A song for a winter’s night.

It’s nights like tonight when one gets introspective.. Snow is coming down outside.. not a car in sight.. not even one can be heard in the distance. There has always been something peaceful about a snowstorm during the darkness.. Life itself seems to be on hold—something I find necessary now and then. I feel for those who are stuck in this weather or even though forced to travel to get to a job..

I am writing this post as I see a street light outside my window.. the orange hue is creating a firestorm of snow as it falls from the sky. You won’t catch me eating snow in the post Fukushima world, but I may make a snow angel or two tomorrow should Ayden Morris and Mutley the dog choose to play in the conditions..

I also find a quiet snowstorm to be very paranormal..Mysterious.. but reassuring. It’s powerful enough to stop traffic and life until roads are cleared, but beautiful enough to remind you that you’re not really in charge of anything here..

I am contemplating some strange things tonight—maybe the fact I’m listening to Dave Schrader on DARKNESS RADIO interview someone about children believe they have had past lives.. Or maybe it’s because every time it snows it reminds me of the eerie scenes of Stephen King’s STORM OF THE CENTURY.. Andre Linoge walks atop the snow somewhere in time.

I don’t want to continue to speak about a negative December.. but my God December 2013 was just abysmal personally for my family. It perked up by Christmas. And New Years actually felt good, hope and change is coming. Not the kind Obama promised in 2008.. but the real kind.
I can feel it.

December did end with some paranormal activity in my personal life.. An entity, or spirit.. or gust of wind, made its presence known.  It was perhaps the scariest moment of my life—seeing something unexplained and true, right before your eyes.. witnesses seeing it too only amplify the fact you cannot deny what your eyes just witnessed. I had one of those moments at the end of December..
I don’t know if I am going to be the same..
It’s because the paranormal is something I’ve watched from a distance. Something that I always doubted, even though I delve deep into stories about it. I am skeptical by nature..
But the occurrence that happened in my home has no way to be explained.

When you see something happen that you cannot explain, you have a choice: Ignore it, or welcome it. By ignoring it, life can go on.. you can keep laughing at those who believe in such things. Ignoring it means you can stay in your comfort zone. Close your mind and pretend nothing took place.
Welcoming it? That’s the tougher part.. That is when you need to discern with logic what your eyes see. While welcoming the idea that something strange happened does not mean you’re accepting it was paranormal, it challenges your mind enough to try to understand what it was you saw, witnessed, or experienced.
I am welcoming mine.
I do have video evidence of something happening—but I am holding that close to my vest at this time. I don’t want to publish something like that because I am not trying to get attention.
And the only reason I am vaguely speaking about it is because it has been driving me crazy NOT to write about it in some way.

With all that I could say about what I saw, and have on video, I will simply say this: The next time you see that mysterious shadow appear and vanish.. it may be more than a shadow. The next time the house creeks or moans, it may not be your home settling.. the next time your child speaks of memories that they never experienced, it may mean they experienced it somewhere else, some time else..

Ghosts and goblins, UFOs and all that.. 99% is bunk. But if you welcome the 1% your world may change…

Don’t know how much faith I put in this, but I find it interesting..

Ever see an aura?

Blizzard to Eye Northeast Overnight

It is going to be a wild night.. The Weather Channel didn’t plan it this way, but this storm is named Hercules

I will admit I love snowy and cold nights—as long as the power stays on, of course. I truly enjoy walking under streetlights while snow steadily falls.

With blizzard conditions, though, it may prove a jarring experience.. Maybe I’ll just settle for memories of a more tranquil storm and not brave the sub zero wind chills and heavy snow that is expected to fall.

If things get really haywire, I will avoid the outside altogether.. and cover the windows so I don’t have the chance of seeing Andre Linoge walking in the falling snow, looking for what he wants until he goes away..

Be safe if you one of the hundred million or so folks getting prepped for a big storm..

Dogs poop in line with Earth’s magnetic field, says study | The Raw Story

We are told this:

The study examined the daily habits of 70 dogs during 1,893 defecations and 5,582 urinations over the course of two years. Consistently, during times of calm electromagnetic “weather,” the dogs chose to eliminate while facing north or south.

I’ve read from silly things in my life.. and this very well be one of them.

pparently the people who studied dogs never met Mutley the dog. I’d hardly say there is a rhyme or reason to where he lets it loose.. Nonetheless, offered up for you skeptical discernment: Dogs poop where the magnetic field takes them

Historic FDR Bible goes missing after de Blasio swearing in

At first I thought it went up in flames when Bill Clinton touched his hands to it. But further reading of the story a detective did locate the bible and shouted ‘we found it!’ when  it was discovered..

All good things come to a nice end.

I wonder if anyone thought to say a quick prayer to St. Anthony during their search. That’s what nuns in my parochial school upbringing would have done..

Sorry to ruin a new year..

The beginning of a year always comes with hope—you can make plans and resolutions. On January 1, everything seems possible..

After I was done the traditional sauerkraut dinner today with family, I began thinking a bit about my own resolutions.  I have some hopes and dreams for better employment, to successful train a child to use a potty, and to attempt to stop a puppy from biting. There are some other personal aspirations that I’d rather not share with the world through a website..

The last thing I want to see are hopes dashed by some God awful world event.. we are victims too often to fate, evil, and plain old bad luck..

So when I saw a link posted on Drudge tonight about the United States government ordering 14 million doses of potassium iodide, it was unsettling. The source, of course, is Alex Jones’ INFOWARS.. so there are some big iodized grains of salt I chose to take with the information..but the information shared there is directly from the government’s FedBizOpps site..

I figured.. maybe this is normal.. Maybe this is alright.. Just another order on the federal site, and someone paranoid website owner took it the wrong way.

And then there is this..

A plume of mysterious smoke is rising from reactor 3 at Fukushima in Japan.. You can read more from RT.COM on that.

I saw that information posted tonight on Weatherboy Weather’s Facebook page.. He was hit hard by commentary on his post concerning Reactor 3’s smoke rising .. people called the story a hoax, fear mongering, and fake.

But the information is very, very real..much to the horror of the world—whatever parts of that are actually paying attention to the Fukushima nightmare.

If you think that RT is not a valuable source of information, there are some others you may want to consider on this same developing story:

The ECOLOGIST does take into consideration some other possibilities, besides an apocalyptic meltdown, such as the smoke is happening because rain is hitting stray fuel elements. But the other portions of the story are more troubling: A meltdown may be taking place, or corium has reached groundwater and a complete meltdown has occurred, something that will reach the Pacific Ocean.

I have reported lots of Fukushima since 2011. Even though I have re-posted some horrid news about the events there, including recent information that Japan is not only silencing people telling the truth about the disaster, but also recruiting the homeless to clean up the radioactive mess, I have tried to believe that things will work out.. that Fukushima is a long-distance nightmare, something happening somewhere ‘there’ and its disturbing developments will not impose pain anywhere else.

But those simply ways to tell myself everything is alright may be out the proverbial window with this information of strange smoke rising.

I am not at the alarmist level just yet, with one of those ‘bring out your dead’ sources being Turner Radio Network telling people along the West Coast to prepare for an immediate meltdown at Fukushima.

The world was told this by TEPCO: The process of removing spent fuel rods was going to be delicate and dangerous.

There still may be some hope, though.. A website named FUKUSHIMAUPDATE.COM has a story running trying to tame down the flames of fear over the reactor 3 steam.. The site also offered up some more factual information, again, downplaying any cataclysmic event..

So ….all eyes on reactor 3. At least for whatever eyes are looking at it. Unless there are still journalists being told to keep quiet about what is happening at Fukushima..

A breathtaking end to the first day of 2014

This is a NASA photo of earth on January 1, 2014. The first planetary selfie of the year. You’re looking good..

Blizzard-like conditions coming. I'd rather use the term 'blizzardy'

Blizzard-like conditions are likely tomorrow evening for most of New Jersey, the New York City metropolitan area, all of Long Island, most of Delaware, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, all of Rhode Island, and portions of eastern Pennsylvania.

The term “blizzard” is related to windspeed more so than amount of snow.

It will be very cold .. so the snow that falls will be light and fluffy—easy to shovel. But the wind will make it difficult—and ‘blizzardy’ ..

Here’s the latest from ACCUWEATHER.. I’m on a borderline between not much and a little more than not much. The real action will happen as they try to clean up the mess in Times Square.. a blizzard is a comin’ to greet us in ‘14..

Maybe you saw this image before, maybe not. Either way it reminds me of time itself.. as you stare at the photo (try it) it will vanish.. sure it’s your eyes playing tricks on your and your brain mis-reading the picture..

Isn’t that what happens daily?
You see your child born.. and before you know it’s he’s three and 33 and .. you’re not around to see him get older?

2013 began with a blast. And ends with a whimper—a vanishing act like this image before your eyes.

But in a sense the year is still there. Somewhere.. trapped in memories or in a time warp. When you re-focus the picture comes back.

But 2013 will not—at least not on the calender on this time line.

Instead it has slipped and slided away.. exited stage left as we banged pots and pans when the clock struck midnight. New York City revelers kissed under the night sky as the ball came down. We all sang Auld Lang Syne—at least the first verse since it’s the only one we know anymore..

'14. You're here.

Be kind, we don’t want to rewind.

And really we can’t… can’t go back—even if we want to.

It’s the best of times. It’s the worst of times. It’s just time to party like it’s 1999..

Stay clean. Don’t be mean.
It’s 2014.

I can only say this about what I am witnessing on TV from Times Square

1) ABC airing constant commercials during each break of Michael Bolton singing in the back seat of a car will haunt me until 2015..

2) Miley Cyrus had a great run in 2013. But with her awful live performance,  I can only say I hope she enjoyed it. Dick Clark is rolling in the grave..

Baby it’s cold outside.

But Ryan Seacrest looks so warm his makeup may run…

And Carson Daly? that’s quite the inside fire they have running on NBC.

Sometimes it is better to just watch the ball drop from the safety net of a building with walls to confine warmth. But for those braving cold air under a beautiful clear winter sky, godspeed.

Just saw a fireball over eastern PA

Clear cold skies…
I made a wish on my shooting star…

A great dinner at Martin’s in Hazleton PA. The night is still young—but so is our son.. So it may be the big ball on TeeVee with Ryan Seacrest instead of live fun. But that’s alright. It’s all good in ‘14

No matter what you do or try to, you can’t turn back the hands of time.

Enjoy the last few hours of 2013.. as they slip into history, forging a path for a new and fresh start in 2014.

Goodbye unlucky 13.. you’ve been too real for our good.
