Tornado takes the Istan by the bul

This is not normal weather for Istanbul: A tornado..

With it came heavy rains and high winds on Saturday..

Some roads were submerged.. firefighters worked through the weekend to pull cars out of water..

The tornado hit after an excessively hot week in the nation..

But though it’s rare, it’s not the first time in very recent memory that Istanbul got hit with a twister..

Back in June, another tornado hit the Eastern part of the nation..

Weather indeed in a changin’…

Airman dies saving his 5-year-old daughter's life

Stories like this always get me emotional.
This man was a Master Sgt. but the true bravery he showcased in life was not in the air or in battle, it was against a weather system  that had no sympathy for human life.

His daughter is alive because of his actions.. He is not.

The money quote:

“Lorelai kept telling the emergency room people, she said, ‘My daddy saved me; the house exploded and my daddy saved me; he’s a hero,’” Pamela said. “And he is. He’s a true hero.”

Maybe this Friday night, take a second to appreciate your own life just more..

And pray or hope there’s a better place after this planet takes us—if so Dan Wassom is in it.

Master Sgt. Dan 'Bud' Wassom II was killed while shielding his 5-year-old daughter when a ferocious tornado tore through Vilonia, Ark., north of Little Rock on April 27.

Rare scare …

It’s beyond rare for this to happen in France, but it did: A tornado waterspout ripped through the South of France, shocking locals and tourists in the area.. There is video..

This is an extremely significant and dangerous weather situation developing for Thursday.. (Warnings like this are not common for the area where the purple shaded color on the map is) .. big thunderstorms with high winds are likely.. In the purple: Tornadoes are not only possible but likely—and there will be massive power outages if storms truly knock these areas..

The threat is Baltimore/DC/Philly.. a lesser threat but still potent exists back to Harrisburg PA and the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania..

Places like New York City, New Jersey, and other areas along the coast line could see wind gusts topping 50mph.. 37 million people are in the area where the most dangerous weather could occur Thursday..

Tomorrow is Tornado Thursday for someone, and maybe more than one city.

As I wrote here on Coal Speaker only yesterday *(about this upcoming threat as a matter of fact)*, we see now that tornadoes don’t care if you’re a populated area or a trailer park.

Pay attention to your favorite source of weather today and especially tomorrow. This could be a very bad day for millions of people, let’s hope it’s not.

Two more funerals for Oklahoma schoolchildren to be held Friday

This Oklahoma tornado story has been making me feel quite down this week. The horror and heartache that occurred is overwhelming. And now these sad funerals taking place only add insult to the injury… Any time a child loses a life is beyond distressing to me since I had my own …

And I’ve been doing a lot of deep contemplation lately about life.. Lots of prayer, perhaps you can say. But I just don’t know what I’m praying to anymore…

There are just no words to describe the horror that we saw today with this massive tornado in Moore, Oklahoma.

I just cannot think of words at all.

This is horrendous

The AP is now broadcasting this to the world: KFOR-TV reports that up to 24 children are believed dead at the Plaza Towers Elementary School and that it has turned into a search and recovery effort

This is a worst case scenario ..
This brutal tornado has now etched itself into the annals of weather history… And with its short presence in Moore Oklahoma it also stole the lives of so many..

Block after block is only debris. Winds cracked and demolished all in its path.. So many lives tonight now undone. So many people hurt. So many killed.

This is terrible and heartbreaking news… May God ease their suffering immediately and keep them.. If he’s there..

Tornado alley .. Polish version. You don't hear of these storms often hitting UK nations..

But today a tragic situation unfolded ..

A freak wave of tornadoes slammed in part of Poland today.. houses are wrecked, people are shocked, and tonight at least one is dead in the nation.

This summer has already given Poland and other European nations hail, flash floods, and heavy winds. And now quite powerful tornadoes have struck..

This can happen in this nation and other UK countries, but it rarely does. And when it does it is seldom as powerful as the storms that hit Sunday..

Here is a video of some tornado events:

'TORNADO MIRACLE' ANGEL BABCOCK LOSES BATTLE

Very sad to see the tornado miracle Angel Babcock lost her battle tonight and perished.. hopefully to join her family in an afterlife…

And… I hope there is an afterlife……..

…second chances…

A road to no recovery for so many..

The town of Marysville Indiana, a town of less than 2,000 people, has practically been wiped off the map by the tornado outbreak this week..
Recovery seems to be far away..
Some homes were dropped 100 yards away from where they were.. the noises of chainsaws have now replaced the roar of the tornadoes.
The cleanup process now starting..
A young baby was found alone in a field.. alive. She is in critical condition but word now has come that the baby girl’s family perished in the tornado.
More than 100 tornadoes on Friday—a record for March and as many as we see in an entier month. All in one day.. All in one day……

Get ready: It may be an above average tornado season in the United States

Get ready: It may be an above average tornado season in the United States

The total average of tornadoes in the month of march 94

souplines:

The total number of tornadoes yesterday? 95
Global warming? Nah

I was wrong earlier.. well not wrong but way off. I said 70+ tornadoes but didn’t realize it was up to 95.

The previous record was set in 2006 (not long ago, eh?) .. Broken now if all these are confirmed.

A record that I don’t think anyone really wanted to beat..

Not out of the woods yet with this storm system.. And the death toll sadly isn’t done rising..

Violent storms kill 31, death toll could rise

But even more: the storms continue today. So despite the media reports of the storm being written in past tense, don’t let your guard down if the sky above is stormy.. Follow your local weather—and maybe it’s time to get a NOAA weather radio. Good investment for times like yesterday and today..

The day after tomorrow: Images from horrific damage due to the tornado outbreak

There are also some more images here

The day after tomorrow: Images from horrific damage due to the tornado outbreak

The photos and stories coming from the heartland of America are tough..

Lives and limbs lost due to the tornado outbreak.. And even more, an entire town has been wiped off the landscape due to severe weather—severe weather that just doesn’t seem right happening this late in winter.. or early in spring, depending on what your view of the seasonal change is.

As a matter of fact, the 70+ tornado reports (if all confirmed) will blow away the typical overall number for March in general—70 plus in just one day with an entire month to go.

And speaking of not being out of the woods yet, tornado warnings yet again abound: All the way from Alabama to parts of Northern Florida.

It goes without saying but I’ll say it anyway: Prepare and be aware. Watch what is above and know what is below.

This may be a very long and drawn out spring and summer of severe weather. Don’t be surprised if someone today believes that the Mayan calender is right after all..
