And yes, I'm also worried about the Bloomsburg Fair

The greatest time of autumn is coming. Bloomsburg Fair season.. already the fair delayed vendors from setting up 9/11.. I certainly hope whatever rain and mud leftovers remain after waters subside can be cleaned .. and hopefully in time for the start of the great annual autumnal brilliance of pig pens and fried foods called the Bloomsburg Fair.

From BloomUToday.com .. amazing flood waters rage ..

River worries..

I know what the projections say.. I know they are talking about rivers being dangerously above flood levels—and the highest since Agnes in ‘72. But something deep down thinks their projections are off a bit and the river levels may end up being higher than projected.. What is troubling me is the rain pattern, how it’s nonstop and seemingly forming all over again once its over..and all headed to the watershed areas that fuel and form the main burst that the Susquehanna River is going to have.. I just worry. Hope I’m wrong..

Accuweather report details out the river projections

The Susquehanna River at Harrisburg, Pa., is projected to crest 5 feet above major flood stage according to the National Weather Service hydrologists early this weekend. At this level, flooding will occur along heavily traveled routes 11 and 15, and US 22/322.

Widespread flooding will also inundate the residential sections of Front and Second Streets and in the city’s Shipoke area.

The Harrisburg Patriot News reports that Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson declared a state of emergency.

Flooding of roughly 25 percent of Bloomsburg, Pa., is projected, including major inundation of the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds. The projected crest of 31.5 feet should narrowly surpass the level recorded during the deluge unleashed by Agnes in 1972.

Harrisburg flooding predictions keep getting worse

Harrisburg flooding predictions keep getting worse

Where will the flooding be after?

Flooding may occur in Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts.  Bands of thunderstorms are coming north through Long Island… Lee is stagnant. Good luck up north, should you happen to get 9 to 12 inches of rain in 24 hours.

Gotta love the way WNEP’s Snedeker explains weather..

This composite is the amount of rainfall in a 24-hour period ending 6am this morning..It’s almost like God has cursed this area.. the exact locations of the heaviest is where the Susquehanna River picks up steam.. This is unheard of rainfall.. As said before, some of this rain, 9 inches or more in some locations, is what these areas get in three months… that much rain in 1 day. Amazing.. and unforgettable.

The news this morning is very bad. We’ve experienced record flooding, there’s a lot of work to be done. Stay safe everyone.

I THINK WE CAN THANK KATIA..

…take a look at radar and satellite. Katia is so large and so strong in the Atlantic it seemingly is blocking Lee from moving out!

Every time the rain seems to end, more forms.. all the way down to Virginia.. still a line of storms and strong rain. And even worse for those on the Susquehanna River West Branch, the rain will fall on top.. and maybe effect the North Branch.. and maybe cause a big fluctuation in how much this river is going to rise..

Records are being set.. rainfall totals of 9 inches? That is an entire season of rain.. .. and this is just in a day.

Unbelievable. Amazing. Unheard of. Historic. And something we will WANT to forget.

Amazing flood video.. Looks like the season is over for Knoebels..

Great coverage of the great Lee
east coast flood of ‘11 on The Weather Channel right now..

A cautionary tale with no exaggeration

If you live in the Coal Region, Wilkes Barre, PA, Harrisburg PA, Hershey PA, Dillsburg, PA, York, PA.. anywhere in Eastern PA.. Halzeton.. you name it.. all the way up to Eastern New York, all the way down the Maryland border: IF you don’t have to go out, or are not currently being evacuated due to this monster flooding happening tonight, don’t go anywhere.. and if you’re pumping basements, managing to drive home from wherever you are at, or just trying to find an open bar with sealed windows, good luck and be safe. This is rain like I don’t remember ever living through.. the river flooding that will be coming over the next few days is going to be horrid.. Good luck all to who need it. Heed my warning.. I try not to play things up much but this, tonight, right now, is absolutely biblical.
