WOMB TO THE TOMB

Remember a few weeks ago when Syria crossed that ‘red line’.. the President went on TV, and the world was on the brink of World War III. 

Until Vlad the Impaler Putin was able to get his best buddy Assad to ‘give up’ those weapons of some destruction. 

But now comes this story from the LONDON TELEGRAH: Assad’s snipers, they report, are ‘targeting unborn babies’ .. the story is shocking. 

Including with it is even a disturbing image of a fetus with a bulley lodged in its head.. And whether this is true not or, LIFENEWS (a pro-life oriented site) reports that an X-ray shows unborn baby being targeted screamed in pain ..

We have been here before—times when ‘doctors’ and other experts from within a nation say something has happened but history uncovers a fact that it never did. Think back to the babies being thrown from incubators in Iraq .. George H.W. Bush used it as part of the pretext to enter Gulf War I. It has since been revealed that those events did not occur, but simply were used as propaganda to humanize the war to sell it to America..

Is this new example of babies being killed in the womb another example of selling a war? 

Is this war even for sale anymore?

The strange behavior of Elisa Lam

Elisa Lam was a 21-year-old student staying at the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles .. She also succumbed to her fate there.. The story was a shock to the world: She was found dead in the Cecil’s water tank. 

Not to make the story less strange, but the Cecil was also the location where the ‘Nightstalker’ stayed—Richard Ramirez was a serial killer. A murderer of prostitutes, Jack Unterweger also lived there for a bit.. 

And now the weird death of Elisa Lam made the Cecil an even darker place than it already was.

The other night, Art Bell’s website showcased a video of Elisa Lam in her final moments of life.. Though the video was online for some time now, Art Bell talking about it propelled it to instant popularity. 

It shows Lam on an elevator acting, for lack of a better word, strange. Some think she is battling a spirit or demon, others think the video is simply an example of her fragile sanity.. The four-minute security video was posted on YouTube (*I don’t know by who, you’d think this was evidence??*) .. In the clip, Lam is frantically pushing elevator buttons as the door of the elevator stays open.. then she starts behaving bizarre..After these strange events on the elevator, Elisa Lam gained access to the rooftop of the Cecil Hotel. She climbed into the water tank of the hotel. She then died—and was found two weeks later .. The only reasons she even was found was because hotel guests were complaining of the water’s taste and color—investigators found her body decomposing in the hotel’s source of water.. 

In September, the UBC student’s parents filed wrongful death litigation against the owners of the Cecil Hotel. After all, the water tank is in a restricted area, and it is sealed. Yet somehow she ended up being found dead in a place where, frankly, someone of her strength and size should not even be able to get to..  

The VIGILANT CITIZEN website did great work on a report concerning Lam, the dark history at the Cecil, and other weird things like the Lam death being similar to DARK WATER from 2005 and the fact that, after Lam’s death, tuberculosis broke out on skid row in Los Angelas, near the Cecil Hotel, and the test kits used during those situations were named: ‘LAM-ELISA’..

This video, along with the inclusion of her circumstances on paranormal websites across the Internet landscape, must be painful for the family already reeling in pain from the loss of her innocent life. 

But there are just some weird things about this video.. her behavior may be a result of a psychotic episode or drug use.. but the elevator doors not closing until she is gone? The fact her body was found somewhere that a person should not be able to get to? 

The Cecil’s history is already frightening enough.. Add this to the mystery of the location.. And this one, in my opinion, is still unsolved—regardless of the experts and officials that called this death accidental.

I myself also recall a childhood fear of this very thing—the notion that the candy would kill me or that a razor blade would be hidden in my fruit.

The fear was only inspired further by the scene from HALLOWEEN 2 (not the Rob Zombie version) of a boy in a pirate suit being taken to the hospital for his mouth bleeding..

Those fears that we have, ingrained in us from an early age thanks to modern media and pop culture.

The WASHINGTON POST is reporting on a new water park in North Korea.. The government built the brightly colored park, in the middle of the drabby conditions the nation faces.. among some odd photos released, the POST reports, pictures of “handful of eager-looking young men and women playing in the water while, in the background, a mass of several hundred stern-looking men in dark suits look on silently. It’s weird.”

I cannot believe how bad the Obama Administration missed the chance to make Healthcare.gov exceptional.. And now this

OBAMASHOCK: Healthcare.gov website STOLE copyrighted scripts! And the site STILL does not work!? Shameful.. technologically shameful..

It got to the point today where the President had to have a special address in the Rose Garden the mess—and someone actually passed out during the event! The woman was probably exhausted from trying to create an account on the .GOV website..

A fascinating story from Japan: The youth of the nation do not want t have sex.. so much so that there is a birth crisis on the horizon..

The UK GUARDIAN has a report about Japan, where people seemingly have stopped desiring sexual relations.. As a matter of fact, it’s not just a disinterest, but a large percentage of the nation ‘despises’ sexual contact! 

Even more, the ‘celibacy syndrome’ is so bad that the government is worried about it.

Not mentioned in the story: Worries about Fukushima.. I wonder how many people have stopped being interested in having children because they fear the nation that their children would actually grow up in?

Nonetheless, the GUARDIAN story is worth the read.. 

And it’s not just Japan.. people in America too seemed much less interested in sex than ever before..Maybe American kids are just plain lazy?

Is this just evolutionary? That naturally, somewhere along the line, human beings would stop being interested in the very act that resulted in our existence?

The Obama administration Sunday said it’s called on “the best and brightest” tech experts from both government and the private sector to help fix the troubled website at the root of the Obamacare enrollment problems. 

A new Administration. A new ‘surge’ to handle a crisis of their own creation.

I just hope no one in the White House hired on David Karp.

Six year ago today (on a day virtually the same as today weatherwise) my wife Tara and I took our first walk as a married couple. This image perfectly symbolized how I felt that day—walking into the future, backs to the past.. but the same bridge of life. 

Since then we had a child, headaches and heartaches, deaths and tribulations. Along with it, laughs, endless smiles, and sure, a few necessary frowns.

The journey of life.. accompanying each other..

After six years, we now have a legacy. A child .. 

In six years, he’ll be going on 9.. and we’ll be combing out gray hairs—with me maybe shining a bald head.

While we know things can mightily change in the span of only a few years, a few constants will remain.

Whether you agree with the Obama Affordable Care Act or not, one thing appears clear: The rollout of the website was a complete and utter disaster..

So what did CARRIE fail at the box office?

I thought the cool secret advertisement that was done in the New York City coffee shop did a great job showcasing the movie.. I have seen endless ads for the film.. the word of mouth has been decent, and actually I even saw a review in CHRISTIANITY TODAY that portrayed the movie in a much more favorable light than what would be expected from a religious publican.

So why did it fail?

First off, it’s up against what may possibly be the movie of the year: GRAVITY, which is now experiencing its third week as the number one film at the box office—and that is pretty impressive this year,  as many movies did not have much staying power once released.

But it’s almost Halloween.. scares are in the air. So why did a horror movie fail?

Interestingly enough, it seems that scary flicks do better in the middle of the summer than the autumn—maybe kids are out of school and parents are more apt to get them into a an R rated film than they would be when school’s in session? I recall when my mom took me to see FRIDAY THE 13TH JASON TAKES MANHATTAN and my music teacher caught her in the act.. 

There is a certain aspect of CARRIE that doomed it from the beginning: The fact that MGM actually remade it to begin with. It was not really, well.. needed. The original film is still a classic, and people happily watch that version when they have the chance.. Nikki Finke made a good point, too: CARRIE did not satisfy the people who wanted SAW-like gore, and didn’t make people happy who wanted the creepy factor like in PARANORMAL ACTIVITY.

So here we have CARRIE, a film that may have been better never existing—at least the current incarnation.. 

But one other thing is for sure: THE FIFTH ESTATE, Wikileaks movie, flopped big time. It is only in about 1700 or so theaters. Next week, it will be lucky to be in 17..

Now this will be a World Series to remember

The Boston Red Sox have won the American League pennant and will meet the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series..

After six years and marriage and a two and a half year old...

…an anniversary dinner at a nice restaurant reveals two truths:
1) We don’t know how to eat hot food anymore. There were no interruptions for us to let it cool down..

And 2) We forgot how to drive at night.
