This is going to be a very dangerous storm for Asia.. here is Typhoon Soulik poised and ready to strike Taiwan.. it’s been years since Taipei got a direct typhoon hit. That lucky streak could end by Saturday in the AM as this storm bears down..
Positive thoughts and prayers are with the island nation..
How to kill an area; Leave it
There has been an exodus from the coal region of Pennsylvania over the past generation.. high unemployment, economic conditions worse than other areas, and traveling to better jobs, all have forced younger people away from Schuylkill County .. And now the POTTSVILLE REPUBLICAN is sharing knowledge that has already been assumed: Most people who are young want to leave Schuylkill County..
Schuylkill County commissioners had a press conference on Thursday. They say that the county has lots to offer—presumably more than Yuengling beer and the A-Hole in Girardville—but they lament the fact so many young want to leave the area. To put a number on that, survery was conducted of the ‘yout’ of the region.. it found that 55% want don’t plan on living in the county when they are adults.
Of course, kids have grand plans. There is sure something about the coal region, maybe those tentacles of coal veins, that latch on to your spirit and trap you in the area.. Kids today become coal-region bar hoppers tomorrow, still wearing their varsity football jackets, trying to relive the dream of yesteryear. Just place GLORY DAYS by the Boss, and most will tear up thinking about the Friday night lights—unless your school didn’t have lights, in which case you’ll think of Saturday Afternoon Sun (*Cardinal Brennan football players would understand that*)…
So ….what would be a model for the future?
Two possibilities exist:
1) The county will continue to perish slowly, like a miner running out of oxygen in a confined space.. It will keep its high unemployment, and is generation of disenchanted kids..
2) Many who leave the area for experience and knowledge, will actually come back to Schuylkill county at some point in their lives, and bring progress to the area. The future will feature people, people who don’t sport mullets and cutoff jean shorts, creating jobs and hope ..
Which possibility is more likely?
A stroll down any street, Schuylkill County, will show how difficult number 2 would be to achieve.
How to kill an area; Leave it
Thanks to all the new followers recently..
Very humbling.
Hopefully my crazy talk tonight on 432 hz didn’t drive you away..

Those those who want to listen, Rob Simone on Coast to Coast AM went in depth on the 528 hz in 2011. . It was an interesting show, and until today I completely forgot I listened to it.
Maybe I was the victim of frequency mind control.
Those those who want to listen, Rob Simone on Coast to Coast AM went in depth on the 528 hz in 2011. . It was an interesting show, and until today I completely forgot I listened to it.
What's the frequency Kenneth?
Good REM song.. remember that? Dan Rather should.
Nonetheless, I am researching all of this crazy HZ information and came across an interesting article on the 528 hz.. The ‘love frequency’ .. This website at least concluded that 432 hz is the best..
So they say..
Is this all crazy to you?
Here is the DOORS, changed from 440 hz to 432 hz.. Can your ears tell any difference?
I notice it..
LET IT BE at 432 hz.. Much better.
So let’s get a little conspiratorial and crazy, shall we?
Here’s a video where your untrained ear can most likely tell the difference between 432 hz and 440 hz.. Which ones makes you feel calmer, I ask?
I think there’s something to this whole vibration of the earth thing..
Sadly no one emailed me a song that made them happy..
But I had a fallback plan. I resorted to actually conversing with people—in person—about the topic throughout the day…
Quite an array of tunes..
Lionel Richtie..
Lee Greenwood (yes someone actually said that)
Even Annie Lennox.
I found out, though, whether it was LOVE GROWS WHERE MY ROSEMARY GOES or SWEET DREAMS… I can find some happiness with the songs mentioned by friends and co-workers too.
So it gives me the feeling that, regardless of the era of time or the artist who created it, everyone’s happy song has a common thread: they are just songs that make you feel good. Even if you didn’t realize someone else’s song could make you happy too, you realized after they said it.. “well, golly that song makes me happy too.” And you need to use the word ‘golly’ for it to be truly happy.
The other thing I began to contemplate was that old rumor and conspiracy theory that the 432 hz frequency we should be is on is perverted by the 440 hz we were placed on. Maybe these happy songs are on the 432? Just sayin..
Maybe some happy songs coming tonight.. along with some conspiracy talk about those strange HZ rumors..
Thirsty for happiness Thursday
Looking for positive thoughts today..
And happy music
My favorite happy song is Love Grows Where my Rosemary goes (and not because of the movie SHALLOW HAL!)
So what is your ‘happy song?’
The AFP reports..
Pope Francis on Thursday bolstered criminal legislation against child abuse in the Vatican in an overhaul of laws that apply to the clergymen and lay people who work in the tiny city state.
The Vatican said in a statement that the pope’s decree included “a broader definition of the category of crimes against minors” including child prostitution, sexual acts with children and child pornography.
This is great news! Amen.

Ok.. anyone who worked in the food industry knows what a Mother’s Day cleanup or a New Years Eve night looks like. But i don’t care how bad the restaurant you were in was, it looks nothing like this Golden Corral …
By the way, for your health, the restaurant is in Florida..
Piles of trash.. ‘fresh’ meat near dumpsters..
And to all the dirty restaurants among us: The net is filled with foodies and whistleblowers.
If your kitchen is this bad, it deserves to be online for all to see..
My lifestyle change continues
Last night I proposed a one ingredient (and substantially more standing) lifestyle. Today was day one.. I think it went well. Carrot juice in the morning followed by an apple, chicken with salt and pepper at lunch and broccoli.. dinner is yet to be determined.
The goal is not to really lose weight, though that would not be a bad thing, but also to just be overall …. better. Feel better, act better, live better. That is the true goal of the one ingredient standup lifestyle..
We will see how this goes..
In the mean time, here are 20 other healthy foods to consider

When the Google stops the doodle
This from CNN:
Google and related services were inaccessible to some users this morning, prompting confusion and consternation across the Web.
Reports of outages began about 9:30 a.m. ET and quickly spread on Twitter, with users asking if the problem was affecting others as well.
Among the services affected were Gmail, Google Plus, Google Drive and YouTube. According to anecdotal reports, the outages appeared to be most prevalent among users in the Southeastern United States.
Google did not immediately comment on the problem.
Apparently the outages prove Google just hired someone from Tumblr. I jest!
But..
Thank God it’s summer. If it was a school year kids would be flunking tests from sea to shining sea this morning!

If you want to see the Internet(s) in its infancy, here you go
Look no further than Geocities.. This website captures some of the classics..
I myself had a few Geoshitties sites..
It was the original Myspace.. the original blogger..the original Facebook.. it predated Tumblr. The divorced dads and Jeep lovers from the 1990s paved the way for the personal blogs and opinionated sites of today.
God bless Geocities, and the pavers of the internet superhighway.
But Yahoo! shut down Geocities.
And now Yahoo! owns Tumblr…
Hmmm….
From the cute little Beeb to the depths of depravity
I haven’t had any kind words for Justin Bieber. I’ve maintained no fever.
And with TMZ report about Bieber urinating into a mop bucket at a NYC city restaurant and cussing
Bill Clinton, my already 0% regard for him has now plummeted j to the negative territory.
I will not say anything that hasn’t been already..
I think every working man, woman, and child should be offended at this. It’s tasteless sure, but even more so is an insult to minimum wage workers and disregarded service employees—many of whom should be busy deleting any songs they own featuring the voice of Beebs.
Yes, indeed….the cell phone camera is always spying. In this matter, Bieber was using his own urine in an attempt to humiliate the people who most likely just waited on him hand and foot. But instead he only disgraced himself even further than the repugnant little creature has done previously..

"Why did you shoot me? I was reading a book”: The new warrior cop is out of control
Good to see so many people linking this around the Internet(s) .. I linked it a few days past.. Love seeing everyone in agreement, right and left, about the state of American police…
[T]he Fourth Amendment requires that searches be “reasonable.” If using a SWAT team to make sure a bar isn’t serving nineteen-year-olds is a reasonable use of force, it’s hard to imagine what wouldn’t be.I’m digging this because I’m reading through his new book as all of these articles are being posted online. I’m so glad that this topic is receiving more much needed attention. I mean, the Department of Education has their own fucking SWAT team for crying out loud.
My step-dad was a sheriff in Dallas, Texas for fifteen years so when the topic of police abuse comes up you can imagine the kinds of discussions it devolves into. In just the few years since my step-dad retired, the police force in America has changed dramatically.

Federal worker: Watch you co-workers
In an initiative aimed at rooting out future leakers and other security violators, President Barack Obama has ordered federal employees to report suspicious actions of their colleagues based on behavioral profiling techniques that are not scientifically proven to work, according to experts and government documents.
Even more from McClatchyDC:
Federal employees and contractors are asked to pay particular attention to the lifestyles, attitudes and behaviors – like financial troubles, odd working hours or unexplained travel – of co-workers as a way to predict whether they might do “harm to the United States.” Managers of special insider threat offices will have “regular, timely, and, if possible, electronic, access” to employees’ personnel, payroll, disciplinary and “personal contact” files, as well as records of their use of classified and unclassified computer networks, polygraph results, travel reports and financial disclosure forms.

The People’s Meteorologist and his moll just couldn’t keep quiet about The Forecast That Never Was.
Crazy stuff.. if you don't know who John Bolaris is, you need to. He isn't just a weatherman.. he's a THE PEOPLE'S FREAKOUT WEATHER MAN
It's rather sickening to think about the percentage of the day I am sitting for
I have been inspired by my nephew, a little over a decade younger than me, coming back from several weeks of his training to become a Marine and seeing a healthy, altogether different looking young man.. It made me realize the roly poly little bout-faced boy I am becoming needs to stop.
I think it’s time to become thinking about healthy. I am heading quickly into the 30s.. and then the early midlife. And God forbid some type of strange crisis. Luckily for my family we don’t have the money to spend on a Corvette—but whatever stopped a man from making rash decisions without fundage before, right?
Nonetheless.. I have decided on a new healthy lifestyle decision. First off, eliminate as much sitting as possible. We all know lots of studies and research exists to show just how much we sit, and how it could actually be deadly for our health… And yes, it will be tougher playing ANGRY BIRDS while standing.. but these are the pitfalls of a healthy choice.
The other factor into healthy life 101: Eliminate as many GMO foods as possible *sometimes that’s impossible* .. but to make it even simpler, I am going with the ‘one ingredient diet.’
While I don’t know and did not research whether anyone coined the term ‘one ingredient diet’ yet, I am going to attempt to claim credit in my ignorance.
My simple notion of this diet: Don’t eat anything with more than one ingredient.
For example: If you want lemon peppered salmon, you would purchase; Non-GMO fresh caught salmon (good luck, I know), a lemon, pepper, and butter. You would NOT purchase the seasoning already made or margarine, as they have more than one ingredient. If you want applesauce, buy an apple, sugar, and mash it together. Avoid the applesauce with added ingredients, splenda, and especially ASPARTAME (cue the dread music.)
So it’s not that you’re only eating one thing, you can actually combine your one ingredients together to make a meal.
This will get rough.. indeed.
But for generations, no, CENTURIES, we’ve done this. We’ve cooked, and made our own food.. And now, today, even this day, people are dying off quickly from the last generation that knew how to cook. Like, really cook. Like cook their butts off to the point where you never had anything that tasted that good. THAT is the purpose of the one ingredient diet. You cook your own food, slower, and longer, and you appreciate what you’re eating more. And you can also get to know what you’ve been eating.
There were be some exceptions. For example, if I cannot find sunflower seeds without salt, I can cheat and get ones with the salt.. I don’t care to make my own bread so I will buy from local bakers who only add the basic ingredients instead of the 500 that big makers put in..
And wine and beer?
Well.. not sure yet on the wine aspect.. Needs to research what ingredients go into FUNKY LLAMA, my favorite brand. But I have the beer thing covered: Straub from Pennsylvania. Good beer, no salt or sugar added..
So wish my luck .. hopefully this mission won’t become an ordeal. Maybe if it works I can market it.. Unless someone else did that already. And if you did, don’t sue me.. Pay me to help you!
And drink up, healthy beer style.
Americans Need to See the Violence of War, Police and Torture
We constantly fail to acknowledge the atrocities of war , street violence, and human rights abuses that our own government is committing.
This is more than an interesting story appearing on TRUTHOUT from the DAILY TAKE.. The idea that for Americans to understand torture and the effects of American policy, we have to see the most brutal of scenes..
It bring sup one question in my mind: Have we become numb to torture, that even if we did see it we’d look away and not even care?
We have been handed torture fest films for a decade since 9/11.. TV shows glorify hardcore violence against someone for the purposes of extracting information (think 24) .. how many SAW films did they make now?
So when we really see the real thing… do we even notice anymore?
What kind of a society are we in?
We did change since 9/11. That is no lie..

Chucky is 25. Did you know that?
And I guess in that age of movies, you’re bound to be direct to DVD..
But.. now I realize something.. me, and others in my generation, practically grew up with CHILD’S PLAY. It was the horror movie always there since we were young. Interesting when you put that perspective on it.

NBC’s Rising Leno Dominates Kimmel and Letterman
So.. Think NBC will regret letting Leno go? He certainly has worked for them since about 1995 when Letterman changed his style and started the ratings dive…
I still say late night television was ready for a female comedy host. They missed their chance..
Chelsea Handler or Tina Fey would have been spot on..
Instead they are stuck with Jimmy Fallon… I think they’ll regret it.
(Though this is also a good chance for Arsenio Hall, who is throwing himself back into the ring)… Yes it feels like 1993 all over again..

Why are the police now stopping people from exericising their rights to speak to the media?
This boy was a witness to the San Francisco plane disaster over the weekend. Clearly we see the police officer pull him away as the anchorman on the ABC affiliate says the police are keeping him from speaking to the media…
But may I ask.. why?

It’s probably not a good thing, either..

Not convinced yet?

Anyone waking up and performing their first Google search of the day will be greeted by a new Doodle from the company, something they have made famous over the past few years: Remembered today on the Google Doodle is the 66th anniversary of the Roswell UFO crash.
I myself played with the interactive Google doodle a bit too long, trying to figure out how to help the little E.T. find his spaceship back home..
If you are patient and stay with it long enough, you actually end the little game with a “Google Daily Record” headline saying a flying saucer was spotted over Roswell, indicating that your gaming has been successful and the alien has found his way back to space..
A nightmare on my street
I rarely remember my dreams.. but last night’s was quite visual, and very memorable. The scenery was abundant.. the feelings I had during the dream was palpable. But looking back on it, I don’t quite why the night vision had such a foreboding threat of doom associated with it, but it surely did.
The premise was quite simple, actually.
I was driving —I think with my wife but, as dreams go, I can’t remember for sure—and we were in a mountain setting. It was dry and arid, looking like a drought-plagued dust bowl. The interesting thing, though, is that I recalled being there before. And it was not a good place..
As the dream went on, the discussion came up: What would be scarier: 1) If we see a house in the middle of this no-man’s land, or 2) if we saw a single person walking alone in the distance across the barren landscape.. We concluded that either would be alarming and would cause unease within the mind..
Looking back on it now, neither instance—a house or a lone man—really is scary in itself. But for some reason, that dream I had last night was actually a nightmare.. And I cannot figure out why looking back on it now..

Winter 1994. Summer 2013. A tale of two ages
Allow me to write a rambling stream of consciousness for a bit.. I think I know where I want this to go, but we’ll see where it leads..
It was the best of times.. it was the worst of times.
There was a family party today to celebrate a birthday, a graduation and new nurse Kaitlin in the family, and a young man becoming a Marine.
The world is filled with fires, feuds, and retaliation.
Egypt is in turmoil.
The Middle East always is..
Climate change is occurring..
Weather has always been extreme.
But today was one of those days where the trials and tribulations of reality took a back seat to family and kinship..
An interesting parallel existed in my mind’s eye as I watched my family … we’ve grown and aged. I did, too ..
I distinctly remember a moment in time, so long ago now last century, when a teenage me was walking my now deceased dog on Christmas Eve night.. a full moon was above, and my little nephew Shawn Jr. was by my side .. he followed me around in those times everywhere I went. He was a cute little skinny runt, probably around age 3 in my memory.. I recall fondly the cold air, the snow on the ground, and the magic of Christmas in our hearts as he chatted up a storm about what Santa Claus was going to bring for him.
This year, this day, my young son, now aged 2 and a half, was running after his family members one by one —chasing them around the house with a Superman watch that plays a few seconds of the theme song. The watch was a gift for his Uncle who celebrated a birthday today. But it didn’t fit Uncle Shawn, so Ayden now is wearing it for ‘special powers’… And I looked at my son, sweating and laughing in the 95 degree heat, and could not think back to that cold and snowy Christmas eve when my nephew was just his size..
My nephew is now a Marine..
My son has a future ahead of him.. As of today, he is Superman and he is knocking ‘bad guys’ down one by one…
A tale of two ages..
A sign of the times. Not the overall ‘world’ times.. but the localized times. You know, the ones that matter.
My sister made a comment today about how reality exists for us.. but everyone else has their own reality, their own story, and their own piece of the pie of existence. We only know what takes place on a daily basis for our own bodies and souls. We cannot understand or fathom what happens in the lives of others.
And with that said.. I can only remember what it was like to be ME at age 3, living in the mine fires of Centralia.. While I can try, I don’t really know what it was like to be my nephew patiently waiting the arrival of Santa somewhere in the mid 1990s.. and I can love and appreciate everything my son Ayden does, but only he will know what it was like to be AYDEN at his age, and any age..
Isn’t that interesting?
We can be connected to family.. but disconnected all the same…? Strange in a way..
And now a memory may exist for my son Ayden.. a memory in time.. Etched forever. When he looked up at saw his cousin come back from the Marine Corps, looking more than a tad bit different. I think Ayden met a new hero today.
But .. .that certainly didn’t stop him from using his special toddler powers and taking him down..
Late night grim reaping
If you’re still awake, you may want to tune into Coast to Coast AM, hosted tonight by John B. Wells.
The topic: THE GRIM REAPER..
As the Coast to Coast website describes:
Investigative reporter Peter Lance joins John B. Wells to discuss once secret FBI files that tell the definitive story of Gregory Scarpa Sr. aka “The Grim Reaper;” a Mafia capo, who “stopped counting” after 50 murders, while secretly betraying the Colombo crime family as a top FBI informant.
It’s an interesting topic..
Scarpa is an interesting character I’ve read about years back..
With Wells there is at least one thing you can county on great music. The topic tonight is thankfully not politics or world events.. with some interesting stories of Scarpa and some creepy music, you’ll want to lock your doors and make sure the windows are tightly closed.
