Get ready: Heat is coming.. this week, from sea to shining sea, the American landscape is going to sizzle.. Fry eggs on the highway, water the plants.. don’t leave your pets or your elderly in cars. It’s going to be a heat wave.. Amazingly, it’s going to be 90 degrees and higher in 40 states.. This is summer 2011.

I have long believed that future humans will have Google-type phones or memory chips implanted in our skin and we will actually become a part of the internet. At that point, will humans know everything? What danger could that bring if we did? … No more Google when we are Google.

I think scientists are actually right..but there's always a 'but'

I believe that, as reported this week, Google is actually destroying what little minds we actually have left.. I know for me, soon after a search is complete and an answer is found, my mind trashes the little snippet of information like disposable waste..

But think of this! What if it’s information, the info we Google constantly, is information we shouldn’t really care to remember anyway? Maybe it’s simply a waste of time and space in our brain..

I wonder this: Would we remember the important stuff if we found it online? …I’d argue probably yes. I just wish I had enough money for a study.

It really is the perfect summer day

…And it’s made even nicer when you think that we are about halfway through summer.. on the down side now. Sure heat waves are coming and yes, the 90s and 100s will be prominent throughout the nation this coming week.. But there is something about that night time air, though mixed with heat, that reminds you of the cooler coming months.. there are noises at night that remind me of fall. It’s almost as though, especially in late July, that insects and animals begin to retire their senses for another season.

Sure there’s lot of summer to go. But there sure is lots of summer over, too..

It’s amazing to think, but we are pretty much at the halfway point through summer.. Sooner rather than later, leaves will be changing, the sun will be gone.. snow will be falling. Time goes by fast.. Enjoy it while you’ve got it.

Starry night.. Summer sky

The few joys of summer all at once tonight… Bright moon, cool summer breeze.. Ice cream man.. Beautiful night, perfect. It felt like 1970s suburbia.. No obese kids on computers, just riding bikes, just taking in a simple, plain, perfect summer night. Nights like this make life ‘worth it’..
