaking news alert on my phone that the Royal palace last night ordered dozens of pizzas, delivered to the privileged few by London police.

I respect Brian Williams and NBC NIGHTLY NEWS a bit more, though.. at least he turned the jet around and they became the only news network to do on the ground and all-around good reporting on the calamity in the South..

But this CNN snippet—of a real screenshot of a day in the news—is very telling of how far our celebrity culture has been intertwined with news of the day..

Once again, tip of the coal rake to parapoliticalfor some good image for thought.

I wish I was there right now.

Brutal honesty from Anderson Cooper

He tweeted tonight:

I love London, but Brits drink 2 much. In 20 min I just saw 25 drunks, 3 vomiters, 5 public pee-ers, and 4 passed out people. Yuck

A highlight from the Royal wedding after party.

Looks like Harry spiked the drinks again.

Mr. Bean in a more serious light at today’s Royal ceremony. but despite his dire scowl, I just can’t get past fish biting his nose or him with a turkey stuck on his head…

A party not fit for commoners

The Royal wedding day ends with bacon butties and fry ups at a late night party of 300.. drinks on Harry. He best hope no one has a camera for the embarrassing moments ..

The hatless woman.. A scandal worthy of .. Well, very little attention

But since once real news reporters are now gossiping about it, so too does this site: it’s true, David Cameron’s wife did not wear a hat.. and it looked like she didn’t care a bit.. The Queen might.

Mrs. Obama offended the Queen once too.. As I’m sure so did Lt. Frank Drebin .. Things happen. Hats sometimes don’t.
