The element of surprise..
When you know your child is sick, it’s a tough time to sleep. When you don’t know you’re child is about to have food not agree with him and , at 3am when he asks to come in your bed, vomit all over your face and pillow? That’s a Pearl Harbor type attack.. One mothers and fathers cannot prepare for. No advanced warning.. no gurgles.. no hiccups. Just all out warfare on your bed sheets deep in the night.
But riddle me this, fellow parents or parents to be: Why do these things—and so many other occurrences—always seem to take place at the witching hour of 3am?

'Flappy Bird' to be removed from app stores, developer tweets
Call it the death of flappy bird..
For weeks now, Facebook and Twitter posts have been inundated with text about Flappy Bird. People lamenting their latest death, those excelling and celebrating their success at the 1980s style phone game..
But now millions who have been struggling will be finding no more help from the flappy bird maker..
In some bit of irony, as I type this post, my son is actually using his mother’s iPad to play Flappy Bird.
He is not doing very good ..

AOL is slashing 401K benefits—because of two young women who gave birth to sick babies!
If you don’t believe that headline, read some more in depth: AOL’s chief executive Tim Armstrong made the call on the benefits after the sick kids issue.. Armstrong, who now may have secured his one way ticket to hell, said this:
"We had two AOL-ers that had distressed babies that were born that we paid a million dollars each to make sure those babies were OK in general. And those are the things that add up into our benefits cost. So when we had the final decision about what benefits to cut because of the increased healthcare costs, we made the decision, and I made the decision, to basically change the 401(k) plan"

Sochi (Russia) (AFP) - 17:28 GMT - “Hijack attempt” - Some more serious news coming in away from Sochi now — a Ukrainian man has attempted to hijack an airliner en route from Ukraine to Turkey and divert it to Sochi, Turkish media reports say.
This is from the AFP.. Various other news sources are reporting it too.. The first Sochi scare, besides the burned out light bulb..

Hundreds of thousands of electricity customers in parts of Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania waited for power to be turned back on as states fought to clean up Thursday from the second major storm this week.
Thank GOD my power stayed on this time..

My wife and I have talked about making this the first movie Ayden sees in a theater.. Now I’m not so sure. I certainly am not prudish and saw my scenes of violent-lite movies as a kid… But Legos being tortured while strapped in chars ? That’s sort of rough..
Even tougher is the ‘penny beheading scene’..
Maybe we’ll wait until DVD..

That’s nice. I am not impressed with much of any food-lite from the sandwich shop.. I have written about SUBWAY before, you can search my annals for text.
I do wonder though, now that SUBWAY has taken this magic chemical from its bread, will Jared look like this again:
