I have really never liked horror movies based on true stories.. they seem a little over the top, often. And in this matter, perhaps insensitive and tacky..Sony has just bought the rights to a horror movie based on the death of Elisa Lam in Los Angeles in 2013..

You may remember recent stories about Lam in the news. She was the student who was found dead in the water tank of then famed and cursed Cecil Hotel—for two weeks hotel visitors were complaining of a smell and taste in the water, later they found Lam’s body.

In recent months, a surveillance video from the elevator in the hotel was made famous because it seemed to show Lam acting odd moments before she supposedly entered the roof area and somehow got into a high and secured water tank..

The coroner ruled the death to be accidental. 

Not an accident is SONY making profits off of the death of the innocent young woman.

Horror movie controversy in Australia.. two famed movie critics from down under refused to review a horror flick WOLF CREEK 2..  And now as a result, star from the movie John Jarratt took aim at the ‘elitist’ critics for their refusal to acknowledge the movie.. 

I am actually somewhat laughing at the image of the critics, Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton. Stratton looks identical to the man who does my taxes every year.. I hope I don’t take this movie review refusal out on him in 2015..

Navy sailors suffering pain and ailments after Fukushima response.. 
But nothing to fear, Navy sailors.. Apparently smoking is worse than the radiation, so says a FORBES editorial about the disaster..  I am sure the author means well. Right? I’d be interesting how tied in with nuclear energy he is.. Nonetheless, the NOT DANGEROUS radiation will be making it to the West Coast by April..  Also the not dangerous scenario playing out at Fukushima is getting a little less dangerous as warnings sound that clean up pumps stopped working. Nothing to see here. The FORBES science author said so..

My favorite Facebook weather source, the Weatherboy Weather posted an “OMG” over top of today’s snowstorm forecast.. This is beginning to look like a long duration snow storm set to drop up to 20 inches or more in spots..  prepare now because by Monday all travel may be temporarily grounded.. The other concern may be ice if enough warmth spreads into the storm.. It’s a March storm after all—and March storms typically produce heavy snow. In like a lion.. a cold, cold lion in winter.

My quick take: It looks more like little dog houses, as though there is a new low in America.. that instead of trying to get better jobs in this nation, or industry, or good construction, we are going to promote the idea of making one body ‘homes’ that people can hide away in like pieces of garbage.. 

One ‘advocate’ quoted in the NBC story says that this could ‘revolutionize housing’ in the United States.

He may be right. The only house most Americans will be able to afford will be these tiny houses..

• Optic Nerve program collected Yahoo webcam images in bulk
• 1.8m users targeted by UK agency in six-month period alone
• Yahoo: ‘A whole new level of violation of our users’ privacy’
• Material included large quantity of sexually explicit images

GCHQ files dating between 2008 and 2010 explicitly state that a surveillance program codenamed Optic Nerve collected still images of Yahoo webcam chats in bulk and saved them to agency databases, regardless of whether individual users were an intelligence target or not.

In one six-month period in 2008 alone, the agency collected webcam imagery – including substantial quantities of sexually explicit communications – from more than 1.8 million Yahoo user accounts globally.

So… what did the UK government catch you doing??!
