CNN just sent out a news alert on the Kentucky Derby winner
…to which I had just two thought. First, I wondered if horse racing rose to the prominence of an important breaking news event. And secondly, how many really pissed off people lost a boat load of money this weekend..

So jobs got added in April..
…and. 60,000+ of those jobs came from McDonalds.. But 1million people applied for the 60,000 jobs.. So 6% of so of those desperate to work got jobs somewhere they probably didn’t want to work at.. And that’s not putting down McDonalds workers in the least, do not think I am.. But it is a testimony to the depression-level job crisis this nation is in.. It appears to be deepening. With the real unemployment numbers at 17%+ and the youth unemployment well in the 20 percentile, it appears we are creating a permanent underclass… One without pensions, health care, or jobs paying more than minimum wage.. But we got Osama. And for a few minutes everything seemed alright…..until we all woke up the next day.

If my wife and I are as emotional as we are about her FMLA ending and someone new watching during the day (and believe me he’s in good hands) I guess by his school age we’ll just be downright suicidal.. But this isn’t easy. I guess it will get so in time. Then BAM! he’s in college… That’s just how life goes: In the blink of an eye. It’s why during those fleeting moments we try to keep our eyes wide open.
As my wife and I grow further as parents, one thing has surprised us..
The increase of emotions on everything.. Sentimentality.. Joy .. Sadness.. Laugher. Everything is elevated.. It’s amazing how one life changes everything. And if you couldn’t tell by now, yes my wife’s FMLA is over….
