Frank and the feet…
Something tells me that if Benny Natzinger did it he’d had to wear gold-plated-gloves..
I finally saw the WORLD ACCORDING TO DICK CHENEY on Showtime last night.. it was a masterpiece.. of sorts.
At the beginning, I was wondering aloud, “what nudity could there possibly be in this!?” …and then Abu Ghraib appeared… I remembered it vividly, but until the moment it was in the documentary I somehow forgot it happened.
The documentary also brought back other memories for me.. I forgot, somehow, that John Ashcroft was near death in a hospital.. I forgot about about how much of a role Scooter Libby played.. It also reminded me of those debates, long ago ten years back, about whether Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. He did not. At least not when we invaded…
I also was amazed that Donald Rumsfeld blamed the Bush Administration for putting so much stock in possible stockpiles of weapons, and basing the war effort on that single issue, only to be proven wrong…
It brought back so many memories.. I forgot just how dismal things were..
And then I thought.. where is that anti-war movement now? Could they have forgotten we are still at war? Where are all those angry about domestic surveillance.. surely they know it still happens? And where are all who want Gitmo shut down.. or who think drones are too much.. or … well, I can go on.
It’s amazing how quickly we forget history. Even me, someone who prides myself on knowing quirky facts and weird things. But I forgot lots from the past ten years.. Hopefully it’s not too late that I am already doomed to somehow repeat something..
I’d say watch the WORLD ACCORDING TO DICK CHENEY if you get the chance.. it was an amazing piece of work.
Finally, Dick Cheney looks healthier than normal. He may be the bionic former vice president.
NBC exec: No plan to replace Matt Lauer.. right right right.. But there is a war on Jay Leno … Beware Matt, it’s almost over for you at Peaccock..
I would describe this is a must read..
In this law, the government may be able to incarcerate any Internet user they want..
If you’re into UFOs are creepy things, chances are you viewed this UFO memo from the FBI ‘vault’ website.. The memo details captured UFOs and humanoid bodies inside.. the memo has been the most viewed on the site since 2011 when a freedom of information request was able to get the document revealed.
So do you believe them?
Continuing on my horror subjects today..
Living a nightmare: Summer camp will let people live out a slasher flick..
The camp did warn this: During Great Horror Campout you may be forcibly handled, moved, bound, hooded, chained and subjected to simulated torture by our actors. You may witness strong verbal content, which may be considered offensive in nature. This content is part of the experience and is presented for entertainment purposes only.
I don’t think I’d attend this one. Maybe when I was 18, or 20.. or 21.. But as a 32-year-old my perspective on lots of stuff has changed. And in a world that is damn scary enough with real crime and slashing, why would one want to subject their hearts and minds to a fake surrounding of terror? To each their own.
Ten years ago I’d be interested in signing up. Now I’d just rather be in bed by 11pm and sleep peacefully with a slasher trying to gut me..even if it’s not real.
Another milestone for the horror world.. Alfred Hitchcock’s THE BIRDS turns 50..
This was, as I wrote with Kubrick’s THE SHINING, another film that I did not really appreciate early on.. Later as I aged a bit though I became more of a fan.
I wasn’t around 50 years ago when it came out, but for those who were they remember when it was first released and how scary it was.. They still have the same creepy feeling.
And you have to admit, any time you’re under a large groups of birds loudly chirping, you get that deep down sense that ‘THE BIRDS’ premise is about to go wild on you..
Two good stories today on Stanley Kubrick’s THE SHINING worth reading:
MY YEARLY ODE TO MINI EGGS
Oh Cadbury Mini Eggs, I love you
You’re chocolate goodness, it’s true
You melt in a mouth and not in a hand,
And are always fresh and never bland
Your milky goodness and your colorful bite
Can help any creature have a good night
Your Easter gift every year,
Maybe better than a cold beer
Mini Eggs, Mini Eggs,
To you I’ll walk with faster legs
It’s time again to almost part,
I hope your chocolate will not make me fart
The Easter season will soon be gone
And with that we’ll have to say so long
In a few months, you’ll be manufactured again
Eggs of glory for women and men!
Happy Easter.
Millions around the web are seeing their speed slow to a crawl.... It’s like dial up 1999 all over again..the London TELEGRAPH reports this:Cyberbunker is housed in a five-story former NATO bunker and famously offers its services to any website “except child porn and anything related to terrorism”. As such it has often been linked to behaviour that anti-spam blacklist compilers have condemend.
It retaliated with a huge ‘denial of service attack’. These work by trying to make a network unavailable to its intended users, overloading a server with coordinated requests to access it. At one point, 300 billion bits per second were being sent by a network of computers, making this the biggest attack ever.
It was dead pigs first.. Now ducks..
Anyone getting the idea than something else is happening. Such as 1) pollution from an unregulated industry or 2) our testing of some type of bio weapons?
This story creeps me out not because of the mysterious deaths of animals but because we know the Chinese government will not be honest with what is causing the problem..
Watch for more animals. Something tells me it’s not going to stop with ducks, just as it didn’t with pigs..
The gay marriage debate may finally be settled..
Or just beginning?
Chances are you don’t know what the ‘Monsanto Protection Act’ is.. I think it’s on purpose that you don’t.
Time to educate yourself now.
According to cops, the Shamokin, PA woman stopped a police officer and asked him to help her a fix of heroin.. obviously the cop didn’t assist.
A snippet from the NEWS ITEM:
Arlina Alves, 49, of 142 E. Lincoln St., flagged down Patrolman Raymond Siko II in his cruiser while he was patrolling Liberty Street at 9:30 a.m.
Siko said Alves told him she needed a “fix,” asked him for some heroin and even requested a ride to York to purchase heroin.
After Siko pointed out that he is a police officer, Alves allegedly replied, “That’s even better because you probably have some heroin at the station that you have taken off people. I only need one bag.”
After realizing she wasn’t getting any heroin, Siko said Alves became combative and started cursing in the middle of the street in front of three adults and two children.
Siko said Alves admitted drinking a couple bottles of wine the night before.
She was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
