Under the kingdom’s strict dress code for women, Saudi females are required to wear a headscarf and loose, black robes in public. Most women in Saudi Arabia cover their hair and face with a veil known as the niqab. But covering one’s head is not required for foreigners, and some Western women choose to forego the headscarf while in Saudi Arabia.
As a delegation of dozens of Saudi officials — all men — greeted the Obamas in Riyadh, some shook hands with Mrs. Obama. Others avoided a handshake but acknowledged the first lady with a nod as they passed by.
This is an obvious scene of fear and panic.. Times Square, empty during the Blizzard of 2015 that became the Fizzler of the new year.. I am amazed that the city that never sleeps wouldn’t venture out to enjoy a kiss under the lights during the snow.. or hot coffee and snowball fights on a city street.. I am sort of sad seeing this. If you go through the annals of history when big storms actually hit, the entire city was out and about, doing the same thing they’d be doing if it was sunny and warm..
But this year, with this new found generation if wimps, we hide and ‘hunker down.’ We play video games and stare at the endless supplies of bread and milk purchased in near empty stores.
Don’t get me wrong, weather can be dangerous during storms. Blizzards can also be horrendous with massive power outages and winds that can kill.
But this storm was not that. At least not for millions of people who were told their lives were about to end and their island would be disconnected from the United States, sent out to drift, and subject to alien spaceshifts playing target practice on big buildings in the Atlantic Ocean. Okay. Maybe that is not what was said.. but what was said obviously led to fear and panic..
Are we not able to endure any challenge anymore?
Last night during the brief snow that hit my part of Pennsylvania, I took my dog for a walk and noticed several yards were covered in footprints, sleigh paths, and tunnels. It was amazing to see the work of children playing their hearts out on a cold and school-less winter day.
But that is not the scene in the trendy Big Apple. At least not according to the evidence supplied by this photo..
This photo shows an opposite era than one in the past. Now we hide behind walls and computer screens. We live blog our reactions, and we Tweet about weather.
But we don’t get out and enjoy it. Play in it. Live in it.
Live a little.
It’s snow.
And obviously, it’s not the big storm promised..
I love the energy of Times Square. I think a lot of people missed out on that energy by hiding away from flakes as they fell …

While the panic ensued and bread and milk vanished from store shelves about the blizzard that turned into the fizzard, there was something mightily amazing happening well above our heads in outer space..
There was a frighteningly close shave experienced by the planet Earth.
On Monday, asteroid 2004 BL86 was traveling at 35,000 miles .. it passed around 3.1 times the distance of the Earth to the moon. And when it did, there was quite an amazing sight: The asteroid HAS ITS OWN MOON!
This asteroid was discovered in 2004.. the passby it had yesterday was the closest it will be until 2027..This asteroid was so big, obviously, that a moon was gravitated in for the wild ride..
The other obvious aspect of this story: This was exceptionally close.. at least we knew about it since 2004.. If it would have now–or does in 2027–it would be equal to several Hiroshima bombs.. It would be a mass extinction event.. But last night we were safe. Instead we panicked in big cities and bought every crumb of bread and ounce of milk that stores had..
At some point we need to realize that the real threat–and yet ironically the place we should be trying to reach–is space. This one let us live. But it’s the other asteroids floating and whirling in space that we don’t know about which keeps people awake at night..
The Lizard Squid took down Malaysian airlines this weekend.. And last night they took down Facebook and Instagram.. However, Facebook denies the attack took place but a major outage did take place//

The storm, though large for some, failed to live up to the predictions some said..
The Weather Channel went wall-to-wall on coverage for the storm they called Juno.. other networks had their reporters out ready with yardsticks..but each time they did a live report, the snow was vacant and the streets were covered in a simple slushy mess..
Parts of Long Island had a long duration wind storm, and Boston seemed to be the hardest hit of the big cities when speaking of snow totals.. But 6000+ flights later, you sure wonder if the threat was big or if the hype simply took over ..
After all, forecasters have to pick now from dozens of computer models where as, in those ancient days of the 20th century, they’d get guidance from a model and forecast it themselves.
There was science then. Now there’s computer runs… The runs tell the tale correctly: There was a storm on a certain date. They can pinpoint patterns and systems.. but forecasters need to begin doing their jobs again and picking a model for guidance and coming up with their own story.. One forecaster even Tweeted an apology to policy makers in big cities over the forecast being so wrong.
While the major metropolitan areas–with people well-stocked with bread, milk, and liquor–were spared, the real blizzard will take place but not in the big cities.. Maine and Nova Scotia will be getting hit hard.. But will the media care? Will they report? Will they decide?
The bust was a gust,
But hype they must!
Fear gets ratings.
And empty store shelves..

A moment captured in time.. as we prep and shop for every last loaf of bread across the Northeast, perspective is key.
Here’s some images of a storm past. Namely the great blizzard of 1888.. While I was alive for 93, 96, 03, and 07’s massive blasts, I surely wasn’t present for the 1888 monster–at least not in my current human form. And neither were you.. but the images are striking, and somewhat haunting. The one I chose to push through with the link for this story shows people silently staring at the camera as they attempted to slowly dig out of the monster that befell them.. Amazing images indeed.
I trust within the coming days we will see even more amazing images–but modern and new as the blizzard of 2015 descends on 30+ million people strong.

Three feet of snow in places and hurricane force winds expected with the Blizzard of 2015.. The storm is historic –it may shatter records for snowfall in some major cities.
The Drudge Report has been blasting old images of lovers in New York City parks surrounded by snow.. those scenes may play out again in our new age. The part of this which may be the most historic of all: 28 million people are in blizzard warnings and another 11 million are in winter storm warnings and advisories.. this is a widespread monster.
And it is the kind that has not been seen for decades–some people in the area will be experiencing a monster snowstorm like this for the first time in their lives, as they were not present no this planet in 1993 and 1996..
Another point of chaos with the upcoming blizzard: Flight cancellations and delays. And lots of them.. Airlines were preparing to shut down operations along the East Coast late Sunday, leading to the cancellation of approximately 3,000 flights at this time.. That’s a lot.

Smiley or not..
The SMILEY FACE theory of murder.. ripe for horror movies.. BUT.. I am still doubtful of this as a true theory.. but there have been LOTS of strange deaths lately among healthy college men.. And they all seem to involve floating in water near a path that they should not have taken to get home after drinking.. Is there a serial killer somewhere on the the loose killing all of these men the same way?
You can read the WIKI on this.. It seems tough to think there is something nefarious going on. But for some reason, healthy teenage boys or men in the early 20s drown..
But they do happen when people are drinking. Could all of these deaths be suicide? Or could there be a true SMILEY FACE theory that sensibly connects all of the strange deaths across the nation? The National Weather Service has upgraded a blizzard watch to a blizzard warning for the central New Jersey coast all the way to the Canadian border, including Boston and New York City.
Mayor Bill de Blasio warns New Yorkers to “prepare for something worse” than what they have seen before. “We are facing most likely one of the largest snowstorms in the history of this city.”
Twenty to 30 inches of snow is possible in some areas with winds gusting 55 to 65 mph. The National Weather Service says whiteout conditions will make travel extremely dangerous.

Report says bodies found stacked at funeral home
A Jan. 12 inspection of Arkansas Funeral Care in Jacksonville found the funeral home’s cooler in its holding facility “filled beyond capacity with bodies,” according to a state inspector’s report, with two bodies “stacked on top of each other” and other bodies, not embalmed, lying outside the cooler.
The state Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors suspended the licenses of the funeral home and its manager, LeRoy Wood, during an emergency hearing Wednesday afternoon. Several hours later, officials with the state Crime Laboratory and the Pulaski County coroner’s office removed 31 bodies from the funeral home.
This is disgusting and shameful.. A special place in hell should exist for whoever would disrespect the dead in this way.

Sure the past was rough and tough.. but in 1907 when this was sketched, the town was also younger and more vibrant. Filled with business and life.

The news of this “shadows and dangers” comment provides even more fodder for the paranoid mind, the haunting images of a Pope standing overtop of his people during a final battle or perhaps even on being the last in a series prophetized by St. Malachy so many centuries ago..

More information about something locally making big news.. The former Cardinal Brennan high school is going to be NORTH SCHUYLKILL MIDDLE SCHOOL very soon..
The former Catholic home to education was closed in 2007.. shuddered and tucked away in the annals of memory in the coal region..
Since the announcement was made that NS was going to take over CB, mixed emotions have developed..
There is one common thread, though. Most people seem to be quite fine that it will be used as a home to edumucation.. but there’s some other things which are getting some heated reactions among CB alumni, including the following:
- All religious relics will be subtracted from the property.. obviously crosses and Jesus can’t exist on a publicly funded taxpayer location. Including the giant cross on the mess of the new field house that was built in the late 1990s..
- All memories of CB will be eliminated..
- The çharger horse that exists throughout various places on the campus will be painted over with NS emblems..
- The blue and gold, once the color of CB pride, will be replaced with red and blue where ever it existed..
- The places of memories and reflections of past students and classes will be trampled on by people who have no clue what happened in certain rooms or buildings. That one is upsetting to me..
- There is a good chance the bell tower, once known for the signatures of past people, may be painted over. As though none of the sneak-signings ever even happened..
- Nate, the janitor, will not be there. And for that, it’s a great misfortune on future students..
I am not in the camp blaming NS for anything.
But instead I blame the Catholic Church. I blame them for having priests who molested children for 50 years, leading to a collapse in faith and lack of church attendance ,and lack of money, and death of Catholic education. If anyone is looking for a villain, they are your best option.
Meanwhile.. This is how CB once looked way in the past, and more recently in the past..

Note the ‘as we know it’ ending to his statement..
There are some clear thing to agree with on this assumption of our future.. Schmidt reminds us,
“There will be so many IP addresses…so many devices, sensors, things that you are wearing, things that you are interacting with that you won’t even sense it. It will be part of your presence all the time. Imagine you walk into a room, and the room is dynamic. And with your permission and all of that, you are interacting with the things going on in the room.”
It already is a part of our presence. Washing machines and refrigerators equipped to go online, Smart TVs being watched (and watching us) and now iWatches are on the way, making technology even closer to being implanted into our arms instead of just being worn on the outside of our skin.

Sure, people have the chance to make witty and quick comments to stories on the Internet..But as fast and comedic as people can be, they are also purchasing the evil products that Schmidt spoke about. They are eating up smart TVs.. they are happily living a constantly-connected life on social media on their smartphones..
Schmidt is right.
The Internet is changing and it will never be the same again.
However, that’s not really a bad thing. It is just a thing.. Just as a stone tablet led to a fountain pen that led to a typewriter that led to a smart phone, it’s the progression of society and humanity. It just seems, lately, that we have steamrolled far more into the future than what human minds are capable of emotionally dealing with. At least to me.

Technology can be amazing and give birth to freedoms of the mind, or it can become a technocratic hell on earth led by demons with human skin. We pick..

Brooklyn-based artist and hacker KATSU used his own fecal matter to create a portrait ofFacebook CEO and cofounder Mark Zuckerberg.
The pooptrait, which is currently on display at The Hole in New York City, is a part of KATSU’s first solo exhibition titled “Remember the Future.” The gallery was not immediately available for comment.
I suppose this is nice. I guess..

ISIS Posts Clock Counting Down To Zero Online As Time Is Running Out For Japanese Hostages
Militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have posted an online warning that the “countdown has begun” for the group to kill a pair of Japanese hostages.

The posting, which appeared Friday, shows a clock counting down to zero along with gruesome images of other hostages who have been beheaded by the group.
ISIS gave Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe a 72-hour deadline – which expired Friday – to pay a $200 million ransom for the two hostages. The Friday posting on a forum popular among Islamic State militants and sympathizers did not show any images of the Japanese hostages.
Japan said it will not be paying the $200 million ransom that has been demanded..
According to various reports, officials are cautiously watching Internet postings and Twitter messages globally to watch for any sign that images or videos of murder have been posted..
But on the topic of ISIS itself, many are beginning to ponder the set and scenery of the videos being filmed. The shadows on the faces of the hostages don’t match the shadows of their bodies.. at time it looks like the speaker is superimposed and has a photoshopped hand.. And some have even joked that the background looks more like Luke Skywalker’s home planet from STAR WARS than it does a desert in the Middle East..

The state of the union.. the state of a presidency.. a President, once unpopular, now becomes a populist.. ....he rants against the wealth and proclaims his pain for the poor–he begs a Republican majority to pass Middle Class reforms they will never consider.
But standing ovations were common on the left, eye rolls on the right. But he was dead on accurate.. no Keystone Pipeline when a bigger project could prevail.. no little ideas. Big ideas–but why does he cut NASA? Why doesn’t he stand in the way of intrusive spying and corporate giveaways? Because.. I suppose, he’s a politician.. I have a feeling that some of the KoolAid left over from 2008 will be back on the shelves by tomorrow morning’s news run.. Though there’s only two years left.. Two years that will feature no minimum wage increase.. no sick pay for nursing mothers.. no big jobs program.. no reforms for the Middle Class. However it will make a hell of a few issues for 2016. And that’s the point.. politics is always getting in the way of real reforms. The standing ovations are all for show. Theater at its finest. Or worst.
