Billy Joel shakes off some dust and appears on the TONIGHT SHOW with Jimmy Fallon. And it made for pretty great music and good TV. I saw Billy Joel twice live.. They were shows to remember. My wife wasn’t a fan and grudgingly went to the Hershey PA show a few years ago. She instantly became a fan during the outdoor nightmare performance in beautiful brisk air.. (I still don’t particularly like Fallon’s brand of hosting, but this clip was good, although one thing that seems to be ok with Fallon is how he loves his guests as much as we do.. not much fake about him).

Beating the meat: Catholic guilt
I was born into the Catholic guilt ..
I distinctly recall being a child and thinking I’d burn in hell because I accidentally ate a chicken finger on a Friday in lent. I think I even tearfully told a priest at my Catholic school mandated confession in my early grade school years.
Since then, it obvious became less and less of an important matter.
However, I finally found an article from a Catholic site that claims to explain WHY Catholics are told not to eat meat on Fridays.
Is it because of the fishing industry needing business? Popes not liking mutton? God declaring that fish rocks the casbah?
No. It’s all because—yet again—of sex.
Basically this: Hot blooded animals, AKA meat, can be equated to to hot sex. And for that reason you should steer clear. Seriously. Saint Thomas’ own words:
Fasting was instituted by the Church in order to bridle the concupiscences of the flesh, which regard pleasures of touch in connection with food and sex. Wherefore the Church forbade those who fast to partake of those foods which both afford most pleasure to the palate, and besides are a very great incentive to lust
Now I remember George Constanza equating sex and eating, in one episode even using food during his promiscuity.. But I myself have never had any sexual experience because of steak, chicken, or any ‘other white meat.’ A friend of mine once told me eating hot dogs was phallic.. But I don’t know.
Apparently St. Thomas never saw me eat Shrimp Scampi, which if made with Dry Sherry, becomes an gratifying sexual experience for me.

I LOVE stories about weird frequencies—Clyde Lewis has done a series of great shows on odd transmissions over the year. And with tension in Russia and the United States again, it’s no doubt that UVB-76 is being listened to by people across the shortwave world.

The PPL Corp. nuclear reactor under federal scrutiny has been shut down after the discovery of a leaky water valve. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said workers found the leak during a startup of Unit 2 at PPL’s Susquehanna nuclear facility near Berwick. The reactor had been shut off for maintenance work on its turbines. PPL said today that the reactor was turned off so the valve could be fixed. Unit 2 is one of two roughly 1,300-megawatt reactors Allentown-based PPL operates at its Susquehanna Steam Electric Station near Berwick, Pa. It is one of nine commercial reactors nationwide that the federal commission listed as having a degraded level of performance last year. The listing is due to unplanned shutdowns in 2012 and 2013. The Unit 1 reactor remains at full power. Commission spokesman Neil Sheehan said inspectors will monitor repairs.

Amber Alert issued for 11-year-old Va. boy in 'extreme danger'
I am sharing because I know I have a number of readers in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.. the suspect may be taking him to one of those areas..
Lucas Ezra Silas Guinn, white, male, age 11 years old, height 4 feet 08 inches, weight 84 lbs, with brown eyes and brown hair, wearing red and black shirt with blue jeans pants, went missing.
This from the report from WTVR:
The child is likely abducted by Jimmy Donald Guinn, white, male, age 67 years old, height 5 feet 11 inches, weight 235 lbs, with blue eyes and brown/partially gray hair.
They may be traveling in a 2004 purple freight-liner tractor, VA license 78471PY.
VSP sent an update saying that the truck company name is “Snow Bird Trucking.”
The destination is unknown but possibly northbound towards West Virginia or Ohio.

Might have possibly abandoned the freightliner truck and could be in a large style burgundy pickup diesel truck.

CNN’s Don Lemon has been entertaining all sorts of theories about the missing Malaysian Airlines Flight 370, including the chance something supernatural happened, but on Wednesday night, he actually asked panelists about the possibility a black hole was involved.
People are laughing at CNN for wondering on air if a black hole could have swallowed up Flight 370.. but don’t even try to tell me you weren’t at least entertaining the thought for a few seconds yourself!

I am doubtful that they found flight 370 wreckage
For 10 days now, we’ve been told that the plane veered to the left and continued that way, some reports even say for up to four hours, at least one rumor had it that the plane flew over top of a remote island..
But now they find so-called wreckage off the coast of Australia? They are not confirming anything yet, but I would be very hesitant to say that this is flight 370 for the fact that it goes against all of the other storylines about what may have happened to this flight..
Unless all the of those other storylines were dead wrong

The Australian maritime agency warned the images may not be related to the aircraft, but one aviation analyst said Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott likely would not have announced the discovery to the the House of Representatives in Canberra without being reasonably sure of their find.
“There have been so many false leads and so many starts and changes and then backtracking in the investigation,” said Mary Schiavo, a CNN aviation analyst and former inspector general for the U.S. Department of Transportation. “He wouldn’t have come forward and said if they weren’t fairly certain.”
But officials cautioned that there were no guarantees that the objects now being investigated would prove to be from the missing plane.
